A/N: Yep. Zero Episode 145 is finally finished after starting that post around the middle of February and shortly after finishing Episode 145. According to my computer, that post is about five hundred fifty one kilobytes. Yeah. I may have went a bit overboard and a lot has happened in the six months since I began writing that post. In that time, there was a lot going on. One of the big things was that Steven Universe had ended around the end of March.
I watched the first ten episodes when they came out in 2019 and binged the second half of the show. I thought it was a good sequel to one of the best ,not the best, cartoon in the 2010s. I do have my minor problems with it and well, it's actually connected to something I'm going to talk about later on in the post. My main source of praise was that Steven's PTSD was handle really well and had Steven as a character tested and stretched in a unique way.
Like I've mentioned, I have no idea what it is like to have PTSD and don't clam to be the expert on it. I just felt it was a good example of it. I like the solo episode focused on Lapis and Peridot but the one for Bismuth on the other hand. It was a good episode mind you but compared to the Lapis and Peridot episode, I just felt Bismuth's episode was more on Connie and Steven's budding relationship rather than Bismuth herself. I could be wrong on that but that's just my opinion.
I did find this funny video about Steven Universe Future and it's real fitting. There were also these two comics on Steven Universe and both of them are amazing. Comic 1 and Comic 2. I also learned about Gravity Hills which was really interesting. During this time, I began coming up with a really good idea for rebooting Fairy Legion but not getting rid of the old posts, played through one of my favorites RPG Persona 5 Royal twice, and finished Pokemon Shield.
Lets talk about what this post is going to be about but a couple more things. These things are that both Persona 5 Royal and Pokemon Shield will be talked about a latter time so I can make both of them into its own Author Notes. I'm not joking about that. There was going to be a rant about a certain character causing some controversy in a famous series but I decided to put that on hold for now. I wanted to see how it develops a bit more before giving my two very ignorant cents.
Trust me when I say that. Zero Episode 145 had a lot going on it and this episode comes right after that behemoth. It won't be as long mind you since that was literally over five months of work on it and this isn't but know this. Fairy Legion may have the longer post from here on. We learn that Eazairvians are both male and female since they have both genders inside of them. Rachel and Zane/Zara are bisexual or in Zane's case, omniromantic/omnisexual but I don't plan on making that a big deal.
Watch Steven Universe for more inclusive characters since I'm not the best at writing them. If you think I should to be more open to more diverse characters, I only have one thing to say. Shut up. I've never watched the show that this clip came from but mother of god, this clip works so well for so many different types of things. I'm not being mean or anything but I will be using this clip a lot. This episode will be mainly flashbacks to the time after the Massacre and how Zane proposed.
I could be wrong about this but I plan to have at least ten flashbacks since someone of them will be dreams that the character aka Zane had in the past. I've done separate P.O.V. for dreams before in the past so I think I should make them separate from the flashbacks. It won't be as long as Zero Episode 145 but it will have a lot of Rachel and Zane so think of this episode as Zero Episode 145 part 2. Lets begin shall we?
Narrator P.O.V.
In Velvet Spoon, Team Maelstrom ,excluding their leader, were expecting Zane to tell them about the year he spent working for the Alliance. They didn't know about this prior to today because Zane was unable to tell them about it when he returned from Ezlario. It wasn't because he was busy with family or work. It was due to Rachel wanting to have alone time with Zane. The next day was when Zane decided to meet up with Team Maelstrom and his family was at Velvet Spoon. This was in 2022.
When Rachel and Zane walked into the Velvet Spoon that day, Rachel claimed that she had twisted her ankle on a rock when Wolfram noticed her limping. The Phantom dog pointed this out loudly with him worried for his mistress. Efren picked up Rachel and told her that he’ll be carrying her until she gets back to full health and how he’s going to destroy that rock for hurting Rachel. The entire team was oddly used to Efren being overprotective of their little group at this point.
Gwen and the rest of the women could tell that the devil was lying and she probably knew why she was limping. Rachel had told the sorceress about her plans to be with Zane for the entire night once he came back and knowing how these two are when it comes to each other. The day could have ended up only one way and it involve the bedroom. Back in the present, Zane getting a really good hair cut was a surprise but learning about the duo of Celina and Izola was something else.
Danny looked right at Zane with him saying,"So Zane. Do you mind telling us about your connection to this set of twins?". "And why is one of them sitting on your lap?" said Rachel with her trying and failing to hold back her rage toward Celina who had a huge smile on her face. Izola was doing this as well but was more subtle compared to the devil. "Focus girl." said Heidi. "I think she would but remember who you're trying to calm down. She's the jealous devil after all." said Kevin.
Rachel glared at Kevin who gulped in fear. "Think before you speak Kevin. It'll save your life more times than not." said Sly, shaking her head. "Yeah and the reason why Celina is sitting on his lap is because she won the game of rock, paper, and clippers." said Leo. "You mean scissors right?" said Efren with his head tilted in confusion. "Yes. We just like saying clippers more." said Izola. Wolfram nodded as Zane sighed.
Celina smiled as she said,"Our connection to Zane begins during you know. It was right after the time he spent recovering from the Massacre and left for the Alliance.". "Oh shit. When did you meet her Captain? I mean we were camping out of your hospital room until you got better!" said Efren. "Much to Ellie's annoyance at times." said Leo. "Um. Do you mind telling me about that time? I'm the new girl after all." said Lynx. "Sure. Lets begin our story in the year 2020." said Allen.
Flashback Narrator P.O.V.
Every being has scars covering them. Scars can range from emotional scars, mental scars, physical scars, psychological scars, etc. Some scars have a unique charm to them but the ones that were hidden and not seen are considered to be more disgusting. Every scar has a story. Zane has his fair share of scars which are a result of him making mistakes. He could heal all of them away but chooses to keep a couple of them. By keeping them, it's a reminder of those failures.
Despite having physical scars, he has never had a emotional, mental, and psychological scar before the Massacre. After losing Karen, Kristen, Nova, Rain, Roxy, and Sierra, his Essence was left with a deep and gaping scar. I'm also not talking about the scar that he got that goes along his chest and the loss of his left eye that he got from Kilene since those are physical scars. He was ready to give up on life and believed that he was too weak to protect anyone.
The radiant confidence that several people admired him was gone, leaving behind an empty husk that tried to mask the pain he felt. He tried to hide his pain with a smile but anyone with a brain could see that he was in a great deal of mental anguish. He was planning on ending his existence in order to make amends with the ones he failed. Someone eventually snapped him of that mindset with this single person reminded him of a simple fact.
Even if you lose someone close to you, they'll be with you in your Essence and you still have people who care about you. It snapped Zane out of his funk but this didn't happen within a couple of days but around six months after the Massacre. Rachel Powell had some pretty deep scars herself. Ever since she was a little girl, her two older sisters treated her as a mistake since she couldn't control her powers. Her bullying only increased when she lost her father.
Her mother went on a quest for revenge, ignoring her family in the process. Her sisters abused her and her older brother was too busy to help her in her time of need. Her sister in law tried to help her but she was busy as well and not the best when it comes to expressing emotions. She eventually went to go live with her grandmother in Cypress Park when she was nine years old. On her first day of school, she was being bullied by Sam and her groupies which didn't consist of Hannah just yet.
She wasn't able to fight back. Her grandmother made her promise not to use her powers to hurt humans which Rachel did since she couldn't control them to begin. She was saved by the man who she fell in love with hard and fast. She later made friends with him and others for the next nine years. However, it seems that you can never truly escape your past and how it comes back to hurt you. For Rachel, it did and then some.
Blaze only wanted her as his wife and her sisters allowed this to happen despite both of their parents refusing any of their children to marry someone of the Salamander Clan except for maybe Archie if he wasn't already married to Sonja. Zane and her friends didn't allow this wedding and fought to the best of their abilities to keep her away from him. After they won, Rachel kissed Zane and knew that she was his forever. Seeing Danny and the others getting hurt for her sake haunts her to this day.
Zane was the same since being unable to save those six will haunt him till the day he finally croaks which won't be for a very long time if Fairy Legion is canon. After fighting against a being who had obtained god like power, Zane's body was left in tatters with wounds covering from top to bottom. This beating rivaled the one he got from fighting against Xiadur when he was sixteen years old and Basalt when he was eighteen years old.
To add insult to injury, Zane personally saw the deaths of Karen April Castro, Kristen Gina Ortiz, Nova Blossom Estrada, Rain Xenia Brooks, Roxanne/Roxy Lydia Stars, and Sierra Natalia Ozaki right in front of him thanks to Madam Kilene aka Jessica Aquilar. He lost his temper and in that anger, he destroy the Omniverse. He was talked out of killing her by Parker who didn't want her to live either but knew Zane wasn't a killer like Jessica was.
The physical wounds from this event would heal within hours but some wounds never truly heal. These wounds made their way into his mind and Essence. They would hurt badly whenever he thought about the six women who made his life amazing. "What is Zane's condition Ellie?! I think I have a right to know!" said a very beautiful woman who had tears steaming down her cheeks. This beautiful woman is Rachel Valentia Powell aka the only lover of Zane Alvarez left standing after the Massacre.
She was talking to the only doctor that she trusted with Zane's well being. This doctor is Zane's sister in law Elanor or Ellie Alvarez. The woman was rubbing her bloody hands in a cloth as she sighed. Even though she was worried and heart broken about what happen to Zane, she had to remain strong even if her heart was in a million pieces. She may have now known Zane for all too long but Lucius told her everything he could about him to her.
Lucius was extremely proud of the man his little brother was becoming and well, she was happy to be part of the Alvarez family. "Where do I begin Rae? Almost every single bone on his body was broken and he was suffering from massive internal bleeding. However, his body eventually began to heal itself so his infamous regeneration makes doctors like us look crap. He suffered a great amount of damage thanks to the Eazairvian bitch." said Ellie, clenching her fists.
Rachel knew that everyone who has ever met Zane wants to beat the crap or kill Jessica for what they did to Zane but were stopped by Parker of all beings. "Let me guess. Kurt and Lucius are out there trying to convince Parker to let them kill that thing for what they did to their baby brother." said Rachel with her arms crossed. "I think they would if they weren't stopped by Natasha. It's super obvious that everyone in this family wanted to make her pay for hurting Zane." said Ellie.
The devil nodded as she said,"Us included. We may not be blood related but that doesn’t mean a damn thing.". "And don't forget his wide array of friends who would literally die for him since he'll die for them but will always come right back before any tears are truly shed!" said a voice. The two girls turned to see Liv poising with Marco standing next to her. "She's a hundred percent right and this is something that spinning idiot would say." said Marco.
He smiled as he said,"Zane is the type of guy who never stops fighting even when everyone is telling him to stop. He's the type of guy that I wouldn't mind serving under.". Marco always respected Zane's determination to never stop fighting no matter what. "Zane's willpower will help with the recovery process. He may be able to heal himself from any battle but the wounds of the heart and mind can never truly be healed except by the people who care about him for the most." said Liv.
She turned to Rachel with a rare expression on her aka a serious one. "What kinds of god would allow such pain to inflict a fantastic being of the Omniverse? And who will heal him?" said Liv. "I'll do my best Liv since I think he needs me just as much as I need him. We lost so many good friends today." said Rachel with her warm tears cascading down her face. The four of them were in front of Zane's personal hospital room. "Please don't cry Rae. I can't stand to see you crying like this." said a voice.
The four turned around to see Zane standing in the doorway with his body heavily covered in bandages except for his right eye and mouth. His left hand was clutching his chest. To see someone like Zane who is known for his strength and confident, this was a truly haunting sight. He looked defenseless and frail looking with the heavy amount of bandages wrapped around his left eye causing the four being's heart to clench in pain.
Ignoring the four, Zane turned to Ellie. "Thanks a bunch for saving me Elle even though my healing made it pointless. You're a good sister in law." said Zane, smiling. "I'm your only sister in law since Kurt having a wife may not happen but you're welcome. And go back to bed right now." said Ellie with her looking serious. "She's right Zane. You need to recover your strength and spirit before going back to fighting the Omniverse's injustice." said Liv.
Zane looked at his godmother as he said,"I know that Liv but...". "It's the sense of loss. What you lost isn't heartbreaking but Essence-destroying isn't it?" said Marco. Zane nodded with the three females seeing how serious this is. Marco saw that Zane was about to fade out and caught him before he fell onto the floor. "I'll take him to his bed and make sure that he's tucked in tight. He will try to leave that damn bed but he won't until he's well. We're all agree on that right?" said Marco.
A bit later, Zane was lying in his hospital bed with him currently unconscious and covered in bandages from top to bottom. He looked like a mummy with only his right eye, mouth, and nose was left exposed to the world. Rachel sat in a chair beside him with her holding tightly onto his left hand with both of her hands. She was asked by Liv and Marco personally to make sure Zane stays there while they go deal with his family who just arrived at the hospital.
They were making sure they didn't rush into the hospital room. Her eyes were and puffy from crying her eyes out. Even now, she was choking back tears as she was worried for Zane's recovery. Danny and her were the first ones from Team Maelstrom to arrive at the ruins of Cypress Park University. The only thing that they knew was that Zane was fighting against a Cross Species like him with the opponent Cross Species being of a human and Eazairvian.
According to Parker, that combination of species was extremely rare since only Eazairvian access to their power and refuse to mate with other species. Jessica or Kilene was an extremely lucky to get this power and she wasted it on her selfish desires. The result of their fight ended with the enemy Cross Species being taken away to a special prison just for her and its location is known by only Parker, the death of Karen, Kristen, Nova, Rain, Roxy, and Sierra, and Zane getting seriously injured.
She had been muttered things about her not being there for him when she needed him. Rachel knew that Danny and the others on Team Maelstrom felt the exact same since Danny promised to be by Zane’s side forever and be his right hand but he wasn’t there for him when he needed. He was taking this the hardest among their little group. "I’m sorry Zane. I’m sorry that none of us were there to be with you when you needed us. Please just wake up." muttered Rachel.
Rachel moved her left hand along the area where his left eye area. Accoding to Ellie, he was going to have a scar over his eye and it was the only part of him that didn't heal earlier. "You're going to be okay Zane. I just know it but please prove me wrong." muttered Rachel. She began moving her fingers through his black hair that wasn't covered in bandages. "Even when you're unconscious, you're still warm and comforting." muttered Rachel.
Her face was stained with tears. After saying that, a small yet noticeable groan escaped the nineteen year old CEO and his eye were slowly opening. His entire body was aching all over with small bursts of pain going throughout it mainly around where his left eye was. He wasn't a big fan of the mostly white room and hospital weren't something he was a big fan of. He turned to see Rachel's beautiful red hair that made him a big fan of red heads.
She was holding tightly onto him to make sure he didn't leave the bed. As Zane came to, Rachel looked up and saw conscious. Her eyes opened wide and relief. "Zane?" said Rachel. Even if he wasn’t even close to full power, Zane could sense Rachel’s Ardor and she was crying. "Rae. Are you okay? Who hurt you?" said Zane. "Seriously Zane?! You're more worried about me than yourself." said Rachel. "Of course I am. It's my job as a hero to be worried about people other than myself." said Zane.
With a glare, Rachel crawled onto the bed next to him and carefully buried her face into his chest. "Why are you acting like a big moron Zane?! You almost died by that bitch and we weren’t there to help you! I just hate when you go off and fight by yourself! You and the others fought Blaze for me and I wanted to help you but I wasn’t! I’m sorry Zane! I failed you! Seeing you like this is the worst thing that has ever happen to me!" screamed Zane.
Rachel was sure that her cries of anguish hit Zane's hyper hearing and wanted to make sure he heard her. She was crying in full force with her tears soaking Zane's bandages. Zane began moving his body upward using his telekinesis and tendrils. He was now sitting up instead of lying down like he was. "I'm here and alive Rae. Don't worry okay?" said Zane with him trying to calm her down. This didn't work as Rachel clutched tighter onto him and made sure he would never get into danger ever again.
Zane began running his fingers though her hair and this calmed her down. "Rachel. You and the others didn’t fail me whatsoever. I failed the girls by letting that pink wearing bimbo and her mistress kill them just because I didn’t use Astral Form from the start! Why can't I just use my full power?! She deserves it but no! I showed them sympathy and they threw my kindness to the side like it was nothing!" said Zane in anger. Not even a second after saying that, Rachel wrapped her boyfriend in a very tight hug
She was unaware of how her hug was hurting him since he was staying quiet about how painful the hug was. She needed this. "I guess we’re both idiots." said Rachel with a smile. "Yeah but I’m a bigger idiot Rachel. I let the woman I love go through all of this pain while I just lay on this really comfy bed. I’m just happy that I saved one of you while letting the others died. How did Bimbo not find you and bring you to CPU?" said Zane.
The devil looked right at him as she said,"So are you serious right now?". "Yeah. I mean Bimbo has on the same level as a Brandsa and was able to warp around the country like it was nothing. So did she find you in the Supernatural Realm or....?" said Zane. "That isn't the point Zane. She didn't find me so be happy about that. You save the entire Omniverse Zane. I’m the one to blame for you being in here. No one in Team Maelstrom was about to help you when you need us.” said Rachel.
Zane looked at her as he said,"Is that why you’re crying? Seriously. I mean this is nothing Rae.". He pulled away from her for a moment. Raising her head so they were face to face, Rachel had an angry look on her face despite her crying up a storm. "Nothing? Nothing?! Look at you Zane! You’re more of a mummy than Atem is! You’re covered in bandages from top to bottom! This isn’t nothing! You almost died!" yelled Rachel.
The Cross Species didn’t say anything to retort her claim since she was angry and trying to convince her that she was wrong wouldn't work since she was blinded by her emotions. "You’re wrong Rae. I’ve felt more pain than I have ever had before. This wounds mean nothing." said Zane. Her irritation toward Zane was growing by the second with her saying,"You dummy. How could anything be more painful that what those bitch did to you?! What could be more painful than this?!".
Zane took a deep breath as he said,"I’m the one responsible for Karen, Kristen, Nova, Rain, Roxy, and Sierra’s death. I killed them.". What Zane said caused Rachel to stop and looked at Zane in confusion with her anger leaving her body. "I could have done something about that but I refused to use my full power to take her down. I let her create her minion that kidnapped the girls and I didn’t do a damn thing to stop her." said Zane.
His look looked haunted and dead inside. Rachel was without words as she looked at Zane with her eyes wide. "After I get out of these bandages and hopefully a new eye, I’ll be back out there and get much stronger. I promised to use this power to protect everyone I care about and I’m not going against what I said back then!" said Zane with the haunted look in his eyes vanished with the confidence she loved returned.
After saying that, Zane pulled his girlfriend into a tight hug that he had stopped only so he could look her in the eyes. In doing this, he could feel it as a particular strong sob racked her body. She wrapped her arms around him, so as to return the embrace. "Oh Zane." said Rachel. The two held each other for several moments with Zane saying,"I guess Atem is going to have some competition in who is the best mummy huh.".
Despite her current emotional state, she couldn’t stop herself from laughing at Zane’s stupid jokes. The Cross Species didn't like see the woman he loves with all of his Essence so sad. He decided to do what his mom did for him whenever he was sad. It was mainly when he was little but it should work right now. Zane stretched his left arm to drag Rachel's chair next to him. Without warning, Zane reached for her head and gently placed her near his chest.
Rachel looked at him and she said,"Zane?! You heard your sister in law right? Even though you were in a coma, I know how good your hearing is.". Zane began stroking her hair in a calming fashion and she was enjoying his warmth. "Rae. I'll be better soon and out of the hospital in no time at all. My physical wounds heal faster than my emotional ones. Trust me okay." said Zane, smiling. "Okay. Do you mind if I stay here for a while or until your sister in law comes back?" said Rachel. "Go on ahead." said Zane.
Narrator P.O.V.
Celina sniffed as she said,"Oh wow Zero. You and Rachel were so romantic back then. Even though I had seen your story countless times, hearing about it from one of your friends is truly an amazing thing to experience.". "Thanks. We really are perfect for each other." said Zane. This earned a smile from Rachel. "So you two. How do you meet Zane?" said Gwen. "We didn't meet in the normal way that two beings met. We only met because of destiny." said Izola.
Heidi looked at Zane with her saying,"So please tell me that no matter how many friends you made working for the Alliance, these two are the only ones this close. I'm asking for Rae.". "They are." said Zane. "Is it bad that I can't tell you if you're being serious anymore?" said Sly. "Join the club Sly." said Jordan. "Oh. I see the confusion since it's Zane. Do any of you know the Tregalvo." said Izola. "It isn't a well known species to be fair." said Celina. "Don't look at me. I'm still learning." said Danny.
Leo looked at Danny with him saying,"I thought you were studying to become an Alliance member though.". "Yeah and your brain is a supercomputer right?" said Efren. "Not exactly Efren. Thanks to the nanomachines in his body, Danny's brain is now more like an extremely large hard drive with it constantly giving him information. He can think and process faster than any other being. He does have his humanity left unlike a robot and like Zero, his emotions are his weakness." said Izola.
The group looked at the girl who was sipping on a iced cocoa. "This is really good Zane. Do you think it's better than a slushie?" said Izola. "In no way is that better than a slushie. I have to take you two to Fantasia before you return back to the old man." said Zane. "You better or else!" said Celina. "Okay then I will. We have a date." said Zane with the twins blushing. "So did she just pull a Zane in the fact that she explaining how someone's power work?" said Kevin.
Allen shook his head as he said,"Even though all Eazairvian have the tendency to blab about whatever they love, we call it a Zane. I just find that amazing.". "So what is a Tregalvo?" said Lynx. "A Tregalvo are similar to Siamese twins in a sense." said Izola. "What's a Siamese twin?" said Wolfram. "I'll tell you about it later Wolfram. So do you have another being attached to you?" said Sly. "Nope. A Tregalvo is born as two different beings and they fuse into one being as they get older." said Celina.
Zane nodded as he said,"Yeah. The Tregalvo are considered by the Alliance is to be three separate beings that share some physical qualities. For most member of the species, it usually happens around the age of middle school and the two being's personalities form into a single personality that belongs to the third fused being.". "So if I'm getting this right, both Celina and Izola are Tregalvo. Both of you look to be older than middle schoolers but I could be wrong." said Jordan.
Celina smiled as she said,"Yes Jordan. That's a hundred percent correct. Both me and Izola are Tregalvo but our situation is a bit different.". "That's so cool though." said Wolfram. "So what do you mean by that?" said Gwen. "Due to the nature of where we were born, me and my sister will never fuse into one being." said Izola. "Which isn't too bad since well, we get to keep that individuality both of us have since that goes away when the two Tregalvo fuse together." said Celina.
Izola looked at her sister with her saying,"Even though she may be sounding cool and okay with our situation, it took her a billion years to accept that fate. My math is a bit off but like all beings, I'm in no way perfect.". "I don't think I heard you right. You said that you two have been around for a billion years now." said Gwen. "She did say that Gwen. So are the Tregalvo an immortal species?" said Kevin with him getting interested in the twins and not just because of their looks.
Celina shook her head as he said,"Not at all. The average Tregalvo live for about ten times longer than the average human's life span of ninety years. It's still a long amount of time though especially compared to humans who usually die off rather young.". "So why can't you two fuse together?" said Leo. "It's complicated. Our grandfather created us to be our species max potential and this prevented us fusing. This is just another me, my sister, and Zero share." said Izola.
Danny looked at Zane with him saying,"So why is she calling you Zero?". "That's my nickname to the twins." said Zane. "Okay. Thanks to my hard drive, I finally figured out their species. Like they said, the fusion happens really early on in their life. The two beings essentially become non-existent after the fusion so them being together is something that normal Tregalvo would be jealous of." said Danny. "He is right but these two are very different than the normal Tregalvo as I learned the hard way." said Zane.
He unconsciously rubbed his left arm with Jordan noticing this. "So this grandfather of yours created you two and meeting Zane helped you two to become friends." said Heidi. "And why is Zane rubbing his arm?" said Jordan. "Oh. That may because he remembers fighting against us in order to get stronger." said Izola, giggling. "Yeah I do. Those two were some of the most powerful opponents I've ever fought." said Zane.
Celina nodded as she said,"Would you like to see me fight to prove my worth? I'm up for a quick arm wrestle.". "Oh yeah! Bring it on!" said Efren. "Are you sure about that Efren? Big bro did mention that she is really tough." said Leo. "So? I'm up for a competition even if I lose plus I got to show my worth as the fifth strongest member of Team Maelstrom." said Efren, flexing. "I hate to ask but who do you think is stronger than you?" said Kevin.
Efren smiled as he said,"Well obviously, the captain is the strongest. Danny and Allen are right behind with Gwen being just barely stronger than me.". "I'm just happy to be in the top five." said Gwen with Allen agreeing. "So ready to arm wrestle?" said Celina with Efren nodding. The two walked to a nearby table with Lynx said,"So when did Zane leave the hospital?". "About six months. We should get back to the story shouldn't we?" said Leo. "Right!" said Wolfram. Dream P.O.V.
Zane was holding hands with Rachel as the two were just enjoying each other's company. The two of them had just finishing defeated the Battalion with the line up this time consisted of Blanche, Cecil Holloway aka Miasma, Clair Fisher aka Voltaire, Craig Quinn aka Cosmonaut, George Richard aka Mastermind, Jared Collier aka Clever, and Mandy Lane aka Sahara. This version was rather easy in Zane's opinion.
Rachel was the one to take down most of them using her Ardor in ways that she could never imagine herself doing for the majority of his life. After seeing the police take away the Battalion, the couple looked into each other's eyes intensely. They were about to kiss until an explosion was heard and it was followed by a stream of magma. They rushed to the spot of the explosion with them seeing a truly gruesome image.
Cypress Park University was destroyed and most of it was melted away by magma. Zane was boiling in anger with him saying,"Basalt! I'm going to make him pay for killing all of these innocent lives right Rae?". He turned around to see that she was gone and this scared him. "Rae?! Where are you?!" shouted Zane as he called out to her. Instead of hearing his angelic voice, he only heard nothing but the wind blowing. This both scared and pissed him off.
Zane turned toward to the melted school and saw that it had changed within a second. It was now a typical spooky looking graveyard. Zane began walking around and was trying to figure out what was going on. "Rae?! If this is a joke, I'm not laughing!" shouted Zane. He found some ominous looking tombstones and seeing them causing Zane's Essence to beat rapidly. He was trying to prevent himself from looking but his body was ignoring his mind's screams for it to stop.
He looked at the first tombstone and was horrified by what he saw. Here lies Karen April Castro aka Starlight. Killed by Zane Vincent Alvarez. Zane wanted to believe that this was nothing but a dream of his. It was more like a nightmare. He began reading five more tombstones with all of them saying the same thing about him killing the person who was mentioned here. Here lies Kristen Gina Ortiz aka Aqua. Here lies Nova Blossom Estrada aka Lucky Star.
Here lies Rain Xenia Brooks aka Siren. Here lies Roxanne Lydia Stars aka Dragoness. Here lies Sierra Natalia Ozaki aka Karma. The six gravestones was the six women who died by Kilene. After reading these six graves, they vanished and were replaced by something worse. "No. Not them too." muttered Zane. It was Allen, Danny, Efren, Gwen, Heidi, Jordan, Kevin, Leo, Rachel, Sly, and Wolfram. All of them were dead.
Efren had his entire body ,including his skeleton, melted with a combination of acid and metal. It left nothing behind even though Efren could regenerate from the two elements separately. Gwen had her very own sword piercing her right through the chest. Heidi looked to have gotten attacked from behind and look to be brutally beaten to death by multiple spiked maces. The lower half of Jordan's body was obliterated by magma with an image of Basalt smiling over her.
Kevin's body had been impaled by a barrage of spears that were producing a strong amount of electricity coming out of them. Leo's body had several wooden crucifixes in them and his body was covered in a liquid that looked to be mimicking holy water. Sly ,in her western dragon form, was being hit with a barrage of missiles and parts of her body was flying off in chunks. Wolfram's body looked to have been ripped in two by someone's bare hands.
Allen's body had a giant hole in his chest and his bones were exposed. His body was covered in bullets and sword slashes. His legs were burned away. Danny's death was the most graphic out of them. They were several dead soldiers that belonged to the Odium Society and several destroyed ships. He was on his knees with his neck having a bullet's hole and this was due to a enemy sniper. There was a fountain of blood around him. Rachel's body was destroyed by acid that look to have come from Xiadur.
The only thing that Zane could see his devil was her red hair. Seeing all of them dead, Zane's mind turned into a blank state and there were tears going down his face. His body was trembling and he was breathing heavily. He began punching the ground with each punch causing the entire ground shake like there was an earthquake going on. Zane let out a blood curdling roar that sounded like a ferocious beast and he unleashed a strong blast of Empyrean Will which literally cracked the sky apart open.
It began raining blood with giant bolts of lightning coming down and striking the ground with an intense fury. "Why? How did this happen dam it?!" shouted Zane. Without Crisis Judgement alerting him, several hands began appeared. Zane was relieved with his loved ones and friends not dying but were still him after all. However, the Omniverse decided to mess with him once again. He saw Team Maelstrom standing there.
They were no longer living beings but zombies and not the friendly kind. They were slowly heading toward him with them saying truly awful things. "How could you Zane? Why weren't you there to save me? You're a hero right?" said Jordan as blood came out of her. "She's right. You killed the girls and later us by not being there when we need you." said Gwen whose right arm was missing. "You're a villain not a hero. Skull Plague is more of a good guy than you are." said Kevin.
Kevin had wobbled over to him with only his left leg. "I guess we mean nothing to you huh mate." said Allen with both of his eyes missing. "I knew it but no one believed me." said Heidi with half of her jaw missing. "No please stop you guys! I would have been there to save all of you! I just wasn't strong enough! I'm sorr...." said Zane while tears fell from his face. He was stopped by Efren who kicked him in the face.
Efren glared at Zane with him saying,"Sorry ain't going to bring us back you bastard! Because of you, I broke my promise and that makes you a bastard. You're not the strongest being I've ever met but the weakest.". Half of his body being flesh and the other half was all bones. This statement broke Zane's Essence. "I looked up as a source of strength Zane. Why did you let us die huh? You were going to protect your treasure but you failed." said Leo with his arms cut clean off.
Wolfram's head barked and his words hurt the most since he saw Zane as his father and he let his son die. This made Zane's tears come out harder and his Essence was shattering bit by bit. "I was hatched to be your partner and I thought we would be together forever but now, you let us die. What kind of person lets their partner die?" said Sly with her body covered in burns. He was their leader and he let all of them died. He believed himself to be guilty for their murder and the girls as well.
Zane was unable to defend himself from their accusations due to him crying. "You should die with us. I mean think about it. It's the only way to make amends for your sin." said Danny. He looked to be unharmed and Zane's best friend began choking Zane with the Phantom Smashers. "You may have defeated Kilene but our blood has stained you." said Rachel's voice. She appeared with her chest having a massive hole where her heart would be.
Rachel sighed as she said,"I thought you loved me and the others but letting all of us die is a truly messed up way of showing your love.". She turned to Danny who nodded. He let Zane go as the devil begin charging up a massive ball of Ardor. This ball was about the size of the sun but Zane couldn't tell through his tears. "I think it's time for you to learn your place." said Rachel as she tossed the ball at him. Zane didn't move since he felt like he deserved it.
Flashback Narrator P.O.V.
From his hospital room, Zane roared,"No Rae! I'm sorry! Everyone please forgive me!". It had been three months since he was admitted into the hospital and while his physical wounds had healed up a long time ago, his mental wounds were still there and going strong. Team Maelstrom looked into the room with them seeing Zane. He was crying and roaring in his sleep. It would have been muttering but he was roaring out what his nightmares were telling him.
These nightmares ,according to Parker who was able to break past Zane's mental defense, were about them dying by Madam Kilene or Jessica Aguilar, Skull Plague, or himself. Whenever someone came to visit him whenever he was awake in his room, Zane looked like a prisoner who was taking his final few moments before getting executed. He looked broken and resigned to a certain fate. His left eye was still missing but his right eye had noticeable black bags under them.
During these nightmares, he was unconsciously using Vulcan Emperor's scales. He was clenching his teeth and fists which pierced his body, spilling his candy syrup blood. It was an action that was going unnoticed by the staff except for Ellie. For people who met and grew to love Zane, betraying him or hurting him is just the worst. It was almost enough to mentally kill someone. Team Maelstrom had seen this first hand when they saw Zane after he woke up from one of his nightmares.
His eyes ,once filled with life, were dead and his warm smile was practically not existent. "Gods damn it. He's still have nightmares." said Jordan. "And this one is killing him." said Leo. "Yeah. I feel really bad for Zane right now and Efren. Stop eating those sweets!" said Heidi. The man was eating a giant bag of gummy bears. "Excuse me for being a stress eater Heidi! The Captain is pain and I can't do a damn thing about it! So let me eat damn it!" said Efren, glaring at Heidi.
Sly ,in her human form, stood in front of them as she said,"You guys. Only Zane can be the one fighting so we need to work together.". "She's right. So who's in his room this time?" said Allen. He instantly got his answer as Wolfram ,also in his human form, came rushing out of the room and was crying his eyes out. "Hey there little guy. Zane didn't hurt you did he? He did that to a couple of us when we went in his room. I know that he's in pain but hurting you is.." said Kevin.
Gwen punched him as she said,"I can't believe you would even say that Kevin. Zane is in pain right now and doesn't have control over his actions.". "I know that Gwen but right now, the guy who never gave up on me even when I was being a jerk is in pain. I don't know him like Danny and Rae do but I do know something. Sometimes, violence is the only way to get through Zane's thick skull right now and I'm not wrong." said Kevin.
Wolfram looked in both direction with him seeing no one else but Team Maelstrom in the hallway. He turned into his dog form with him jumping into Rachel's lap and began to whimper with him talking aloud instead of his typical telepathy. "Zane. I just wanted to be by his side in time in pain but he yelled at me! He was thrashing around in his bed and fighting against invisible enemies! Me of all beings! I'm his son right?!" whimpered Wolfram.
Zane roared out,"No! Kurt! Lucius! Don't call me that! I'm your brother not a monster!". "I hate to say this to you of all beings but you do know that Zane doesn't mean what he is doing right now right?" said Jordan. "Yeah. Captain would never yell at you on purpose. In fact, he can't refuse anything from you little buddy. Do you want some bears?" said Efren. "No thanks Efren but why." said Wolfram who sounded like he was calming down. "Why what?" said Heidi and Sly.
Wolfram screamed,"Why isn't he better?! Zane is the best guy at healing I know and super strong! Why is he in a hospital?! Doctors are supposed to make people better right?!". The team looked at each other with them unsure of what they should tell the mentally youngest member of their team. "It's far more complicated than that Wolfram. Zane has suffered damages that can't be healed using the power of modern medicine or his powers. He'll be back to normal soon I promise." said Rachel.
The devil was speaking n a motherly tone. "When though?! He's been in here forever Rachel!" said Wolfram with him looking at Rachel. Before she could say anything, Danny ,who had been silent this whole time, clenched his fists and punched the nearby hospital wall. His fists left a crater and his fists were bleeding. His body had a faint azure blue glow around it. "Gods fucking damn it! Why the hell wasn't I there to help him when he needed me?!" shouted Danny.
He kept on punching the wall with him saying,"I got powers to protect him for his sake! But where the hell was he needed me?! What kind of man am I?!". Allen, Efren, Kevin, and Leo felt the same thing as Danny with Wolfram crying even harder. He wanted to be his father's side and never leave it even if he smells. Zane's Essence is bigger than normal so losing not one but six important people in his life was so painful for the young dog to even imagine.
Gwen, Heidi, Jordan, and Sly felt their hearts drop dead when they heard their good friends die and how Zane personally blaming himself for that even though it wasn't his fault technically. You could argue that Zane should have gone Astral Form to begin with and saved him but the Omniverse has its way of making sure something happens even if you do everything in your power to prevent it. While they didn't say anything, all of them need to be there for him.
Zane had a look that Rachel could easily understand and wished for him of all people not to experience again. It was the look of someone who went through an extreme amount of grief and sorrow. According to Danny and his mother, Zane went through this once before. It was after his dad went to the Infinite Void. That wound of his never healed despite his dad coming back. No one on Team Maelstrom really knew the details of what happened to Zane during the Massacre.
They were only aware of the injuries that he suffered on a physical and mental level. Zane looked like he did when he fought against Basalt a year ago but much worse. They only got the basic information from Hourglass Universe who had shown up to check up on their godson. "You need to calm down Danny." said Gwen. Rachel watched as Gwen hugged him. "I know how you feel right now but getting angry won't do anyone good." said Gwen.
Danny took a deep breath with him saying,"I know that but we need to be there for Zane as he has been there for us. I'm not going to leave his side until that day happens.". "I will too! I need to be there for big bro and dad!" said Leo and Wolfram respectively . "What about school Danny?" said Heidi and Kevin. "Yeah. You may have a computer brain but you're bad at school." said Jordan. "Like real bad Danny." said Efren and Sly. "Thanks for the support you guys. I’m really feeling the love.” said Danny.
He was being sarcastic as Allen said,"I know that you're being sarcastic right now mate but there are speaking the truth here mate.". Rachel smiled at this attempt at bringing up the mood from rage and sadness to something bright. Team Maelstrom was her family and she liked for her family to be happy instead of in pain. She then frowned as she looked at the hospital room contained Zane. It was quiet and Zane's nightmare stopped for now.
Narrator P.O.V.
As Celina and Efren were on round twelve of their arm wrestling with Efren losing the past eleven rounds, Lynx was crying due to her hearing about what was happening to Zane in his head and what happened during the Massacre from Zane's perspective. This was done thanks to telepathy and Efren knew this as well. He lost a handful rounds because of his tears according to him. "Oh gods. I feel so bad for you Zane. You were in so much pain due to that really awful women." said Lynx.
Kevin nodded as he said while handing her a tissue,"Yeah. It was so damn annoying how we could do anything about it but seeing it from your view Zane. You were pissed at that bitch.". "Which is a totally rational response to the woman who murdered the girls." said Heidi. "Thanks you guys. Sorry that I kept it from you for so long." said Zane. "Dude. Don't apologize for that. You told us about your pain when you are usually so bad about that." said Danny.
Allen nodded as he said,"Indeed. Helping others with their problems is something you do naturally since I find it quite easy to just talk with you about what's on my mind. However mate, you suck at telling others about your problems.". "Yeah I know. I'm getting better right?" said Zane. "Kinda dad but you're really awful about it!" said Wolfram with him resting on Zane's lap. "At least, you're being honest with him Wolfram." said Sly. "And Wolfram talking using your mouth is still weird." said Kevin.
This comment earned him a punch in the arm from Gwen. "Learn to think before you speak. So what about those?" said Gwen. "I think he's going to keep doing that until he wins." said Leo. "So not for a while Gwen. Why do you ask? I doubt we need Efren to tell the story about what happened next." said Jordan. "You mentioned that we were going to learn about what happened to your year with the Alliance and also someone else was coming." said Gwen.
Danny nodded as he said,"Yeah but we still have to tell Lynx about what happened next. I am curious about that other person though.". "I think we should finish the story in a second." said Zane. "Why? Do you have to use the can Captain?" said Efren. He was walking over with the twins smiling. "No. She's here and going to make a scene." said Zane. "And this girl doesn't like you in the same way that the two do right?" said Rachel. "Well, just watch and you'll get an answer Rachel." said Izola.
The door opened with something strange rushing inside of the shop and it was female. She looks to stand at an slightly above average height of five foot seven. She looked to be twenty one years old. She still draws people’s attention but compared to Rachel and Zara, she would look less impressive. She has rather fair skin ,that is due from a lack of sunlight rather than being a natural genetic thing, and slightly pointed ears which are a genetic thing.
She has hip length green hair with faint purple tones in it. Her cyan blue eyes were filled with a mixture curiosity and they had a gentle nature. Thanks to her rouge-pink lips, she had on a smile that rivaled Zane whose smile had the intensity of a sun behind it. She wears a black and cyan blue hooded knee high lab coat with a faux fur purple beanie on her head. The beanie has alien like antenna coming out the top of it. Her hoodie is open and this reveals an off the shoulder neon green top.
It has a black chibi alien head ,with a monstrous face, in the center of the shirt and has the words game over. She wears red faded ripped jeans with a cyan blue chibi alien head on each of the pockets and studded plaid belt. She’s wearing knee-high walnut brown platform style boots with gold buttons and buckles on them. She’s wearing custom-made black studded fingerless gloves that go up to her elbows and has gray stripes going through it.
She wears a black spiked choker necklace with a heart shaped lock on it. She wears red lipstick and has on black nail polish. She wears a silver watch on her left arm. She wears black and white triangle-shaped stud earrings. Her face was currently covered by a white traditional looking Eastern dragon-style mask that covered her face but not the top and back of her face. It exposed her ears and eye color along with her hair color.
It has a alien shaped mark painted on the right hand side of the mask and red fox marks. Her hands were currently behind her back. Allen looked at her and back at Zane. "So I'm going to guess that this mask wearing girl is your friend from the Alliance right mate? You tend to make friends with folks who seem to be rather strange at first glance but they turn out to be good people in the end. Oh and I don't mean to offend you miss." said Allen.
No on Team Maelstrom could agree with that since they met Zane's Omniverse traveling friends aka the Paradoxes and the ones he made during his time in prison. "That's correct. I'm one of Legion Zero's best friends and I come from Ezlario. I decide to meet my best friend's team who he claimed to be the best team in the Omniverse. With that high level of praise, I had to meet all of you." said the girl with her doing her best alien voice.
Kevin looked at Zane as he said,"So does she sound like this normally? Because if I'm going to be honest, it's a total turn off.". Heidi sighed at this. "Not exactly. She loves to pull pranks on people and probably got this from an anime. Right Arya?" said Zane. "That's correct Zane. So is this a bad time? I mean I did text you out of the blue this morning and when you didn't respond, I thought you were busy with her." said Arya. "She means Rae right little guy?" whispered Efren.
Leo looked at him with him whispering,"Mostly likely. It could have been the twins since those two seem to be rather close on the same level as big bro and sis.". Zane walked over to Arya with him removing the mask from her face. "Zane! What are you doing?! I need that mask to survive out in real life and in front of all of these people too!" said Arya. Under her mask, she is wearing large black glasses with the lenses being a transparent red.
The lenses are in the shape of goggles and has an orchid colored trim to it. "I know that but I really did expected you to come and meet them without this. You're not that scared girl anymore." said Zane, with him holding the mask above her. "Why do you have to be so mean?!" said Arya, trying to get the mask back. "I'm not mean Arya." said Zane with a smirk. She saw that the mask was to Zane's right and she try to grab it. Before she could reach it, he moved it slightly out of reach.
She growled as she said,"Fine. Time for Operation F!". She began drum her fists along his chest in a fit of anger and embarrassment. She eventually stopped to catch her breath before doing it again. "So should we try and stop this?" said Jordan. "You can but I'm enjoying it. It's funny. She reminds me of Uriel whenever she gets mad at Zane." said Sly with a smile on her face. "She's also super adorable just like the twins are and the twins are totally my type." said Rachel.
All of the girls ,excluding the twins, looked at her and sighed. "Fine. You win this round Zane but next time, you won't be so lucky since I know your weak point." said Arya. "Sure but bring it on." said Zane with him smirking. "You may be smirking now but it will vanish when I'm through with you!" said Arya. "She's talking about the classic male weakpoint right? She can try that plan but I'm sure that you have figured out a way past it by now Zane." said Astaroth. "Of course I did." said Zane
Not aware of the conversation going on inside of Zane, Arya then noticed all of Team Maelstrom and the twins staring at her with interest. Within seconds, Arya's face was engulfed in a blush and she ran behind Zane. "Why are all of them staring at me Zane?! And why are the twins here!? I thought they barely left the Realm of Souls! Plus your hair is different! It looks really good on you!" squealed out Arya in a rapid fire barrage of words as the rest of Team Maelstrom looked at her in confusion.
The Cross Species smiled with him placing a hand on her head. "Calm down and breath Arya." said Zane. The woman began taking deep breathes with her saying,"Okay. I'm calm. So could you remove your hand? I mean your fiancée is right there!". "So? You once told me that your mom usually to do this for you for when you got overwhelmed. I was the exact same way back when I was a kid except well, it was the only way that I would calm down was with head pats." said Zane.
Zane smiled as he said,"She did that because she was trying to make me less of a crybaby and well, I think it worked. I wasn't always this confident guy.". "Okay then. It's official. I'll allow you to do it but no one else. You're my first friend after all." said Arya. "But not your last. I'll make sure of it because I promised someone I would." said Zane. "So who did you promise that too Zane?" said Arya. "It's a secret." said Zane with a smirk on his face and winking using his left eye.
Arya groaned as she said,"Sometimes Zane, you can be a real pain but you're someone I rely on. Not in a romantic way but a friendly way. Please don't hurt me fiancée!". "I get that a lot. So do you want to know what's going on with everything or what? Plus Rae wouldn't hurt you since I mentioned you to her at least once." said Zane. Team Maelstrom looked at Rachel who nodded. Arya rapidly nodding her head as Zane chuckling at her.
Zane smirked as he said,"Okay then. Let me start from the beginning. They're staring at you since you were acting really cute trying to get your mask back.". "Why are you always saying comments like that Zane?! Most girls will get the wrong idea." said Arya. "Force of habit. I blame Conner for that. Like you. the twins also wanted to meet my friends. It just so happened that you three decided to visit on the same day. As for my hair, I decided for a change. It seems to be going well for me." said Zane.
Danny walked over them as he said,"As much as I'm enjoying this interaction, I think we should start introducing ourselves. My name is Danny.". "Nice to meet you. I'm well aware of my best friend's team and their connection to him. It's nice to meet them in person though." said Arya with her looking at Danny's hair instead of his eyes. It was a way for her to talk with new people. "And how do you know that Arya?" said Gwen.
Arya looked right at Gwen's hair as she said,"I hacked Zane's phone obviously plus I broke into the Alliance's information database. I read through all of their files on you guys before arriving.". "You can't be serious with that Arya? You hacked his phone and hacked into the Alliance? I thought those two were unhackable." said Lynx. "They are but like Zane says, nothing is perfect. Since I answered Lynx's question while looking into her blue eyes, can I pet the doggo?" said Arya.
Zane sighed as he said,"Arya. While I'm proud of you for doing that, you should know this. You really don't need to ask for permission when it comes to playing with Wolfram. He loves headpats just like the two of us.". The woman walked over to Wolfram and he turned into his dog form. She place her hand on his head and began petting it. The dog barked in joy with Arya beginning to cuddle the canine who was enjoying the attention and love. "So Zane. Who is she and how do you know her?" said Sly.
The Akostar looked at him as she said,"She knows all of us but we know nothing about her.". "Oh. That make sense but Rae knows a bit about her and the twins is another story for later. This woman here is my assistant in the Alliance Arya Cunningham. I'll go into how we met later on. She goes by the name Seraphina when in the field. Seraphina is her codename since she really liked the name when I told her about it one time." said Zane.
Arya nodded as she said,"Sup. It's nice to meet an Akostar who isn't an arrogant asshole. I mean you're the second Akostar I've ever met since Zane was the first one.". "Is that common for your species or what?" said Efren. "Probably. I've never met one other than Zane. I really should start meeting with them." said Sly. "So do you treat Arya like your grandpa and Axel treat Verna babypop Zane? Because if you do, we'll have a problem." said Rachel, looking at Zane.
Before he could say anything, Arya shook her head as she said,"Not at all Rachel! Zane treats me very well even though he can be really mean mainly when he's teasing. I'm sure like all of you, he's help you right?". "Yeah he has. I think everyone on Team Maelstrom has been helped by Zane in big or small ways." said Gwen with a smile. No one could really argue against that. Arya put Wolfram down with the dog getting disappointed and she walked over to Rachel.
Rachel looked at Arya with her saying,"Is something the matter Arya?". "Nothing. I just need to do something truly important since Zane kept telling me about this." said Arya with her having a smirk and her glasses were shining. Without any kind of warning on her part, she suddenly submerged her nose in the devil's hair. "Oh my gods! Her hair is fluffy Zane! You're right!" squealed Arya. "Please get out of my hair Arya! Only...!" said a bright red Rachel.
She was stopped from yelling at the girl thanks to Zane who mimicked his assistant's action perfectly. "I know right? I wouldn't lie about something like this? It's something that I won't let anyone else have so be lucky I allowed this. I'll also make sure that her hair is never cut to something to a short length. It need to remain long right?" said Zane. "Indeed. This is an Omniversal treasure that will be protect no matter what." said Arya, nodding her head. "Well said partner." said Zane.
Rachel groaned as she said,"And here I thought you were the only one who liked my hair like that but there is another one!". "So is this normal? I'm still new to Zane's eccentricity." said Lynx. "Yes to this being normal and that girl doing that to Rachel as well is new." said Sly. "I like it though since it reminds me of the Captain back in the day. Always doing weird things but those weird things have a purpose." said Efren. "That's true but I don't know what this is going to do." said Sly.
After both Arya and Zane were removed from Rachel's hair, the group began talking about Zane's time in the hospital. Rachel didn't mind Zane being in her hair but she did mind Arya since she didn't know her as well as Zane did. When Arya learned about this conversion, she wanted to know about this since Zane never told her about it this for obvious reasons. She knew about it thanks to her hacking his phone in order to learn more about Zane but she wanted to hear it from his friends.
Lynx looked at the group as she said,"So did Zane ever stop having nightmares?". Without missing a beat and in complete unison, Danny and Rachel said,"No he hasn't.". "I would argue against that but nope." said Zane. "Don't worry Zane. You're doing much better than you did back then." thought Izola with her smiling brightly. "Yeah! Way to go. You're doing great." thought Celina. Both of them were talking to him telepathically since they were currently enjoying a parfait alongside Leo and Wolfram.
The Phantom dog was currently sitting in Izola's lap. "Thanks for that compliment but I need to get past these nightmares soon rather than later." thought Zane. He was clenching his fists but not strong enough to pierce his skin. "This is interesting. I always knew that Zane had trouble sleeping since he always had bags under his eyes but they were barely noticeable on him unlike some beings. Bags under the eyes are considered to be a very unattractive feature to most beings in a similar fashion to mohawks." said Arya.
As she was speaking, her glasses were shining. "Oh and I should mention this right now. Kevin. As a member of the opposite sex, I don't see anything attractive about you. The rest of the males on this team are attractive in some regard with Zane being the most attractive no doubt. I'm not saying that you're not attractive but to me, meh." said Arya without taking a breath or stumbling over her words. Kevin heard this with a storm cloud ,consisting of depression, appearing above him.
Without any warning, Kevin moved over to a corner of the bar and began staring at the floor. He was drawing circles on the ground with his index finger. "Not even an hour after meeting me, she both compliment and insults me. Why is the Omniverse so cruel to me? Is this some sorta of crappy joke at my expense?" muttered Kevin with mushrooms forming on him. He looked like a five year old who was just scolded by his mom and sent to the corner as punishment.
The group was very much used to seeing Kevin getting teased by the rest of them or other but usually a compliment never came after an insult. The mushrooms and storm cloud were new as well. "Whoa you guys! A real life Corner of Woe! That's so cool!" said Arya. Heidi went over to conform him as Allen said with a frown,"You've got a unique personality don't you Arya?". "Yep! But being unique is better than being normal." said Arya, smiling brightly.
Gwen smiled as she said,"Now that's something that a member of Cypress Trio would say.". "Cypress Trio?" said Lynx. Either twin would have chimed in alongside them as well but both were on their fiftieth parfait much to the amazement of Leo and Wolfram. "Well, the Cypress Trio is a similar trio to our Maelstrom Trinity except different than those monsters." said Jordan. "How?" said Arya. "It consist of me, Rae, and Zane because we've been friends since third grade." said Danny.
After saying, Danny bumped his fists together with small sparks of azure blue energy coming off his fists. "Yep. Rae has always been the cool big sister to all of her pals even though she's the youngest member out of the Cypress Trio." said Zane with him wrapping his left arm around his fiancée’s shoulder. "It's the group of Danny, Rachel, and Zane. I joined their friend group a year later before middle school happen and these three are closer than most families are." said Kevin.
He stood there with Heidi by his side with Efren saying with a thumbs up,"Nice job recovering from the mushrooms man.". "Even though you really should be use to people teasing you by now." said Jordan with Gwen nodding. "As much fun as it is to make fun of Kevin, can we go back to the flashback? I'm curious about what happened next to Zero in the past." said Izola. "They both ate so many parfaits." said Leo in utter disbelief. "And doesn't have an headache! They like dad!" said Wolfram.
Zane nodded as he said,"Yeah. These two and their brother have pretty impressive appetites.". "This part of the story is something I'm not exactly the most comfortable talking about with strangers." said Rachel. "But neither me, my sisters and Arya are strangers since we know about all of you through either stalking you through technology or through the Realm of Souls. I don't think it's that big of a deal to me." said Celina.
The two glared at each other with Arya saying,"Oh wow. This is only missing one thing.". "Is it lightning Arya?" said Efren. "Yes but not normal lightning Efren. That makes just too easy. Zane. I need you to make your lightning." said Arya. "That would make it perfect! Do it captain!" said Efren. "No you two. I like living. They are fighting each other because of their feelings toward me." said Zane as he sighed. "And you know this how?" said Lynx.
Zane turned toward her as he said,"Call it a hunch. It's like women's intuition but in my family, we call the Alvarez sense.". "The Alvarez sense Zane?" said Leo. "Yeah. It's like Crisis Judgement but slightly different in what it can do. Whenever a being is talking or thinking about us in some way, we'll know instantly. We can also sense whenever a woman is peeved." said Zane. "That sounds like the Girlfriend Sense to me mate. Brooke mentioned it to me once." said Allen.
Jordan rolled her eyes as she said,"Even though this conversation is so riveting, what are we going to do about those three? I rather not have to see a fight today.". Without taking her eyes of the twins, Rachel said,"Celina and Izola. You two may know Zane through this Realm of Souls but neither of them haven't been with him for the time I have.". "That may be true Rachel since anyone can tell that you care about Zane. With that in mind, you should know the one place where Zane is truly vulnerable." said Izola.
Arya chimed in with,"Which is where exactly if you don't mind me asking?". "Are you planning to hurt him?" said the trio of Celina, Izola, and Rachel in unison with them glaring at her. "Not in a malicious way! No ma'am! I just want to get him back for all of the teasing!" said Arya. "That's fair. Please don't murder her." said Kevin. "He's right. The place I'm talking about his mind. He may have defenses there sure but he can be still be affected there by a strong enough enemy." said Izola.
The group was slightly confused as Celina said,"Physically speaking, most being can't defeat or compete with him but his mind is another story. My sis here thinks that you need to be there help him take away his fears. I say you did a good job but she didn't.". "Thank you Celina. What makes you think I don't huh?" said Rachel. "If you're his self proclaimed protector of the mind, why did it take several suicidal attempts for him to get better." said Izola. "Several?!" said Lynx.
Izola turned to her as she said,"Yes! I think once the nightmares got a level where he couldn't sleep and this made his more depressing thoughts take center stage. He decided that the only way for him to make amends was for him to die.". Arya looked at Zane who was silent. "Is she telling the truth Zane?" said Arya. "She is. You all saw what happened to me on that day. I'll show you what happened to me later Arya. I was so angry." said Zane.
He clenched his fists as he said,"I used Astral Form to literally destroy everything just to make that bitch pay for what she has done. Wish I could have done that to Bimbo but letting several Prime Forms kick the crap out of her is better than nothing. All of the wounds she gave me caused my Essence to just shattered into pieces. I was being so stubborn about how it was my fault when it honestly wasn't and being quite despondent to my loved ones. I was a total douche back then and I hate it." said Zane.
Celina nodded as she said,"Yes. You were in a great deal of pain and do you know how you recover from it?". "It wasn't from the devil that's for sure." said Izola. "What are you saying?! Rae totally helped Zane get better!" said Efren, slamming his hands on the table. Lynx noticed that everyone except for Izola agree with him. "Oh. Do you seriously think that? If she did, why does Zane still have nightmares about that day?" said Izola.
Kevin crossed his arms as he said,"Because he can never forget anything. Don't you know about Zane having a eidetic memory?". "That may be the scientific reason but no. I thought meeting Rachel would prove me wrong but no. She may claim to have been the one to heal Zane but anyone with a brain can see that Zane is still injured and how you've done nothing to help him. I wonder what the six who died would done in your place but I'm sure all of you have failed Zane." said Izola.
After saying that, the bar's atmosphere got a hundred degrees colder. Rachel stood up and ran out of the bar. "Rae!" said the girls. Arya didn't know Rachel all too well since she only knew about her through Zane but through the Cross Species' words, she could tell that the devil loved him and vise versa. She also knew how cold Izola can be but this was due to a lack of social interaction. She and Celina barely talked with anyone other than their brother and grandfather according to Zane.
Izola blinked as she had Allen on her right with him about to kick her in the neck and his leg was made out of plasma, Efren was about to punch her in the face, Kevin aimed his right gauntlet at her chest, Leo had his sword at her throat, and Wolfram ,in his wolf form, was about to rip her apart. "You'll regret saying that to us and hurting Rae like that is unforgivable." said Allen. "He's right." said the other males except Wolfram who barked. "Go find Rae. I'll try to stop this." said Danny, looking at Zane.
Zane nodded as he warped out of the room. "Huh. He used Direct Transportation to leave!" said Arya as Gwen and Heidi looked at her. "And how do you know that Arya?" said Heidi. "Because I got super max observation skills! Unlike Zane who uses his glasses to look smarter and to prevent people from turning into stone when he's upset, I'm a true glasses character." said Arya, pushing up her glasses and smirking brightly. "Um. I have no idea what's she talking about." said Gwen.
Danny sighed as he said,"I do. Observation is one of the stats you can focus on in Hero Quest.". "Do you play Danny? I've been looking for someone new to play with especially the newest version. It's a RPG and not an MMORPG." said Arya. "I do Arya but first. Guys. Stop." said Danny. The five males looked at Danny with all of them saying,"But...". "I know but there is a reason for her comment right Arya?" said Danny. "She can't read the room whatsoever! Both twins are socially inept!" said Arya.
Izola looked away as Kevin said,"Seriously? I thought she was over a million years old.". "Yeah but we've only started to talk with beings other than our brother and grandpa recently at least for her. Just so you guys know. I'm on your side when it comes to Rachel healing Zane but don't think you could stand a chance against Izola." said Celina. "Whatever. We really don't take kindly to people who make fun of our friends in the way you did." said Allen. "Yeah. What the Brit said." said Efren.
The calm twin nodded as she said,"I understand your anger with me but...". "I would stop talking right now. You're only digging your own grave." said Danny. She stopped as Celina said,"I'm sorry about her you guys. We really didn't want to make things go badly since well, I really want some new friends other than Zane. I know Izola did too but we really care about Zane.". "Oh. That's obvious so let met tell you the story of Zane's recovery." said Danny as he began telling the story.
Dream P.O.V.
Skull Plague had finally done it. He made the Apocageddon happen and Zane couldn't stop him. When he tried to, he was stopped by the people of the Omniverse. For some reason he couldn't understand, they wanted this and he was considered the bad guy for wanting to stop this. The Apocageddon was Skull Plague taking away their free will in order to get whatever they want. When Zane threatened to end Skull Plague's life, his body felt weaker and he had to clench his Essence.
His body was burning up inside and was forced onto his knees. Dark red Carnal chains burst right out of the ground and attached themselves to Zane. Upon contact, Zane thrashed around on the ground and screamed in agony. He was gasping for air as the chains around his neck were tightening. Before he could do anything about this, he was blasted by a giant beam of Carnal and it made a massive explosion upon contact. Zane's vision was engulfed by a bright light as he felt a great deal of pain.
It wasn't like the pain that he felt whenever he was rendered unconscious. He didn't feel the high pitch ringing in his ears and there was no blood coming out of it. The sounds of the Omniverse around it comes in loud and quiet ways. Due to Zane's hyper hearing, he could hear an entire conversation going on from another room. Zane recovered fast and he saw that he was back in Cypress Park but it had changed. It was raining blood and there were several bones protruding from the ground.
It remind Zane of Elysian too damn much and unlike that place, this one pissed him off. Zane noticed that he was still in the chains that bind him and all of the people were ignored him and their changed city. Before Zane could try to convince them, he saw all of Team Maelstrom, his family, and his friends standing in front of him. Zane's eyes widened as he saw them slowly getting engulfed in dark red flames and turning them transparent. "No! Stop it!" shouted Zane with his eyes widened.
Zane heard Skull Plague's voice say,"Oh come on Zaney. You knew this was going to happen to them eventually. I mean you're supposed to be their hero but you failed them in the end.". Zane looked around and saw the Qlarik in front of him. Zane glared at the Qlarik with the intensity of a thousand suns and his anger was leaking out of him. It was rivaling the anger he showed Kilene. His hands were balled up into a fist. "You bastard! I'll kill you!" roared Zane.
Skull Plague sighed as he said,"Seriously. You can be so stubborn but that's just your genetics isn't it Zane? I don't know why that is so endearing to the ladies but who cares? I won. You lose. Accept it already.". "No I won't!" yelled Zane. Skull Plague snapped his fingers with him watching Danny vanish in a plume of black smoke. "Danny! You bastard! I'll kill you!" roared Zane. He was trying his best to break out of his chains while tears of sadness streamed down his face.
This scene was reminding him too damn much of the Massacre and he was unable to prevent the deaths of the people close to him again. One by one, the beings close to Zane died in front of him. When he watched Rachel ,who was the last one to disappear from him, died, he stopped crying and fighting back against his chains. "No. Damn you." said Zane. His eyelids started to get heavy and as he was about to fade out, he heard Skull Plague's laughter.
Flashback Narrator P.O.V.
Zane suddenly woke up in a cold sweat with his right eye feeling like it was going to pop right out of his head. He took a moment to catch his breath before shaking off his daze. "Damn it. I had that same nightmare again!" said Zane. He looked down to see that he was in his hospital room with him dressing in the typical hospital wear and some of his bandages remaining. It was now March and he was still in the hospital.
By this point, he had most of his bandages removed from his body except for the ones around his left eye and his arms. The reason for his eye is obvious but the arms were another story. Both arms were in arms casts that went from his hands to his shoulders. It was impossible for him to bend his elbows due to them being in a sling. This was due to his own paternal grandfather. Around late February, the man hugged Zane so tight that his arms shattered into several pieces.
It would normally take a lot of damage and pressure to shatter Zane’s arms but well, the Cross Species wasn't at his best right now emotionally so he wasn't able to prevent the damage by using one of his many powers. Darin was punished heavily for this by Rachel who proved it true. Whenever a woman becomes a member of the Alvarez family, they become a total badass. She was very close too since Rachel and Zane are a married couple of this point.
Zane sighed as he said,"I need to leave this damn hospital but I can't.". He looked at the window and had an awful idea. He got up from his hospital bed and jumped out of the window. His room was on the third floor of the hospital and for a normal person, this would be a suicide. Zane wasn't normal as he sprout his dragon wings and flew off to a different part of Cypress Park. "I can't believe you Zane. You failed them." said a voice in his head.
It wasn't anyone from Team Legion Zero but one of the past Zeros. "I thought you negative bastards were gone." grumbled Zane as he landed in an alleyway with his wings retreating back into him. "We will never leave you so accept that you're a failure like the rest of us!" shouted all of the previous Zeroes who would constantly belittle him. Zane adjust his headphones over his ears with him putting them properly over his ears and reached into his pocket for his phone.
Despite not having use of his hand, he still had his telekinesis on his side. Once he picked the right song, the earcups of his phones began to work and turned to his right to walk down the sidewalk of the road which leads down further away from the hospital. "Okay. I know what I’m doing is a pretty scummy move since I've been trying to kill myself for a couple of months now but I need some time to think. Hopefully, they won’t kill me once I come back." thought Zane.
The next morning, the patients and staff heard,"He's missing?! Where could he have gone?!". They were sure that it had to due with the patient who had tried to kill himself at least twenty times before stopping due to his family and friends. Rachel stood there with her bangs covered both eyes and she shook in a violent manner. She had been sad lately but right now, she was furious. "Where is Zane? He should be in his hospital room right?!" growled Rachel.
Her Ardor was coming out of her body and forming a very strong aura around her. Team Maelstrom was with her along with Ellie. "He should be." said Ellie. "Then why isn't he?" said Rachel. "Yeah. It's weird since we did chain to his bed literally." said Efren with him holding up the chains that were on the floor and nearby the bed. Both Natasha and Rachel had Parker make these chains for Zane after the fifteenth attempt on his life. It was supposed to keep him here but he wasn't.
Rachel glared at Efren with her saying,"So has anyone tried to sense his Impulse? He has a lot of it right?! So we should be able to find him?!". "Normally, that would work Rae but Zane isn't at his full strength right now. According to our latest test, he's barely producing 0.01% of his max potential." said Ellie. "Okay. That's bad right?" said Allen. "Yes it is. As the hundredth Zero, he has the max potential of every Zero before him." said Ellie.
Wolfram ,in his human form, tilted his head as Sly ,in her human form, sighed and shook her head at the Phantom. "Zane has the ability to destroy entire dimensions if he wanted to and this is without using Astral Form. His max potential is a million percent and we need to find him now." said Sly. Kevin was quiet as Heidi noticed this. "Kevin. Do you know something?" said Heidi. "Do you?!" said Rachel. "I don't think he's going to answer you when you're angry." said Efren.
For his comment, Efren was punched into the wall and he made a crater upon contact. "Ouch. She is really strong when she's angry." muttered Efren. "Yeah. It's like Zane when he's angry." said Leo as he helped the taller man up. "Okay Rae. I thought I saw a bandaged man walking away from the hospital early this morning but I didn't think it was Zane." said Kevin. "You do know that he's suicidal right now Kevin? You should have stopped him." said Jordan.
Kevin sighed as he said,"Of course I should have but I didn't since I thought Zane would be here. The guy I know doesn't like to hurt his friends by getting himself killed. This isn't the Zane I know.". "You have a point there. He hasn't been the same guy we all respect and admired since that day." said Gwen as Wolfram barked in a depressed tone. "I may not know Zane like you guys do but can someone please tell me why everyone I met trust Zane so much?" said Ellie.
Team Maelstrom was quiet as the second in command decided to answer her. "The real reason why we all trust Zane without any doubt is pretty simple. It's because Zane never gives up. Even if the odds are against him, Zane will keep on fighting the bad guys. His main power is never giving up and his motto is that everyone can push past their limits if they have the heart and a good enough reason to do that. He also makes the impossible possible." said Danny.
Danny clenched his fist as he said,"I have an idea. Tell everyone whose available to look for Zane. If I know him like I do, he's here in Cypress Park. It's his home and we will find him. Lets go get back our favorite idiot later guys!". "You got it Danny!" said the group except for Ellie and Rachel. They were gone with the trio of Danny, Ellie, and Rachel were left. "Ellie. Do you mind staying here and inform us if he comes back to the hospital?" said Danny. "You got it Danny." said Ellie.
The normal human was gone as Rachel looked at Danny. "Do you want to go looking for him? I know that he's your brother after all." said Rachel. "I do but I don't think I can reach him right now. Neither Kurt or Lucius could either. Right now, I think you can reach him. You love him right?" said Danny as he was grabbed by Rachel. "Of course I do! You know this!" said Rachel. "Then make sure Zane and his stubborn ass does! I know you can do this Rae!" said Danny.
Rachel backed up as she said,"Wow. You were really channeling your inner Zane there weren't you Danny?". "Yeah. I knew that it would be either me, Gwen, or you who takes up second command of our team when Zane is gone. I'll stay here with Ellie and text everyone to tell you if they find Zane. You got this Rachel Angelise Powell." said Danny. "Thanks and you better not make any jokes about my middle name like Zane does." said Rachel. "No promises." said Danny. The devil was gone after that.
Later, Zane was hobbling away from the hospital using a wooden cane. He made his way into the suburbs of Cypress Park. From what he could tell, he was nearby the park where he used to play at when he was a kid. For a while, Zane had been avoiding all of his usually spots since he could sense one of his friends waiting for him there. He knew that he wasn't at his full strength but he could still sense his friends and hear them.
He was planning on heading to Skyward Point since only Parker knew about that spot. The elder Eazairvian kept that location a secret from everyone since Parker knew that Zane need a place to be alone. "Zane Vincent Alvarez! Get your butt back to the hospital right now! You're not well!" shouted Rachel's voice. As he heard her voice, Zane stopped at a dead end in the alleyway. The Cross Species clenched his fists tight and his stingers pierced his skin.
The floor around him was covered in his blood. "Damn it! I'm so pathetic!" shouted Zane as Rachel stood behind him. Zane turned around and punched the nearby wall with both of his fists. It shattered into several pieces with Zane falling onto his knees. Rachel grabbed his hands with her seeing that his knuckles were bloody and the skin around his hands were bleeding due to the stingers. "Let me go right now Rachel!' said Zane as he stood back.
Zane turned around to hit a nearby wall with Rachel holding him back. "Let me go! Hurting myself is the only way is to make amends with them! I need to die!" shouted Zane. "No it isn't Zane! They wouldn't want to see you hurting yourself!" said Rachel. Zane looked down at her with her crying her eyes out. Zane looked at her with Rachel going in for a hug and not letting him go even as people walked by.
They were curious about the shattered wall, the bandaged man, and the crying beauty who was hugging the bandaged man so tightly. "Why are you hurting so much? How much are you in pain? Be honest with me like you can't with Liv." said Rachel. "Too damn much Rae. I just want this pain to end. I thought that with my ways of healing, I could get over this but it's been too damn long and I can't forget them. I loved them so much and I failed them so much." said Zane in a shaky tone.
Zane began looking up at the sky. Zane could see their face forming in the clouds with his Essence hurting at the sight of them. "I know Zane. I can't either but remember what Liv and everyone has been telling you. Even though the ones we love may died due to the Omniverse fucking us over, they'll still be with us in our hearts." said Rachel, holding him tight. "Yeah but the pain is too strong. Please don't let me go because if you do, I'll keep thinking about them." said Zane. "Okay." said Rachel.
A few minutes later, Rachel texted the search party that he found Zane and told them to leave this to her much to their disagreement. Danny and oddly Malik vouched her since both of them believed she could bring back the sunshine. The devil put her phone away as she looked at Zane. The two were at Skyward Point with Zane sitting under the tree and just staring out over Cypress Park. Rachel walked over to him as Zane said,"Hey Rae.". "Yes." said Rachel, turning to her bandaged up boyfriend.
Zane took a deep breath as he said,"How would you feel if you, me, the kids, and Wolfram leave Cypress Park? I learned something from this event being that even after I left to get strong so I can protect everything I hold dear, I'm still doomed to failure. I know that moving away won't escape my fate as Zero Rae but this place has some memories associated with it good and bad.". Rachel looked down at her hands as she said,"I can't do that and neither can you.".
She turned to Zane with her saying,"You're just running away from your problems rather than dealing with them head on! That isn’t something the man I love does! He faces them head on rather than cowers from them! I know how much this place means to you Zane and running away will only hurt you more.". Zane was silent as Rachel held his left hand. "When we first met, I wanted you to give me a happy life in Cypress Park and away from my sisters." said Rachel.
Zane looked at her with him screaming,"Which I failed at doing! Karen, Kristen, Nova, Rain, Roxy, and Sierra died because I was too scared on using my full power! I can't stop seeing them dying in front of me Rae! Every time I open my eyes, I see them dying! I dream of them dying and to add insult, I see all of you! I can't take it anymore! I just want to die!". His stingers were coming out of his wrists and he couldn't do anything with them.
The Cross Species turned from her with him hiding his crying eye from Rachel. "Do you think I want to leave everyone behind just because I'm scared? No. I just don't want to be reminded of how much I fucked up and I'm sure I'll remember them when I leave the hospital." said Zane. Rachel walked over to look at him with her saying,"Zane. I know that you really miss them and blame yourself for their deaths even though it wasn't your fault.".
Rachel knew that Zane had a special spot that he likes to be scratch behind his ear. It reminded her of a dog but Wolfram likes to be around people. Whenever the Phantom dog is happy, his tail wags faster than it does normally. In his form, his arms and body began to do the hula dance. She did that for him as the stingers were gone. "I'll be here for you always but we can't keep looking in the past. Cypress Park is our home. We love it too much to leave." said Rachel.
Zane nodded as she said,"That may be the case but I can't help but think you're ignoring the bad aspects of it." . "Yeah. There are some bad things that happened in Cypress Park but there are more good things. Fantasia, all of our friends and the memories we made together, and most of all, I met the being I'm going to spend my eternal life with." said Rachel. Zane was quiet as Rachel looked at him. She knew that he wasn't going to be talking.
The Cross Species looked at her as he said,"Do I deserve love? They gave me their love and what did I do with it? I let them die in front of me because I didn't use my full power on those bitches!". The devil knew that she need a different tactic in getting Zane out of this depressing and self deprecating funk he found himself in. She slapped him, leaving a stinging in his face. "Listen here Zane! I know that you’re hurting but you need to listen. You deserve love." said Rachel.
Zane looked at her as she said,"I love you even though you have your flaws. All of your friends and family love you so damn much because you were there for them in their time of need for all of them Zane. Ana, Atem, Uriel, Wolfram, and Zoey needed a family and you gave them one. Every being in the Omniverse deserves love and that includes you too.". She hugged him and Zane returned the hug. The two stayed there until Zane told her he need to go back to the hospital.
The two returned back to the hospital where Zane saw all of his friends ,ranging from his human friends like Brad and Hannah to his not human friends like Liv and Malik, waiting for him and he waved back to them. "So just to ask a hypothetical question, did you happen to tell my mom about me leaving the hospital after trying to kill myself? I really don't have any of my strength right now so I'm pretty blind right now." said Zane. "I did." said Rachel.
Zane sighed as he said,"Okay. I guess this is my punishment for trying to escape.". "Zane Vincent Alvarez! What were you doing outside of the hospital and what is this I'm hearing about you trying to kill yourself?!" said a feminine voice. "Wait. She didn't know about me trying to kill myself?" said Zane with him looking at Rachel in a noticeable state of fear. "Is someone scared of their mom?" said Rachel in a teasing tone.
The Cross Species looked at her with a serious look as he said,"When their mother is able to send a guy of Darin and Theron's size through a building, extremely. I saw this when I was four years old and could never forget that day". Zane saw Natasha standing there with a very scared Shawn hiding right behind her. Instead of the sweet Natasha Zane was used to seeing, he was currently seeing the roaring and never ending flames of feminine fury that she kept buried most of the time.
Even though she was just a normal human, Natasha looked to be ten feet tall with glowing eyes and said flames were burning the ground she was standing on. "Thank you for getting him back Rachel. I really do appreciate it. Do you mind standing next to me? I'm sure my son has enough strength to stand on his own." said Natasha with her voice sounding sweet yet sinster. "Sure thing Mrs. Alvarez. I don't mind at all." said Rachel."You're a traitor Rae." whispered Zane.
Rachel smiled at him as she said,"Nope. Time for you to learn your place.".She walked over to the older redhead as Shawn said,"Hey there sport. Me and the wife heard about what's been going on or the past couple of weeks thanks to Leo and well...". "It's fine dad. I had this coming so ladies. Hit me with your best shot." said Zane, standing there. The two redheads nodded with Rachel slapping him in the face so hard that he fell onto the ground. "Okay. I earned that." groaned Zane.
No one watching this was going to defend Zane. He had this coming due to him hurting them all with his actions for the past couple of months. Out of everyone that he hurt, Rachel was the one he hurt the most with his actions. He practically ignored her after losing six of his loves at once. She had been by his side for almost two months and ignored her. If he wasn't still recovering from his injuries, Team Maelstrom would have kicked his ass for doing that to her.
With a simple glare, Rachel began to tell Zane how she felt. "That slap was making me and everyone else worry to death about you dummy! I hate how stubborn you can be sometimes. You almost died by the hands of that bitch and I don't want to lose you too dummy!" screamed Rachel. Her face was bright red and she was crying. "Sorry Rae. I know that I've been an selfish asshole for the past six months but I'm better now. Don't worry okay?" said Zane.
He smiled at her with him saying,"I'm not going to die any time soon because well, I have to keep on living for you and the others.". In response to this, Rachel grabbed Zane's face and kissed him. "You better not be lying or else, I'll hurt you a great deal." said Rachel with her putting her forehead against Zane's. The rest of Team Maelstrom smiled at how the two as a couple works being that it's a rather strange one to say the very least. "I won't Rae. I promise but first..." said Zane.
It was now Natasha's turn as she grabbed Zane's collar and began shaking him. He was looking like a blur of bandages. "You freaking moron of a child! Why must you and your father make me constantly worry?! You're my son and I keep almost losing you! You're only nineteen years old and you've almost died fifty times in the past three years!" screamed Natasha at the top of her lungs. Shawn looked at his wife and needed to tell her something important. "Um honey." said Shawn.
This caused Natasha to glare at him. "What could possibly be so important that you have to tell me this right now?" said Natasha as a image of a hannya mask appeared behind her. Even though Shawn was scared to his very core of his wife right now, he needed to stand his ground. "Beloved. I think it's a big deal for me to do this since you're shaking our son too much for him to well answer your very important questions." said Shawn.
He was pointing at Zane whose remaining eye was spinning and his soul look to be floating out of his body. "Oh that makes sense." said Natasha. Once Zane had recovered, he knew that he need to say something. "I'm sorry for hurting you two and really everyone who cares about me. I've been in a really bad place for a while now but that's going to change soon. I will get stronger to protect all of you I promise on my life!" said Zane, bowing to the group in front of him.
The Cross Species bowed to them mainly to avoid his mother's glare that could possibly cut a mountain in half. Zane always tried to stay on her good side but lately, he hasn't. "Explain everything right now Zane Vincent Alvarez!" said Natasha with her staring at her son and her teeth looked have to become fangs. "You got it mom." said Zane with him staring directly into his mother's eyes. As Zane explained himself, Rachel were both pissed and happy that Zane was slowly recovering from the Massacre.
Narrator P.O.V.
At Skyward Point, Rachel sat under the tree and looked out over Cypress Park. "Hey there. Mind if I join you?" said a voice. She turned to see Zane standing there with him holding two slushies. "Sure Zane." said Rachel. Zane sat next to her with him passing her a slushie. "I'm sorry." said Zane. "Why are you saying that?" said Rachel. "I made you run out of the bar because of one of my friends. I totally forgot how socially unaware she really is." said Zane.
He sipped on his slushie as he said,"Her grandfather raised both Celina and Izola in a manner like homeschooling and that brings its own set of problems. I was the first being that they interacted outside of the brother whom you met.". "Let me guess. He's just as rude as she is." said Rachel. "Not really. Do you remember Callum?" said Zane. "Callum? He is your Alliance friend. He is her brother?! Are they or he adopted?" said Rachel.
Zane shook his head as he said,"Neither one of them is adopted Rae. Both of them were created by their grandfather.". "Um. I think some context is needed." said Rachel. "It's complicated. Let me just show you through the same way you learned about the Massacre from my perspective." said Zane. He placed his hand on her forehead and she began seeing Zane's memories with the twins. "Wow." said Rachel after Zane removed his hand.
Without warning, she punched him as he said,"I would say ouch but honestly, it didn't hurt.". "I really didn't like seeing you like that dummy but are you sure about this power? I mean you can have it removed right?" said Rachel. "Yeah but I'm sure that Skull Plague won't be expecting this since no other Zero would dare using this power to defeat their greatest enemy. So do you want to go back? I think Danny is done telling Arya, Lynx, and the twins about it." said Zane.
Rachel nodded as she said,"I do but for some reason, my legs stopped working. I guess I overworked them by running here.". "Seriously Rae? I know that I trained your legs to survive a longer run. Let me guess. Are you trying to get me to carry you like a queen?" said Zane. "Yep." said Rachel. "Sometimes you can be so selfish but I won't say that I hate that side of you or any side of you." said Zane as he held her in his arms. Rachel kissed him as he flew back to the Velvet Spoon.
In the Velvet Spoon, Izola was looking away from the group as Arya sniffed. "Rachel really likes Zane and you knew she could bring him back. That's so cool." said Arya. "Yeah. You're not bad like I thought robot boy." said Celina, hugging Wolfram. "While Zane may be impossible to read sometimes, Rae was more than capable of getting him out of that funk." said Danny. "So why aren't you saying anything? I guess you were wrong about Rae being unable to help him." said Kevin, looking at Izola.
Efren nodded as he said,"Yeah. While your sister and maybe you may be good at arm wrestling, I guess you don't know how strong their bond is.". "But I'm not wrong." muttered Izola. "Guys. Lay off her okay?" said a voice as the group turned to see Rachel and Zane standing there. "Rae!" said Leo and Wolfram. The two went to hug her as she smiled. "I'm fine. Zane comforted me." said Rachel as she hugged the Phantom and vampire. "Zero. I'm...." said Izola.
Within seconds, Zane flicked her on the forehead and Arya's eyes widened. "Oh wow. He just flicked one of Rumos's creations." said Arya. "And is this Rumos a powerful being?" said Gwen. "From what Zane told me, yes. Rumos is on the same level as a Phacoris." said Arya. "You mean the same species who created the entire Omniverse?" said Heidi. "Oh wow. I'm not a betting man but I guess that his creations are pretty strong too." said Allen. "That's correct. We are pretty strong." said Celina.
Izola rubbed her forehead as she said,"Why did you do that Zero? I can handle a simple flick from you but infusing your Impulse into it, it really hurts.". "Because you were being rude to my fiancée. I know that you two have trouble reading the room but being mean to my friends usually means one thing." said Zane. "I know that but...." said Izola. "Yeah. I know that you two saw it through the Realm of Souls but it's a much different experience when you're actually experiencing it." said Zane.
Zane smiled as he said,"Do you remember how your first burger tasted?". "I do." said Izola. "Me too since you disliking onions will never not be funny since she's the cool one." said Celina. "So what's the point of all this?" said Izola with her glaring at her sister from bringing that up. "While I may not be fully healed from that day, I'm okay. I got great beings to count on and have my back unlike most Zeroes before. I know you're worried about losing me but I'm not abandoning you got it?" said Zane.
Izola nodded as she said,"Okay but tell me why you like Rachel. I mean I saw how you could love her but I doubt you judge someone's self worth by their outer appearance. You tend to judge beings by their inner appearance instead.". "Which is awesome." said Celina. "Yeah I really do. Well. I've always been interested in Rae ever since third grade. I've protected her from some bullies like my big brothers I did for me. My bullies were giant animals not third graders but you get my point." said Zane.
Zane looked at Rachel as he said,"As we got closer, I always loved how she treats others and she is someone who'll have your back no matter what. She and Danny helped me get out of the depression that I was in after my dad went to the Infinite Void. I didn't even that I was suffering from it but they helped me through it. Those two along with the rest of Team Maelstrom, my family, and my friends helped me after the Massacre. I'll fully admit to that. You, your sister, and the old man helped as well.".
Danny walked over to Izola as he said,"Do you know why Zane push himself too far?". "Not really. I always just presume that it was his secret desire of being the strongest and ruling over the weak." said Izola. "I don't have the desire." said Zane. "Yes you do." said Arya and Sly. "Ha! I told you that I'm not the only one who thinks that!" said Celina with Zane sulking. "While that may be true, he has a lot of people who count on me and letting them down is something he can't let happen." said Danny..
Rachel nodded as she said,"There is a famous Alvarez saying. Making mistakes will happen but that's just life. Nothing in life is perfect but that's how I want it and wouldn't change it for nothing.". "That's true. Look Rachel, I'm sorry for what I said to you. I guess I judged you as someone who used Zane for his body and nothing else. I just care for him dearly since he was the first real being outside our family that I have ever met." said Izola.
Gwen looked at Zane as she said,"Um what does she mean by that? While I don't know anything about the Tregalvo, I'm pretty sure that they're a more social species and what is this Realm of Souls you two keep mentioning.". "It's complicated." said Zane. "Is that seriously the only answer you're going to give me Zane?" said Gwen. "To be fair, grandpa would like to keep the Realm of Souls a close knit secret. I have a question for you two." said Celina, pointing to Danny and Rachel.
Danny looked at her as he said,"What is it?". "I will tell you how we met Zane if you two answer me some questions that I didn't get during the flashbacks." said Celina. "Wait Celina. You saw actually a real flashback?" said Arya. "I did." said Celina. "Man. I'm so jelly." said Arya. "Should I ask what you two are talking about?" said Heidi. "It's better not to ask with them. Just go with it." said Izola. "I feel like you can say that for a lot of Zane's friends." said Heidi.
Zane nodded as he said,"Yeah. I mean we do this with Efren and we like him.". "That's true but at least he makes sense most of the times at least compared to these two." said Heidi. "Hey thanks. You're a rocking girl too." said Efren with him giving her a thumbs up. "You do know that she's making fun of you right?" said Jordan. "I think he's just happy to get a compliment from her since those two tend to argue the most between each other." said Lynx.
Rachel looked at Celina as she said,"So what do you want to know about us?". "It's simple. I would like to know why Zane consider robot boy to be her brother and how he proposed to you Rachel." said Celina. "Um sure and you can call me Danny. I mean the only people who call by my full name are my mom and sister, Gwen when I do something stupid, and Zane when he's teasing me. Robot Boy is something Zane calls me." said Danny.
Celina smiled as she said,"Of course it is. I'm good at coming up with Zane style nicknames unlike my sister here. I bet you're jealous aren't you?". "I don't think that's a talent anyone would have. I like Zane a lot but his naming for most things is awful." said Izola. Zane sulked as Wolfram comforted his father like figure. "So do you want to go first or should I?" said Rachel. "Rock, paper, clippers?" said Danny with a shrug. "Sure." said Rachel. The two play the game with Rachel winning.
Flashback P.O.V.
Around late March, Zane ,bandage free and back to full strength, was walking out of the hospital with him saying to Team Maelstrom,"I'm finally free from that hell and can move on with my life! You're excited too right guys?!". "I guess so man but the nurses in there were pretty hot. The Alliance nurses are just the best." said Kevin. "But most of them have significant others unlike you." said Sly, causing the male to sulk and the Phantom dog was snickering.
Allen shook his head as he said,"So what's the first thing you're going to do since you're finally free official mate? I really do hope that it doesn’t have to do with food.". "It's obvious Allen. We’re going to be there to help him out in whatever it may be since he does that for us." said Danny. Allen was confused by Danny answering him instead of Zane but got his answer soon. Zane turned to Rachel and grabbed both of hers hands with his left. "You." said Zane.
Zane looked right at Rachel with her saying,"Is there something wrong?". "Listen Rachel." said Zane as he grabbed something resting in his pocket. "Yes. I'm listening to you. You can tell me anything you know that Zane?" said Rachel. "Even with me making mistakes, I did something right. I found you and saved you from Blaze. I need to stop hiding from what will be the biggest choice I have to make." said Zane with him smiling.
Rachel looked at the others with the entire group confused at his actions except for Danny who knows exactly what Zane is going do. "I've been thinking about doing this for almost a decade now and I need to make sure you know how you feel about it. I also want to make sure that everyone else knows this as well. Planning on killing two birds with one stone both figuratively and literally." said Zane. He pulled something out of his pocket with it being a small black ring box.
The entire team looked at him in shock except for Zane as Zane said,"And this is the biggest proof I can think of so time for me to man up already. This is proof of how important you are and I need to show how much I love you.". "Zane. Is this the place? I mean the hospital isn't the most romantic place in Cypress Park?" said Jordan. Zane smiled with him opening the small black box and revealed the ring that Rachel wears in the future.
Zane looked at Rachel as he said,"Of course it is Jordan. Rachel Angelise Powell. I've been a huge supporter of love but love at first sight is something only Hollywood could come up with. For us, it makes totally sense. I promise to be the person who you laugh with, being the shoulder you cry on, and I'll be there for you always since I know you will do the same for me. I'll do whatever it takes to protect you no matter what.".
Rachel looked stunned at Zane with Zane turning to Danny. "So how am I doing man? I feel like I'm fucking up bad." said Zane. "Just relax man. You got this. I mean you've been practicing this little speech ever since you saved her from that perverted gecko. You can't possibly mess this up." said Danny with him shaking his head. "So is that going to happen with you and Gwen sometime in the future? You better not be planning on showing me up anytime soon." said Zane.
Danny shrugged as he said,"Maybe but just get back to it man.". "Gotcha. Rachel. I've been trying to find the best way to do this but honestly, I should do what I do best. Talking without thinking about the consequences and right now, I really want to marry you. I was totally afraid of commitment but that was me pre-Massacre. The me after it is slightly more mature and probably way more cooler. I'm not scared about this. When I'm by your side Rae, I feel invincible when I'm with you." said Zane.
Kevin said with a smile,"Which is totally impossible by the way.". This comment got hit him by the trio of Gwen, Heidi, and Jordan. "Dude. Why are you trying to interrupt his proposal? I thought you weren't going to be a douchebag anymore." said Leo. "It's obvious isn't it man? Zane need to make sure that he doesn't mess this up and by doing this, he has time to think." said Kevin with an obvious look on his voice. "Ah! That does make sense." said Leo. "Idiots. The both of you." said Sly as Wolfram nodded.
Zane smiled as he said,"Thanks for your help guys but I got this.". "I'm so proud of you right now." said Danny as he sniffed. "Thanks but you need to cue the waterworks. That'll come later from Efren not you man." said Zane as he put his left hand on Danny's shoulder. As this was going on, Rachel stomped her legs and crossed her arms. She wanted Zane to ask her to marry him already since he's taking forever to ask her.
The Cross Species turned to her as he said,"I know that I come with a lot of issues mainly emotional ones. Marrying me will involve Danny being a major part of our marriage since he's going to one of my best men. From this day onward, I'll be there by your side and protecting you from anything you might find scary. My arms will always be open for you Rachel. I love every part of you. When I wake up by your side, I'll always be giving you the biggest smile in the Omniverse.".
Efren was jumping up and down with him saying,"Oh gods. This is actually happening. Say yes already Rae!". "Yes!" said Rachel. "But you said yes to Efren no me. Do you want to marry him Rae because I can totally understand. He’s quite the physical specimen and comes way less issues maybe. Who knows with him?" said Zane. "No you dummy! Ask me already! I've wanted you to proposed to me for almost a decade now and...." said Rachel with a bright red face.
Zane began laughing with Rachel looking at him in anger. Her body had a noticeable glow of Ardor around it. "What's so funny?! You're not being the brave dummy I love! That's right! I want you to be my husband! You’re being a jerk!" said Rachel with her arms crossed and had an angry looking pout. "I know that I really shouldn't laugh but I can't help it." said Zane. "Zane Vincent Alvarez! I can't believe you right now!" said Rachel, pouting.
After he stopped laughing, Zane got in the proposing position. "You're just the best Rae! I've been thinking about proposing you for that long too. Will you marry me Rachel and be part of this crazy world I found myself in? And when Danny finally gets the nerve to marry Gwen one of these day, me and Rachel will be your guys best man and chief bridesmaid respectively mind you." said Zane with him pointing to Danny who shrugged.
Zane turned back to Rachel as he said,"Oh do you know why is it called chief bridesmaid? Or you may be the matron of honor if you get married before their wedding We're going to have kids other than Atem, Uriel, and Zoey right?". "Yes to the kids and no idea on the whole bridesmaid thing. We’ll cross that bridge when we get then." said Rachel. "Oh just marry me so I can shut up." said Zane. "Yes. I will marry the fuck out of you Zane Vincent Alvarez but give me the damn ring already!" said Rachel.
The hero placed the ring on her left ring finger and hugged her tight. "Thanks for being there for me at my lowest Rae. I promise to be the best damn husband in the Omniverse." said Zane with a smile on his face. The group there had never seen such a big smile on his face. His smile had returned back to them and it was a warming presence. "You better Zane because I'm going to be the best damn wife in the Omniverse. We need to match after all." said Rachel with her smiling as well.
It was filled with an extreme amount of joy. The two looked at each other and kissed each other. "Oh my freaking gods!" said Efren. The couple turned to Efren who was crying literal waterfalls like Zane predicted. "Calm down Efren. You're going to run out of water at this rate." said Jordan, wiping away tears herself. "I'm sorry but I can't help it! This is so damn romantic!" said Efren. "Yeah! You're going to be my dad's wife! Which makes you my mom too!" said Wolfram as he hugged Rachel.
Danny gave Zane a fist bump as he said,"Way to go man. You totally rock that proposal the Zane Alvarez way.". "Thanks a lot man." said Zane. "This ring is so beautiful." said Rachel. "Thanks. I worked really hard on it." said Zane. "Wait. You didn't buy this?" said Rachel, looking at him. "Well yeah. I've been in the hospital for the past six months. When would I have the chance to leave and buy it? Plus this ring here is shows how much I love you." said Zane. "Thank you Zane." said Rachel.
Zane shook his head as he said,"No Rachel. Thank you for being with me every step through my recovery. I also need to thank you guys in Team Maelstrom plus so much many other people and what I plan on doing it will bring back the Zane you know and love I promise.". "It better man because I miss my best friend." said Kevin. The team celebrated the bonding of the Protector of Earth/Omniverse and the Akostar Clan's princess. Up next is how Danny and Zane become brothers.
Danny was waiting patiently for Zane to show up since his best friend had asked to meet him here at the first Fantasia they went to when they were kids. "Seriously Rae. I know Zane is leaving for a year to help with the Alliance but can you at least spare him for an hour? I have to get back to Taelamelan for school since I'll fail if I don't go back." thought Danny whose arms were crossed and was tapping his toes.
The technorganic being heard,"Hey Danny! Sorry I’m late but you know how clingy Rae can be when it comes to me leaving for business trips.". "It’s fine man. So why did you…" said Danny, turning around to see his best friend running up to him holding a bottle of sake and two small sake cups. His signature smile was plastered on his face. "So why do you have a bottle of booze with you? I know you're an alcohol but I'm not. Rae may be accepting of your bad habits but Gwen isn't." said Danny.
Zane nodded as he said,"Because I wanted to and Gwen is super strict. She needs to relax.". "Please tell me that you’re not drunk right now and is that even possible for you? I’ve seen you drink barrels of beer and according to Henry, you out drank a brewer at Lucius’s bachelor party.” said Danny. "Nope! I want you to guess why I have this and if you get it wrong, I’ll tell Gwen about how you want to marry her really soon." said Zane.
Danny blushed as he said,"What?! I don’t want to marry Gwen! What are you talking about man?! Are you crazy?". "Danny. I've known you for most of my life. You love Gwen just like I love Rae. Now guess. I don't think my clone will be able to keep Rae busy for too much longer. She's really good at identifying them despite them being almost identical." said Zane. "I honestly have no idea how she does that. So what’s with the booze then?" said Danny.
Zane sighed as he said,"Seriously? God. You really can be an idiot sometimes man. I want to share it with you idiot.". Zane opened the bottle and poured some into each cup. The nineteen year old was still lost. "Okay then. Do you remember how I told you about the time that me and my brothers became well brothers." said Zane. "Yeah. You were four years old at the time and asked how Lucius and Kurt were brothers despite not sharing blood." said Danny.
The Cross Species nodded as he said,"Well, this is how we did it duh. I mean we could share blood but that’s not my thing and I know it’s not your thing. Kurt told me that if two men drink together, they're brothers. Blood be damned!". He handed Danny his saucer/cup and placed the bottle down. "Okay but are you sure about this man? I mean me as your brother." said Danny with him being flicked in the forehead hard. "Ow. What the hell? Really hate your strength is back." said Danny.
Zane sighed as he said,"Seriously? And people call me stupid. You've been by my side since forever so why in the nine realms would I not want you as my brother?!". Danny was touched by his friend’s words and was trying to fight back the tears. "I mean if you don’t want to be my brother, I could ask Allen or Efren." said Zane with him teasing Danny but sounded hurt. Danny punched his friend’s arm with him smiling. "Don't joke like that man." said Danny.
He smiled as he said,"I’ve always considered you to be like my brother ever since middle school. We don’t need this stupid ceremony to do it but whatever. I've always respected your customs.". "Okay then! Lets do it! We need to do this quickly before Gwen and Rachel finds out. They're really good about finding us." said Zane. The two slammed their cups together, pulled them, and downed the liquid inside. This made them brothers.
Narrator P.O.V.
Celina smiled as she said,"Those were both sweet stories.". "Yeah it really is. How about you and me become brothers Zane? I mean we both love to drink." said Efren. "How about no? I like you Efren I really do but both you and Heidi are lightweights. At least Danny can handle a couple of shots before passing out." said Zane. "Curses. I've been foiled against my inability to drink." said Efren. "Would I be a lightweight?" said Wolfram. "No clue. I don't think we should give you alcohol." said Sly.
Wolfram sulked as Allen said,"So since they told you how they got closer to Zane, do you mind telling us how the twins met Zane?". "Yes I will Allen. It's an interesting story and around the time Zane was in the hospital. I could never figure out when since those two don't tell me nothing but from what I can tell, it was around the time Zane's mother talked to him about almost dying and running away from the hospital." said Izola. This flashback will be a long one.
Flashback Narrator P.O.V.
Zane's physical wounds had long since recovered and had been about three weeks since his surgery to remove the tumor inside of him. He now had his prosthetic eye inside of him to replace the eye he can never regain. Even though his physical wounds had long since recovered, his mental wounds haven't healed whatsoever. He couldn't stop himself from thinking about he failed by not being able to prevent the death of the six women who loved him.
Ever since he woke up from his two week long coma that was a result of overworking his body, Zane's signature confidence vanished and left behind a husk of his former self. Even with all of the power that Zane had at his disposal, he couldn’t save the girls and was now without their support in his dream to save the Omniverse from Skull Plague. Their promising futures were destroyed because of him as well but he blaming himself for killing them rather their dreams.
He felt truly all alone without them by his side. After Rachel and all of his friends convinced him that his mindset of killing himself to make amends with them is very wrong, he asked to be alone. He wasn't going to kill himself but he just wanted to be alone with only his memories as company. There was memories of Team Maelstrom, his home Cypress Park, all of his friends he made as Legion Zero and Zane, and the family that he treasured more than anything would be those he would sacrificed himself.
Zane then remembered his lovers Karen, Kristen, Nova, Rachel, Rain, Roxy, and Sierra. Those seven woman shared his Essence and all but one perished at the hands of a single being who in no way deserve the power she was given. Whenever Zane closed his eyes, he could see all of his friends falling to her and his enemies who wanted to hurt him in a way that Zane couldn’t heal from. One by one, his treasure slowly began to die right in front of him.
Pissed off with himself, Zane slammed his left fist over and over again on the table in front of him. This table was the innocent object that Zane was taking his rage on and in due time, the rage would leave his body and left him a shell of his former self. "Gods damn it. I need to think about the good things but for some reason, I keep thinking about the negative instead of the positives." said Zane. Due to him being unaware of what was going on since he was still recovering, a nurse had entered the room.
The reason why she entered the room was to drop off a slushie that was going to heal him according to a doctor who looked handsome. The slushie was a dark purple color with a hint of cherry red in there. The nurse presumed that it was from Fantasia since she and the rest of the hospital staff was well aware of the Cross Species' love/addiction ,depending on who you're asking. to the drive-in fast-food restaurant chain that was all over Florida. She left the room with Zane taking the slushie and drinking it within seconds.
Once he got the first part of it down, the hero could instantly tell that this slushie wasn't from Fantasia for a couple of reasons. The first reason was that he gagged shortly after consumption which he has never done before. The second reason was that it had a strong exotic taste to it. The third reason was that it left behind a extremely bitter taste in his mouth. Zane has eaten bitter food before but this slushie was bothering his digestion.
The taste of it was so bad that it reminded of the time when he was forced to eat his way through a dump of the most disgusting food laced with a thick layer of poison and was drenched in a pool of sweaty gathered up by several pro athletes. It was to help save someone so eating all of that disgusting garbage was worth it. At that time, he was in Gluttony Form and not even that disgusting meal could rival that disgusting slushie.
His face had a strong green tint to it. He began to scratch his tongue in order to get rid of the taste from his mouth. His stomach rumbled loudly like it does whenever he hasn't eaten for a long period of time or when he overuses his powers. Zane's eyes widened as he coughed up a royal blue substance that reminded him of tar. It reminded him of whenever he puked up blood with him beginning to writhe on the hospital bed in pain.
Without thinking about it, he smacked the slushie out on the ground and Zane's eyes were rolled up his head, revealing the whites of his eyes. He couldn't call out for a nurse since he couldn't stop throwing up tar which wasn't normal for him since to his knowledge, none of his forms could use asphalt. His body was convulsing as tar became coming out of his eyes and began cutting itself. As every part of his body was bleeding, Zane looked at himself.
The Cross Species only had one thought on his mind. "Crap! That slushie was poisoned! Why didn't Crisis Judgement alert me to it?! Is it on the fritz?! Why now of all times?" thought Zane. His ears, eyes, mouth, nose, and many other places were producing tar by the gallons. Zane couldn't handle the pain anymore and began to scream loudly in agony. "Why the hell isn't anyone here to help me?! Time isn't frozen and I'm screaming louder than a fucking banshee! Is this it? Am I dying? No!" thought Zane.
Zane wouldn't die like this since he knew that his family, friends, and Rae would be heartbroken if he died so him dying isn't going to happen any time soon. He started to get out of the hospital bed despite the large amount of pain he was currently feeling alongside the amount of tar he was producing at an alarming rate. As he crawled toward the door, Zane looked at his body and saw that it was melting in front of him. It was also glowing royal blue and he stopped moving.
Despite this, Zane kept going since his will was too strong. The glow around his body was growing stronger by the minute. "I can't die today. I just lost those six girls and I won't lose anyone ever again! I promise them that!" groaned Zane with his body slowly standing back up. It was practically impossible for him and screamed at the top of his lungs,"I won't die! No matter what!". After saying that, Zane's body exploded and the royal blue glow covered the entire area.
The glow eventually faded away as the only thing that was left in the room was the tar and the Galaxy Phones that Zane was wearing. It may have looked like Zane had died but if he died, Parker would know about it since the Z.E.R.O. Watch would have alerted him about it. After a few moments, Zane noticed that he wasn't dead. He slowly opened his eyes with him groaning and looked around to see that he wasn't in the hospital room that he had found himself in for the past five months.
It was oddly calming. He was wondering if he found himself in heaven or the Astral Realm which is where all Zeroes end up once they kick the butt. The Zeroes's negativity on the other hands goes to the next Zero which has led to a couple of Zeroes dying from their ancestors giving them shit from their actions and telling them how they would do it instead. One of the things he learned from Leif during one of their bimonthly chats.
This place wasn't either the typical white void aka his mindscape or the corpse covered void aka Elysian. He found himself resting on a rather soft silver velvet sofa and instead of his hospital gown, he was his Legion Zero Zeta Costume. All of his injuries were gone as well. "So where am I? I'm definitely not dead or in Kansas. I also didn't puke when I got here since this is clearly another dimension or maybe I don't puke when I come here." said Zane.
He stretched with his hyper hearing picking up on some soft sounding music that wouldn't be out of place in a jazz club. "I'm digging this music even though I detect a lack of guitar. Why am I not concerned on where I am right now? And why am I talking to myself? I think I've gone insane." said Zane. He sat up and among the soft sounding music, Zane could hear two voices talking to each other with one voice being louder than the other and they both sounded feminine.
The first voice said,"I can't believe this sis!". "Believe what sister? You've wanted to meet him for a while now." said a second voice. The first voice was more aggressive and the second voice sounded reserved. "Yeah I did but right now? He's still recovering!" said the first voice. "That was the case but he's better now. Are you doing grandfather's judgement Celina?" said the second voice. "Of course I'm not Izola! Gramps is one of the smartest beings in the Omniverse but...." said Celina.
Zane blinked as he said,"So should I go try and find those two or just stay here? I know it should be the former but I'm feeling the latter more.". Crisis Judgement went off as the couch began moving. Zane held on tight and began looking around. The world around him began to change as he saw the couch was moving along nothing and it reminded him of the Universe Path except without the bright white path that connected the dimensions.
All around him, there was an unbounded maroon colored space around. It was covered in countless bright glowing stars and several golden clouds. It reminded him of outer space except he could breathe and move around with ease. The couch eventually stopped with Zane getting thrown off it and he landed on a carpet. The carpet was a golden color with several royal blue playing cards ,all having a steel gray "S" in the center of each card, emblazoned on it.
Celina said,"Okay. That looked painful. He's probably out cold or dead.". Zane couldn't see her but could identify her by her voice. "I have to agree with Celina's assessment. While I'm not at all against bringing him here, why did you have to do it in that manner? It was graphic and mentally scaring." said Izola. "Hey gramps! We abduct him without permission and he'll probably think we're the enemy of something." said Celina.
Izola looked at her sister as she said,"I mean in a fight, we would win but I rather not beat someone who isn't at their full strength.". "Do not worry you two. I'm sure that he won't attack since he has no idea where or where he is. You may come up now Zane. We can be trusted." said a elderly male voice that was deep and soothing. It remind Zane of a warm fire. "He's awake?! But he got flung from the couch like a booger!" said the two females in unison. "Of course he is." said the elderly voice.
The man chuckled as he said,"And flung like a booger? How childish you two. I know that you two are excited about having Zero here but try to act professional.". Zane knew that he couldn't keep them waiting any longer since the elderly voice was right n the fact that he didn't where or when he was. He also doesn't attack others without a reason. It didn't matter if the reason good or not. He wouldn't attack unless he had a reason.
He sat back up and he saw three beings looking at him with interest. One of the trio was male with the other two being female. They were also a noticeable age difference between the genders. The male was behind a black wooden desk that looked to made out of mahogany. The girls were to the side of the table. He's a severe-looking old man with long white hair and a beard that resemble a burning flame. He has orange colored eyes which reminded Zane of several beings that he knew.
They were eyes that have lived through several centuries, have plenty of wisdom behind them, and a hint of curiosity to them. His right eye has a black and gold monocle over it with it being one way. He wears a long, billowing black and gold haori like robe with his robe having a starry night runic glyph markings to it and hood. Under his robe, he wears a white shirt and navy blue hakama style pants. He wears brown boots. He carries a wooden stick that in Zane's experience, it's using for three reasons.
A wooden stick's three main reasons for use are walking, looking wise, and hitting people. He had seen his fair share of people getting whacked with wooden sticks mainly from elderly woman who Rico peeped on once. The two females were a shorter by four inches and couple years younger version of Celina and Izola. Celina's hair was also down to her waist rather than her shoulders. "So where or when am I? And why did you bring me here in the first place?" said Zane.
Celina glared at him as she said,"Quit asking questions and let grandpa talk!". "I will do that but first, so which one of you is Celina? If you tell me that, I can figured out which one is Izola." said Zane with a smile. "How do you know our names? I'm Izola. Does that help you Zero?" said Izola. "I could hear you two cuties arguing about me from where I spawned in from." said Zane. "Cutie?" said Izola with her blushing.
Instead of reacting like Izola, Celina did something else. "Don't say stuff like that! You're with another woman!" said Celina with her stomping her foot and had on a huge blush on her face. "It seems that you can't hold back when it comes to speaking your mind and flirting with cute girls. It seems like a very deadly combo." said Rumos. "Yeah. It has gotten me into a fair deal of trouble over the years but I can not lie about how cute you two are." said Zane.
He sat back down on the couch with him smiling as he said,"I mean from I gathered, Celina here is a totally cute tsundere. She is totally emitting those vibes.". He smiled at Celina who tried to look angry but her blush appeared and showed her that she was happy about being called cute once again. Crisis Judgement went off as Zane jumped off the couch and avoided Celina's punch which shattered the couch. "Quit saying stuff like that to me you bastard!" said Celina.
Zane smirked as he said,"I'll do that maybe but you keep acting adorable. I think you need a nickname. I got it. I'm sorry for you cute my adorable kitty.". "Zero. Could you please stop teasing her? If you keep this, she may kill you." said Izola as Celina began swearing up a storm with her face being a bright red and reminded Zane of a tomato. "I see. You call me Zero instead of Zane and I see. Do you want me to tease you as well my little Lunabelle?" said Zane.
Izola looked at him in surprise and a blush was on her face as well. "I mean..." said Izola. Rumos smiled at the twins's actions thanks to Zane as he placed his hand in front of him and Zane saw the couch return back to normal. He sat back down with him saying,"You two are really cute by the way.". The twins blushed with them covering their cheeks from embarrassment. "Stop it right now Zero! The both of us are tough and intimidating!" said Celina with her pointing at him.
Zane smiled as he said,"I can tell that easily Celina but to be honest, you're not very intimidating.". "I ask you to please stop." whispered Izola with her hiding her face thanks to her hair. "Okay fine. I'll stop for now. Why am I here? And who are you exactly? I'm guessing that you're their grandpa despite not sharing any physical traits. Not judging since I believe that you can be a family with someone even if you don't share any blood." said Zane.
The Cross Species was wondering why Rumos didn't say or do anything about Zane flirting with his granddaughters. "To prevent you from ending your life after what happened to you. She was a real bitch but it seems that you're going to be okay now." said Rumos. "Yeah. I guess you know about my attempts but thanks to my friends and loved ones, I'm not going to do that anymore." said Zane. "Yes. It seems that the power of friends can prevent you from making a truly life altering mistake." said Rumos.
Zane nodded as he said,"Yeah. They really did and thanks for getting rid of my bandages. I was tired of them.". "What happened to you really broke our heart Zero." said Izola. She turned to her sister with her nodding. The two ran up to him and hugged him tightly. "How could you ever think of doing something like that?! You have countless people who love you and ending your life like that would break your heart!" screamed Celina with her crying. "Um. How do you know about that?" said Zane.
Rumos looked at Zane with him saying,"I think I should show you something.", He made a sphere of Impulse appear. It began to form and shape into a small TV. The TV’s image was blurry but slowly showed Izola. "Lets go about to the time around the Massacre and don't worry. I won't make you go through that horror again. Do you mind comforting them while this is going on?" said Rumos. "Um sure." said Zane with him placing his hands on their heads to say sorry and calm them down.
Izola was not known for suggesting violence toward an action. She was known for many other things instead. Kind, loving, smart beyond her years, determined, but violent wasn’t one of those things. Neither was her creator or older brother but her sister was. However, Izola was about to change that perception of her. Never before in her life did she feel raw, unbridled rage toward a single being. It’s the human who gained the nigh-omnipotent power of the Eazairvian.
She killed six innocent beings and transformed another being into a mockery of all females in the Omniverse. Both her sister Celina and her creator/grandfather figure Rumos watched her pace around their home with each step of hers making a faint shake. "Are you okay my child?" said Rumos in a concerned voice. Izola stopped and turned toward her grandfather with a glare that could make even the strongest and scariest being wet themselves in fear with Celina sighing.
Celina sighed as she said,"And here, I thought that you were all knowing but you can’t even read the room gramps.". "Why?" said Izola with her fists clenched tight and her voice was quiet. "Why what my child?” said Rumos. "You let several innocent beings died because of our inability to act! Why can’t we do anything beside watch bad things happen?!" shouted Izola. "It’s a bit more complicated that you may think child. Your brother Callum understands this to an extant so you should as…" said Rumos.
Izola had a violent intent consume her entire being. "Then tell us grandfather! That woman should have never been born! She should haven’t been given that immense power!" said Izola. She slammed her fists down on the table that was in front of Rumos, shattering it into a thousand pieces and her teeth was were clenched tight. "Calm down sis. I’m mad too but you know dad. Every thing in the Omniverse has a reason for happening. Both the good and bad." said Celina.
Rumos nodded as he said,"Your sister is right. As higher beings, we must stay out of the affairs of all of the mortals and let fate take its course no matter what.". Even though Rumos sounded impartial and heartless, both girls could tell that the god was angry at what happened to the Zero who had surpass all Zeroes before him. They weren’t sure if he would died being that unlike most other beings, Zane’s destiny is filled with many different paths for him to take.
It’s his choice to decide what path for him to talk. The Eazairvian Kilene’s attack had destroyed Zane being that while his physical wounds could heal him within seconds, the mental trauma would stay in him for several hundred years to come if he lived that long. From what the trio could see, Kilene ,in her special prison, took pleasure in the damage that she gave Zero. From the Transient Yonder, the trio had watched all of this happen and they couldn’t do anything to stop it.
All of them have the power to make the two most powerful species Eazairvian and Qlakriks look like children. "We could have destroyed her easily sister." said Izola. It would have been so easy. She could have crushed Kilene and her slave without breaking a sweat and keeping the Zero’s powerful smile on his face. Celina was slightly worried about her sister since she wanted to mutilated the woman for hurting Zane in that regard.
Celina sighed as she said,"I know that it's weird for me to say this sis but we can’t. Our power was given us to protect the Omniverse not to hurt the Omniverse.". "You’re saying this? The woman who suggested that we wipe out all of the Qlakriks and you said this right after the Omniverse War!" said Izola. "You’re right sis because we can’t leave without making a contract with a being of immense power and potential." said Celina.
Izola frowned as she said,"I know that sister. That is how our brother was able to leave in the first place since he’s way weaker than the both of us combined or separate.". "She’s right Izola. With the power that you two shared, you would need to meet a being whose power is unlimited and has the potential to change the Omniverse in a big way." said Rumos. Izola clenched her teeth with her knowing that her grandfather and sister were right but this was going too far.
Even though Zane was able to revive the Omniverse from Kilene destroying it, she still killed over a billion lives just because she wasn’t getting what she wanted. "Don’t worry my child. I know that you’re worried about Legion Zero killing himself." said Rumos. "Which will happen because he’s unable to bring back the six people who his Essence treasure! You know how many Zeroes had died because of their emotions overwhelming them!" said Izola. "She had a point gramps." said Celina.
Rumos sighed as he said,"You’re both right but don’t give up. I’m sure that we’ll be able to see Zane return back to normal in due time so be patient.". "Seriously?! That's what we're going to do." said Celina and Izola. "Yep. I’m sure about this but just wait. I had a plan forming and I have to wait for all of the pieces to come in play." said Rumos with him smiling. The twins looked at each other and sighed as the TV screen stopped playing.
As the TV vanished, Zane looked at the twins with them sniffing. "Thanks for being so worried about me you two even though we've never met before today. Lately, I haven't been exactly in the right mindscape for the past couple of weeks but I'm much better now." said Zane. "You're welcome Zero. We brought you here to stop you from making a mistake." said Izola as she and Celina hugged him tighter. "What happened to you was something that shouldn't have happened but it did." said Rumos.
He looked at Zane with him saying,"Fate decided to screw you over but I wanted to help you succeed so it won’t happen ever again.". "While I’m thankful for your assistant, are you sure about that?" said Zane as the twins slowly released Zane from their hug. "Of course he is Zero! Don't ever doubt gramps like that." said Celina. "I won't then since you're sure about his strength. So where in the nine realms am I exactly?" said Zane.
Celina and Izola sat to the left and right of him respectively. "Zero. You're currently in the Transient Yonder or Steroyzon." said Rumos. "Okay then. So where is that? I mean I died right? This place must be heaven right?" said Zane with him remembering clearly how he died by drinking a slushie of all thing. He was totally going to get it from the other Zeroes on the way he died. "Do you seriously think you died? I mean that's just sad if you do but from your perspective, it makes sense." said Izola.
Izola looked smug as she said,"I would have personally brought you here in a different way myself.". "I think she's correct Zero. I mean if you died from drinking a slushie of all things, I would be laughing at how pathetic you are compared to other Zeroes. I mean you are so much better than the other ninety plus Zeroes. Gramps. In what way did you think bringing Zero here was a good idea." said Celina. "He's especially good in the looks department though." whispered Celina.
Zane heard her and smirked upon hearing that. He had an idea for some teasing involving her later. "I can see that you’re quite the fool Zane." said Rumos. "Um. Thanks I think? I usually hear that from my enemies not a friend I dn't think." said Zane. "Oh don't think I’m insulting you Zane. You have limitless potential as a Zero and that makes you're quite the fool. Thanks to the past ninety nine Zeroes, you have several abilities at your disposal." said Rumos.
He looked at Zane as he said,"Suicide isn't the way you should be going out. Your resolve may have be weakened due to a real bitch of a woman but I can see that you get past it and having our assistance will make you stronger.". "He is saying that you should try to be the best damn Zero ever!" said Celina. "But he already is sister since well, the past Zeroes sucked a lot. No offense." said Izola. "It’s okay. All of them beside a couple suck." said Zane.
Rumos chuckled as he said,"The Transient Yonder exist between all other dimensions that make their home inside of the Omniverse. It also cannot be access normally and this means that Skull Plague won't be coming for a surprise visit.". "While I'm grateful for noting seeing that skull, what do you mean by that?" said Zane. "We can exist here since we were created by Rumos, God of Souls and those who form a contract with us." said Izola. "Uh huh." said Zane.
Celina blinked as she said,"I don't think he's getting it sis.". "I thought he would since he's smarter than the average being." said Izola. "I do but he looks like a human. The only species that can create life are Eazairvians and Qlakriks. The other being who can achieve this is Eltron and he's the only Phacoris I've ever met." said Zane. "Let just say that I'm quite powerful and creating beings is nothing to me. Do you want to want to know the true reason why you're here?" said Rumos.
Zane blinked as he said,"Isn't it to stop me from killing myself?". "Nope but keep being like this Zero. I like it." said Celina. "Do you remember the slushie you had?" said Izola. "Yeah. I thought I died from it by the way. I mean I literally puked tar. You really can't forget doing that." said Zane "I think you should know this by now but reality is often disappointing for everything." said Izola. "You better just deal with what we have to offer you." said Celina.
Rumos nodded as he said,"We brought here for a proposition that will help you affect the Omniverse's future. By doing this, we'll become good friends.". "Okay. Does it involves dating these two? I'm not going to say no but I won't cheat on Rae unless she's for it and with you two cuties, her answer may be yes." said Zane. "What?! Of course it doesn't!" said Celina with a red face. "But you wouldn't be against right?" said Zane.
Celina looked away with Izola smirking. "I mean you did say that he's quite attractive mainly in the looks and personality department." said Izola. "You did? I'm touched." said Zane. "I said no such thing sis! And I have to ask Zero! Why aren't you freaking out right now?" said Celina. "Freak out about what?" said Zane. "About all of this! We brought here against you will and you thought you died!" said Celina. "I'm oddly use to this kind of stuff but thanks for worry about me Kitty." said Zane.
The tsundere's face went bright red with her looking like a mutated tomato. "He isn't our brother Celina and you're the one freaking out. I thought you would like him teasing you." said Izola. The two began bickering as Zane looked at Rumos. "This is normal for these two. I think they're just excited since you're a new face. We don't get victors often but let me tell you a story about a Qlakrik who wasn't like the others you met. His name is Xoringel, the Alchemy Devil." said Rumos.
After hearing about the Qlakrik, Zane nodded. "Okay then. While I found that story interesting, what does it have to do with me? Please tell me I'm not his reincarnation." said Zane. "Not this time around Zero." said Celina. "Yes. Your bloodline has never had a Qlakrik in it. Do you want some tea?" said Izola with her holding a cup of tea. "Sure. Not going to question where you got that from. It'll be better than that slushie I had to bring me here. Never again." said Zane.
He took the cup of tea from her and began drinking it. "Sorry about that but Tropical Mutant isn't like the slushies you will have in the future or had in the past. I created it from the body of Xoringel, the Alchemy Devil and it did kill you." said Rumos. Zane spit out the tea with the tea hitting Rumos and it vanished shortly after making contact. "Hold on! I died because of a slushie! What the hell is my luck?!" said Zane. "Zero. You're not dead in the normal sense since you're stubborn to die." said Celina.
Izola nodded as she said,"You know about Colossal Willpower right? You have it as you're well aware and even though you had the fruit, your body is fighting back against death.". "That's cool but why did you give it to me?" said Zane. "Tropical Mutant will give you the power of your most hated enemy's species since to be honest, your quest to kill Skull Plague was rather low. I know you're curious so I should tell you had a forty percent chance of success prior to eating Tropical Mutant." said Rumos.
Zane sighed as he said,"Okay. At least, I had a forty percent chance rather than zero. So what did Tropical Mutant do to me exactly? I rather not have my body too messed up since Rae will kill me if I got a power that will eventually kill me in the future.". "So let me see if I got this right. You're not mad about grandfather killing you so that you have the power of a Qlakrik but the fact that Rae will kill you if this power will eventually kill you in the future." said Celina.
The Cross Species nodded as he said with his fists clenched,"That's correct Kitty. I mean I love Rae more than anything and I don’t want to hurt her more than I have in the past couple of months. Her and my friends's actions made that clear to me.". The trio noticed that Zane's eyes were shining brighter than the sun with them screaming determined. "Okay. I'll explain it to you and you'll master it no doubt." said Rumos.
Izola smiled as he said,"Of course he will grandfather since Zero does everything he can to protect people.". "She's right!" said Celina. "Okay. We'll teach you how to use this power but first, how are you feeling? I know that you're putting up a mask to make those around you happy when you're clearly still hurting from those events." said Rumos. He could see into Zane's Essence since there was currently an oppressive and intimidating atmosphere inside of there.
There was Zane's burning desire to protect others but it wasn't shining like it normally does. "I guess you're going at see what people are truly feeling huh? I just want to have them back in my life even though there is no way to bring them back. They may exist in another dimension but it isn't the same. I may not be able to see the future like my grandma can but I could see their futures looking bright and well, I destroyed their future." said Zane with him holding back his sadness.
Rumos looked at him as he said,"Let it out my child. It’s never good to hold back what you’re feeling as what your girlfriend, friends, and family has been telling you for years now but you never seem to get it.". He gave Zane a soft smile and stretched out his arms. Zane walked toward him and cling to his body with the Cross Species crying his eyes out. "Oh wow. I totally didn’t expect this to happen by the way sis." whispered Celina.
Izola nodded as she whispered,"You know how well grandfather is at getting beings to open up about their problems.". "Oh don’t I know that. I’m just saying that a hunk like him crying like a baby is really weird." whispered Celina. "So you find him to be a hunk? Interesting." whispered Izola with Celina punching her. "I’m truly sorry my son." said Rumos, trying to soothe Zane but the Cross Species was quite different compared to his children.
While looking at the ground, Zane shouted,"Why then?! Why did this have to happen to me?! I should have save them! I have the power to save the Omniverse right?! So why couldn’t I save them?!". He was demanding an answer not from Rumos but from destiny or fate itself. "Zane. I may know almost everything about the Omniverse my child but the events that have happened to you must have been for a reason. A reason that may be bullshit but will make you a strong being in the long run." said Rumos.
The Cross Species pulled away from Rumos as he said,"I guess but the pain I’m feeling now is too much to bear.". Rumos reminded Zane of Arturo in terms of a grandfather figure. Darin was a good grandfather but he wasn’t exactly the soothing type in Zane’s opinion since he broke his arms. Zane wiped away his tears but the stream of water coming from his eyes wasn’t planning on stopping any time and tried to close his eyes in order to stop.
Rumos had a smile on his face as he said,"Don’t give up. As a wise being once said, hope will never died even when a tragic event has happen.". He was speaking like a wise man who was teaching his prized student a well need lesson. Zane looked at him with him saying,”Okay. I'll take your word for it then. So can I start learning how to use my new powers.". "Not yet Zero." said Izola. "Why not?!" said Zane with a pout on his face.
Celina shook her head as she said,"We need to speak to gramps about something. Why did you have to bring him here like that? He turned into freaking tar! That’s a really big deal given how important and treasured Zane is to several current and future champions of the Omniverse!". "Your job as Zero is to protect the Omniverse from a great evil in the very near future." said Rumos.
Rumos smiled as he said,Do you wish to know some of what I can do?”. "Sure. I guess that your must be powerful to have done what the cutie said." said Zane. "Cutie?" said Izola with a faint blush on her face. "Hey you jerk! Quit call my sister cute!” said Celina with her face red from rage. "Oh I get it. I mean I want to learn how to use my new power but it seems that somebody is jealous. I mean both of you are beyond cute and my mom told me never to lie when it comes to something like that." said Zane.
Celina's face stayed red but it was due to another emotion that was the opposite of rage and starts with the letter L. Rumos would have stopped this but he was amused by his granddaughter’s actions when it comes to getting teased by Zane. "So what can you do God of Souls? And then what can I do?" said Zane. "Like with Hourglass Universe, I can manipulate the flow of time itself. You’re well aware of how her powers work right?" said Rumos.
Zane nodded as he said,"Yeah. I am. So are you a stronger version of her? Please don't tell her I said that. Savant said that she was weak once and well, she isn't a being you mess with.". "Yes I am and she'll never know. I can alter the timeline of the Prime Dimension but not to a major degree. For example, I could bring back the dinosaurs but I won’t." said Rumos. "Why not Rumos? I could have a pet dinosaur and that’s been my dream since I was a little kid." said Zane.
Celina looked at him as she said,"Are you serious?". "He is." said Izola with her remembering Zane’s stronger than normal desire to have a pet dinosaur. "Our job is to protect the Omniverse and not to hurt the Omniverse. If I brought the dinosaurs back, we wouldn’t be doing our job in that regard." said Rumos. "You’re right but we could teach them how to live in harmony with humans or get rid of their more deadly traits." said Zane with a pout.
The god nodded as he said,"Interesting. That may happen one day but lets focus on the now rather than the past.". "Gotcha. So why haven’t I seen you or the twins before? I mean I know that those two aren’t normal human twins but a Tregalvo. Their species is born as two different beings but fuse into one being as they get older. I think if I remember right, it usually takes till the beings would start middle school but I can tell you two are older than that." said Zane.
Crisis Judgement went off as Zane heard."Oh. How old do you think we are Zero?". He didn't need to turn around to see Celina cracking her knuckles and Izola gave him a extremely cold glare with her arms crossed. "I don’t think Zero meant to offend you two but you’re correct. These two were created as a template for the species’ max potential and they’re much stronger than you may think. The reason why they haven’t bonded together yet is because of our power." said Rumos.
Zane nodded as Rumos said,"Beings of the Transient Yonder cannot leave it without making a contract with a being of immense power and potential. For these two, we needed a being whose power is truly unlimited and has the potential to change the Omniverse in a way that will be for the better. I believe that to be you Zero. You have the power to shield the world from evil and with the power of Tropical Mutant, you will.".
The Cross Species nodded as he said,"Ah. That makes sense but you’re wrong. I’m not that guy whatsoever even though this new power sounds interesting.". He looked away depressed. "Come on Zero! Quit being a depressed sack of potatoes already! You’re supposed to be the sunshine not the penumbra!" said Celina as she pushed Zane away. This sent the unaware Cross Species flying directly into the wall with the wall having a noticeable spiderweb crack.
Zane grumbled out,"Ow. She may be tiny but packs a serious blow.". He fell onto the ground. "I'm sorry for my sister Zero. She tends to be quite a brute and a total tsun when it comes to her feelings." said Izola as she helped Zane up. "I’m not a brute!" said Celina, stomping on the ground. “So you admit that you’re a tsun? That's so cute Kitty.” said Zane as Celina’s face was red and she punched him in the face with Izola sighing.
Rumos chuckled as he said,"Celina is right. While fate may have screwed you over, I’m sure that you’ll bounce back from it.". "Thanks. I’ve been told that at least a hundred times but honestly, I don’t see it. Celina nodded as she said,"Yeah! We totally believe in you so don’t make us look bad!". "Humans may be considered one of the weaker species in the Omniverse but they are known for their potential and ability to bring hope. You exemplify that." said Rumos. "Are you sure you’re talking about the right guy? I mean you could be wrong." said Zane. "Yes I am. In my many years of life and watching over the Omniverse, you have never give up." said Rumos with a gentle smile on his face.
Izola nodded as she said,"He's right Zero. No matter how strong the opponent is, you have the power to keep fighting and becoming the champion that the people admire.". "Okay. Lets just say I believe you which I don't. Mind proving it?" said Zane. "Seriously? Are you doubting him and sis?! The both of them are never wrong!” said Celina. "He isn’t sister. Humans tend to require proof before believing something." said Izola. "Oh! I get it!" said Celina.
Zane whispered to Izola,"It seems that I know who is the brains among you two but you two are still both cuties.". Izola ,with a faint blush, giggled at this with Celina ,with a large blush, hearing Zane’s comment and grumbling that she can be smart too. She didn't mind him calling her cute. "Let me show you your proof then Zane." said Rumos as he held out his left palm. A sphere of Impulse formed as it began to form and shape into a small TV just like it did before
The TV’s image was blurry but slowly gaining form. "So what am I watching now?" said Zane with him sitting back down on the couch. "Sit it down and enjoy the show Zero." said Rumos as he swiped his left hand. The duo of Celina and Izola were sitting to the right and left of him respectively. "Um. What are you two doing?" said Zane. "Oh shut up Zane! You’re lucky to have us sitting next to you." said Celina with a proud looking smile.
Izola cuddled next to him as she said,"She’s only saying that Zane but she wanted to sit next to you for a while now. Your furnace like body is something she wanted to feel for a long time alongside your strong but toned muscles. They’re a nice combo in my humble opinion.". "At least, they aren’t little girls. Not into little kids. Looking on the brighter side here." thought Zane as Celina began to mimic her sister’s action. Rumos chuckled at his granddaughter’s actions.
Aside from their brother who comes to visit once in a while, Zane is the first new face they’ve seen and interacted with since being born. The two ,like most of his creations, lack the ability to read the room or have little social interactions since it was rare for other beings to visit their realm due to the god’s love of keeping things a secret. "Just watch and enjoy the show." said Rumos. "Okay. Don’t you want to watch too? I mean you watched the other show.". said Zane.
Rumos chuckled as he said,"I would but I have things I need to. Lets just say that meeting was destined to happen.". He vanished. "Ignore gramps Zane. Now lets watch you be amazing!" said Celina. "I have to agree with you there sister. This video of your life will show how you are destined for great things and shouldn’t let this one bad thing run that greatness. Don’t give into despair." said Izola. "I guess I'll trust you." said Zane.
He decided to trust the two girls and their grandpa who brought him to this dimension without his permission. Even though he just met Rumos, Zane had a good feeling about him and reminded him of the good old days before the Massacre. Zane wiped away some stray tears as he focused on the screen in front of him. The TV showed Zane’s life from the start to the time where he was admitted to the hospital. "So do you like what you saw?" said Celina.
Izola said,"I know that you did sister but I have to agree with her.". "I guess. So how long have you two been watching me? I mean it’s kinda creepy but if you two are watching me like a hawk would, I don’t mind. You're the cute type of stalker which is a thing apparently." said Zane as the two looked at him with a blush since he called them cute again. "Since you become Zero in 2017. It’s been an interesting time." said Izola with a smile gracing her appearance.
Celina said,"Yeah! You proved to be far more capable that most of the Zeroes before you. I mean despite the odds, you never give up! When you lost your arm and Essence or heart from Malik, did you give up? No! You fought against one of the powerful Qlakrik of his generation and you won thanks to the power of your friends!". "While relying on the power of friendship to win all of your fights without training is totally pointless and quite pathetic, you don’t use it in that regard." said Izola.
She grabbed his arm as she said,"You have trained yourself to become a real hero.". "Then tell me why I couldn’t save them when I need to." said Zane. The two sisters looked at Zane with them nodding as each one grabbing his hand. This confused Zane but got over it fast. "If that’s your problem, we will make sure that it doesn’t happen." said Izola. "Yep. We’re grateful for you since honestly, I hated humans for a long time." said Celina.
The tsundere sighed as she said,"I mean no offense but your species is kinda known for fighting with anything that’s different from the normal.". "That’s kinda a fair assessment." said Zane. "We promise that we’ll bring you back to normal." said Izola. "Yeah! You got us to teach you how to kick some major butt so you better be welcome to hell Alvarez!" said Celina, smiling. Like with Rumos, Zane liked the twins despite them being stalkers.
Both Celina and Izola probably knew everything about him and was going to be mad at them but they weren’t doing for evil or perverted reasons. He hoped. "Okay. Be gentle with me since you kinda have a wicked strong punch." said Zane with a smile on his face. "No promises since you don’t get stronger by being weak!” said Celina. "While that made no sense, I think we can be a bit gentle." said Izola as she let go of Zane’s hand and stood in front of him with Celina standing next to her.
Izola said,"So do you have any questions for us before we begin the training?". "Yeah. I mean aren’t you wondering why you were brought here?" said Celina. "Kinda but I’m kinda used to beings taking me from my home or bed to come hang out. I’ve known Rico and Theron for a couple of years now so I’m used to it." said Zane as he leaned back into the couch and enjoying the comfortable leather. "Huh. I totally didn’t expect that from you." said Izola.
Celina nodded as she said,"To be fair, he could be freaking out like what happened to our brother when we ask to train with him." said Celina. "True. So Zane, do you want to know what your new powers can do?" said Izola. "Kinda so lets do this!" said Zane with his eyes shining with the life that they had when it comes to discovering what a power could do or something he found interesting. His voice also had the clear, unchanging determination that the twins had heard in him before.
The twins said,"Then lets discover what you can do. To protect the people you care about, lets make sure that you’re prepared for any outcome. It’s time to begin your torture!". The three vanished from the room without Zane’s permission or without a chance to stop them. About an hour later, Rumos was sitting at his desk and sipping some tea. He looked up to see his granddaughters appear with Zane whose face was green. "Let me guess. You went overboard in your training." said Rumos, chuckling.
Zane groaned,"They threw me through so many portals!". "Come on Zero! Walk it off already!" said Celina with a "light" kick to the stomach and this kick caused Zane to groan. "Be nice. I'm just happy that he's stronger than he was when he arrived and has knowledge about Tropical Mutant or by its name that Zane gave it." said Izola. "You gave it another name? Mind tending me the name?" said Rumos. "I call it Satanic Corruption and it will be interesting to master." said Zane.
He was slowly recovering from his portal weakness. "So do you have any idea how I can use it outside of fighting criminals in Cypress Park?" said Zane. "How about working for the Alliance for a year? Get some experience in how the Omniverse handles crime." said Rumos. "And meet our brother. He isn't cool as us though." said Celina. "Yeah. I mean how could be cuter than you and your sister Kitty?" said Zane. "I said cool not cute! And quit calling me Kitty!" said Celina with her punching Zane.
Izola sighed as she said,"You did this on purpose didn't you?". "To be fair, it's really easy to tease her and fun. If I meet another being like this, I'll will be teasing them until they killed me." said Zane as he took her punches like a boss. "I see. If you wish to come back here, you need to promise me that you'll save the Omniverse. Will you achieve this?" said Rumos with him holding his hand. "Sure thing. I mean you gave me all of this power to help those without it right?" said Zane.
Celina smiled as she said,"Of course he did! Sign the contract already.". "She wants you to shake our grandfather's hand mainly because you're quite the handsome hunk unlike me who wants to see you succeed." said Izola. The twins began bickering as Zane looked at Rumos. "You'll get use to it in time. I did." said Rumos. "Okay then. So how do I sign the contract with you and please don't tell me its a blood contract." said Zane. "Not at all. You need to make us proud." said Rumos.
The two shook hands much to Celina and Izola's joy. "Welcome to the next part of your destiny. I think it's finally time for you to go back home." said Rumos. The twins looked at each other with them nodding. "Okay sister. You may go first this time but next time we see him, I'll be the first one to greet him." said Izola. "You got it sis!" said Celina as she hugged Zane and Izola followed suit by mimicking her sister. "Thank you for being our first friend Zane." said the two with a bright smile on their face.
Zane left the dimension with a very stunned look on his face. In the empty room, the tar glowed and reformed into Zane. He looked down to see that he was back in his bandages and gown with him crawling back into bed. "Okay then. Twins. I'm not going to say that I was against them hugging me but I need to confirm the idea of dating twins with Rae first." thought Zane. Zane closed his eyes with him focusing on his new power he had alongside one that he had mastered.
He began to feel a new source of energy inside of his body being that it was the opposite of another energy that he had in him since he became Legion Zero. The familiar energy was like a warm, intimate hug from Rachel or a close friend and the abnormal energy had an exotic yet bitter feeling to it. It reminded him of whenever he uses his ice powers but on a stronger scale. Zane grabbed onto both of them from both of them and felt the power inside of him.
Zane opened his eyes with him looking at his hands and channeled the two energies into his arms. In his right, he focused the familiar energy and in the left, he focused the unfamiliar energy. Zane watched as his right arm was covered in the familiar turquoise Primordial energy. It was all too familiar sight to Zane. Looking to his left arm, Zane saw that it was covered in a royal blue color. "This energy must be Carnal. It's weird to have Carnal and Primordial close to each other." said Zane.
He shrugged as he said,"But I’ve had Animus and Nether together before. This is so cool. I'm using two clashing energies!". Before Zane could get too excited about this, he heard footsteps approaching and he deactivate the energies. "I'll come up with some training routines and new combos. This power will be used to protect the Omniverse like it did when you were alive Xoringel. I owe you that much and it will take down Skull Plague." said Zane with a smile as the door opened.
This flashback isn't over just yet. We got some more scenes left with the twins and their bond with Zane before heading back to the present. It was during his time with the Alliance first and the second scene will have Zane ,in the current year of 2024, right before getting his new hair cut which will be another scene featuring the twins. Lets start with the first scene from the past. It was about the second month into his time with the Alliance with it being around the start of June.
Zane smiled as it was the weekend and he had some free time before his next job for the Alliance. He decided to visit the twins since Rumos asked him personally to take the twins out to get some well need social interactions. After signing a contract with the god, the twins were allowed to leave the Transient Yonder but haven't yet. Zane told Rumos that he would do just that so he went to the dimension through his dreams.
He could have gone through the door but he found going through his dreams more interesting. Upon appearing, he spooked the twins who didn't expect to see him appear. "Zero?! What are you doing here?! You scared us!" said Celina with her glaring at him. "Sorry about that but I came to see you two ladies. Is that a problem?" said Zane. "Not all. Good to see you. It seems that you're doing quite well in helping the Omniverse become a more peaceful place." said Izola.
Celina smiled as she said,"And he's already a Shogun of the Alliance at almost twenty year old! Only a couple of beings currently have that rank. Not even our brother has that rank and he's been there since the very start! Way to go Zero!'. She was acting like a proud parent. "Rank really doesn't mean anything to me or your brother. We are focus on saving people but I just do a much better job." said Zane. "That's the Zero I know and care for greatly." said Izola. "So you two curious about why I'm here?" said Zane.
The twins dragged him to the lounge area aka the spot where he met them back in March and sat him down on the couch. "To scare us obviously? If you did, you'll be punished for that version of Zero I promise you that." said Celina. "Not exactly Celina. I mean I like teasing you but scaring you is a bit too much in my opinion. You always walk a thin line between bullying and teasing. I want to tell you two about something. Do you remember the woman who was being mean to me?" said Zane.
Izola nodded as she said,"Ah yes. The human howler monkey as you call her. She claim that you didn't deserve your title of Shogun but you totally do since you're the strongest being in the Omniverse after all. Is she still in Ezlario? If that's the case, take me to her. I need to teach her a lesson.". "Calm down sis! If you fought her, you would cause a lot of trouble for Zero and bro." said Celina. "True but she hurt Zero and those who do that deserve nothing more than death." said Izola.
She had a dark expression on her face. Before she did something she would regret, Zane calmed her down with a smile. "Don't do that Izola since well, she has already learn her lesson." said Zane. "And what do you mean by that?" said Celina and Izola. Zane smiled as he began telling the two of a prank he pulled. A few minutes later, Celina was laughing at Zane's prank. "While I admit that it was real fun to pull off, she got even more annoying." said Zane.
He groaned as he said,"I mean thanks to her complaining, I got stuck with her work for an entire month as punishment. I mean I get her pay for the missions but all of her and my own missions will take me at least a month to complete.". "I have to disagree with you Zane and agree with my sister. You found yourself in a situation that is perfect for mastering Satanic Corruption and getting stronger. It's hilarious how the Omniverse works." said Izola.
She was trying her best to hold back her laughter but was failing miserably. Celina was holding onto her stomach from laughing too hard. "Hahahaha! I totally knew that she was going to react badly but to cause a dimension wide warning about her voice alone!? Bwahaha!" said Celina as tears were forming in her eyes. Zane smiled at the more aggressive twin being that it was nice to see the two laughing about something after several millennial of being alone.
For a long time, both her and Celina only had your other half, grandfather, and brother for company so Zane was an improvement. In due time, Izola managed to calm down unlike her sister. "Zero. I’m calm now." said Izola. "I’m not! We totally need to do one of these pranks. They seem like so much fun and I got the perfect victim." said Celina with Izola agreeing with her sister. "If we want to do that my little pranksters, you two do need to leave the Transient Yonder in order to achieve this." said Zane.
Izola looked at Zane with her saying,"Say that again Zero. I don't think I heard you right?". "Yeah. What she said!" said Celina. "You two hear me perfectly clearly. Ezlario is one of the biggest cities in the Omniverse since it's one of a few dimensions that consisted of a single city. I'm pretty sure that you two want to see just a small portion of what you're fighting for. If you're lying to me about not wanting to see the Omniverse, I will tickle you if you do." said Zane with a smirk.
Celina blushed as she said,"We do Zero but...". "Even though we can leave the Transient Yonder thanks to you signing a contract with grandfather, I don't think we should leave since we're much stronger than every other being there. You're playing with us aren't you? I mean you weren't serious about taking us on a excursion." said Izola. "Excursion? Seriously? Can't you just date? I know that it isn't a synonym but you get what I'm saying right?" said Zane.
Izola was quiet as Celina poked her sister's face. "Um Zero. I think you broke her. She doesn't like the d word." said Celina. "Seriously? I mean I expect this from you but Izola. Not so much. I didn't know the word date would bothered her so much." said Zane. "Date?! Our relationship isn't like that! We're just partners!" squealed Izola. "You need to calm down. A date isn't just between couples you know. It's also a day of the week being that the smart one should know this but nope. She didn't." said Zane.
He smugly smirked at her. Izola was quiet and had a pout on her face. Celina absolutely lost it. "Oh gods! You just got served sis! Bwa haha haha haha haha haha haha!” said Celina as Izola fell onto on her knees and looked defeated. "Why didn’t I know that?" mumbled Izola. Zane was pretty sure that this was the first time that Izola has been the one teased by her sister and Celina wanted this to happen for a very long time.
Celina was kicking her legs as she said,"Thank for you doing this for me Zane! You’re the freaking best! Haha! Bwahahahaha!". "I know that this isn’t fun on your end Izola but don’t worry. We’ll get her back." said Zane as he tried to get Izola back to her normal self. "Are you sure about that?" said Izola with a hopeful look on her face. "Yeah. I mean it's really easy to get her flustered after all but to be honest, I like seeing this side of you." said Zane.
He smiled at her with her saying,"It's really cute and this means that I should really tease you like this more often.". "Seriously Zero?! Please do! Bwahaha! I can't breath! You're going to kill me if you do that Zane!" said Celina. "Please don't Zero. I'm begging you." mumbled Izola. The girl had steam coming out of her ears with her body and mind currently shutting down. She was letting out whimpers at this point. "I’m pretty sure that you can’t die in the Transient Yonder Izola." said Zane.
Zane decided to take pity on Izola. He placed her on his lap with him gently moving his fingers through his hair to comfort her. "I know that you like making jokes but it hurts when you do it to me." said a weak sounding Izola. Despite her being upset with Zane for teasing her, she enjoyed Zane’s natural body heat and wanted this to last for longer. Zane noticed how smooth and fluffy her hair was. "I guess it was rude to make fun of you like that sis." said Celina.
The Cross Species smiled as he said,"Don’t worry about it Celina. I think this had to happen eventually given how many times she has teased you over time.". Izola didn’t plan on leaving Zane’s lap since she needed comforting. "We have a problem." said Celina, crossing her arms. "And does this problem involving how I'm on his lap and you're not. Just stop being jealous and move on. You look really pathetic." said Izola. "I'm not jealous!" said Celina.
Zane watched the twins beginning their typical bickering session with Zane sighing. "I guess I started this and I need to end this." said Zane, pulling the two into a hug. The twins looked at Zane with him saying,"Please stop fighting you two. I hate to see you two fighting and I’ll try to share the love with both of you so don’t be jealous of your other.". "Okay. We will." said the twins, enjoying the hug a great deal.
After seeing the two stop fighting, Zane said with a smile,"Since we're done with the teasing, are you two ready to go? I will be with the two of you so no one will hurt you. I promise.". "I mean if you’re with us, I don’t see why not.” said Izola. "Well, what are you waiting for?! Lets go hero!" said Celina with a smirk. "Your wish is my command miladies." said Zane, bowing to the two like a butler. This made the twins blush in unison.
Twenty minutes later, the twins said,"Where did you take us?". The trio was in front of a restaurant called the Golden Avenue with Zane saying,"According to Theron, this place has some really good food.". "I see. So is it made out of gold?" said Izola. "I don’t think it’s made out of actually gold but lets find out." said Zane as the twins nodded and followed him inside. The three approached the counter with the twins noticing the crowd inside.
It wasn’t too busy but it was no way quiet. "Hi there. Welcome to the Golden Avenue. How may I help you?" said the cashier. "Hey there ma'am. Do you mind if we take a table? For three if possible." said Zane. "Of course sir. We got a booth right over there." said the cashier, pointing to the window booth nearby them. "Thanks." said Zane as the girls sat next to each other in the back of the booth. "So what would you like to order?" said the cashier.
Zane looked at the twins with him sighing. "Do you mind giving us a couple of minutes? This is the first time at a place like this so I don’t want to overwhelm them. Maybe five minutes." said Zane. "Okay then sir. I understand." said the cashier. "So what are these things?" said Celina as she was talking to Izola who shook her head in confusion. "I really need to talk to Rumos about getting these girls some food in the Transient Yonder." thought Zane, shaking her head.
He sat in front of them with him saying,"It’s simple western food aka burgers, fries, and nuggets. Pick whatever you want. It’s on me. I got the cash.". The cashier walked up to them as she said,"Oh. I forgot to mention this earlier sir but congratulations. You’re our one trillion customer of the month. I know that sounds a bit crazy but we get a lot of business. This means you can take the Seven Labors Challenge for free!". "Seven? Labors? Challenge?" said the twins in unison.
Upon hearing this, Zane had an intense hunger in his eyes. "Sure thing. I'm game." said Zane. "One labor for you handsome and how about the two of you?" said the cashier. "Um." said the two with them ignoring the fact that the cashier called Zane handsome. She wasn't wrong though. "Like I told you earlier at the counter, this is their first time. Their guardian figure kept them inside their home for a very long time. How about something fizzy like a cola for them for now?" said Zane.
The twins wondered what a cola is but decided to trust Zane's judgement on this. "And give me a titanic cola for me." said Zane. "You got it sir. You’ll need it. Hey! We got ourselves a challenger!" said the cashier as she went to go talk to the cooks while walking away. "So what are these labors Zero?" said Izola. "From what Theron told me, I have to eat an entire meal within an hour." said Zane. "I don’t see how this is a labor since you can easily devour something like that no problem." said Celina.
Zane chuckled as he said,"While I thank you for supporting me Celina, I’m sure that the meal I’m getting will be much of a beast to handle.". "How come you’re sure about that?" said Izola. "Theron tends to be very detailed when it comes to food and swordsmanship." said Zane. "Here we go. Two regulars and a titanic." said the cashier as she brought over the three drinks with one being bigger than the others by a good amount. "That’s so large!" said Celina and Izola with their eyes sparkling.
The Cross Species smiled as he said,"I guess it is but well, this is just the start of the labor.". The twins gasped upon seeing the waitress returning a beast. The people looked on in amazement upon seeing Zane getting a massive twelve-tiered burger, tomatoes, lettuce, and onions between each slab of six-inch thick meat and thin flat buns between it all. "Here it is. This is the first labor that you must face. The Nemean Burger! You got one hour! You may… Begin!" said the cashier.
After she said that, Zane began eating it away. The twins have seen Zane eat food before but he was devouring the burger in front of him like he’s never eaten before now. Time went on as seconds became minutes with Zane not stopping. "Go Zero! Our Zero will be defeated by something like this! Eat and defeat it! You got it!" cheered Celina. "Calm down Celina. Oh who am I kidding? Go! Go! Zero! You got this since you’ll be the one to save the day!" said Izola.
With the twins cheering for him, Zane was about three/fourths of the way through the burger with him not at all struggling. The meat ,alongside the toppings and buns, was sitting in his stomach. He would have add the fries in it but his main focus was on the burger. "You have thirty minutes left!" said the cashier with looking at the timer. "Zero! Use the drink! It’ll make the food go down easier! You're a winner not a loser!" said Celina.
Zane took five massive gulps of the drink with him turning to the burger and he began eating the rest of the burger. The hour had passed with the cashier saying,"And the Labor has been defeated!". The twins cheered as Zane had a toothpick on his mouth with a smile on his face. "That was really good." said Zane. "Oh wow. He has a really cute smile." said Izola with a blush. "Of course he does sis." said Celina. "So after seeing your boyfriend eat, what would you two like?" said the cashier.
With a bright red face, Izola squealed,"Boyfriend?!". "Zero isn’t our boyfriend got it! I would like what he had!" said Celina with a red face. "Uh huh but I’m real sorry. We usually have enough ingredients for one person to take the Seven Labors Challenge. How about you have this instead?" said the cashier with her pointing to a small meal combo. "It’ll get your stomach ready for the Seven Labors Challenge." said the cashier. "And it comes with ice cream." said Zane.
Celina looked at him as she said,"Do you really think we’ll take it for just a frozen dessert?". "Actually sister, this will do fine." said Izola. The cashier nodded as she walked off with Zane smiling. "I got to say that your stomach is like a blackhole there Zero. Color me impressed.” said Celina. "Yes. It seems that your abilities encompasses many different factors for fighting and eating." said Izola. "Well, I had you two cheering me on and I can’t let down two cuties." said Zane with him smirking.
The twins blushed as the waitress enjoyed. "Here you are. Please enjoy." said the waitress. She handed over two trays with a medium sized burger, medium sized portion of fries, and two medium cups of ice cream. "Oh and for you sir." said the waitress as she held two small toys with each toy wrapped in a plastic bag. "So is this good hero?" said Celina with her holding the burger. "And what are these?" said Izola with her holding some fries.
Zane nodded as he said,"Yes to your question Celina and those are fries. Trust me, they’re good.". Izola placed one of the fries in her mouth with her eyes widened at the salty goodness that was a French Fry she heard about. Even though she tended to be more polite than Celina, she began shoveling them into her face. "This is really good." hummed Izola as she ate more fries. "Sis?" said Celina with her eating the burger.
Her eyes sparkled as she bit into it, enjoying the taste and hummed with a smile. "Yummy!" said the girl with her eating away. "Huh. I guess this must be a new taste for them. Pretty sure that Rumos would be having fast food in the Transient Yonder soon rather than later." thought Zane as he sipped his drink and watched the twins devour their food. A bit later, Izola said in her normal yet caring tone,"Thank you for doing this hero.".
Zane in a smooth tone said,"No problem and think of these toys as a good memento of our date.". "So would you quit saying that? You’re about to be married. and Izola can't handle that word!” said Celina with her face having a light red tint to it. "And I’m sure you know that I can’t help myself when it comes to cute girls." said Zane. "Be quiet hero. We shall be going now"” whispered Celina. She was gone as Izola went after her.
The Cross Species smiled as he said,"Those two are very interesting and well, I’m sure Celina has teasing material for Izola since she hates onions.". He went back to the apartment that was given to him in Ezlario. Time for the second flashback of the past. It was the middle of November when he fought the twins. It had been a few days after he had taken down Vision Enterprise and he need to take a break as Arya puts it.
He was walking through Ezlario with him watching the crowd mindlessly walk through the city. He was missing his friends back home in Cypress Park but he was enjoying his time in Ezlario. He made a couple new friends and helped out a lot of people. It was like back on Earth except with more species other than him. There were humans but this dimension was only give Swarm a heart attack with how many different species other than humans were here.
Zane took out his phone and texted Arya that he was going to busy for a while. She responded instantly with her telling him to have fun and Zane knew that the best way for him to relax after a mission, it's to punch something really hard. He found what he was looking for in the form of a door that looked to be out of place in the city and no other being noticed it. These door could only been seen by a select few beings aka Callum, the twins, and Zane.
The Cross Species walked toward the door and placed his hand on it. He opened the door and had vanished from sight. Zane reappeared with him seeing that he was in his costume and saw both twins both waiting for him. They were currently having a conversation prior to Zane arriving and upon seeing him, Celina made it very clear that she was annoyed with him being there without warning her before arriving.
In the time that he has known her, Zane could tell that she was always happy to see him no matter if his arrival was planned or not. "So you decided to come and visit us Zero. I never expected you to appear just as Celina was talking about you. Did you plan your visit just to tease her?" said Izola with a smirk on her face as Celina looked annoyed at her sister's comment. "What are you saying?! Zero isn't that type of guy. I mean he may tease us but I doubt he spends time planning it!" said Celina.
Zane smiled as he said,"Oh but I do my Kitty. Me and Izola plan this just for you. Aren't you happy now that I'm here?". He began patting her on the head. Without looking, Izola smiled away as she was pretty interested in what Celina was going to do. It would involving yelling at Zane that she was sure of. "What Zero?! Yes! No! I mean... No! I hate you!" said Celina with her wondering if Zane would like her more if she didn't act like a tsundere and more like a normal girl.
She had a strong longing for him after all and unlike Izola who didn't hide her feelings, she decided to play cool. "I'm hurt really. I came here to see you because you're one of my friends after all even though you haven't been call me by my name in forever." said Zane with his smile on full display. He may enjoy teasing now and again since Celina makes it really fun to tease her but he knew when to stop when she was getting overwhelmed and hurts him greatly.
Celina nodded as she said,"Okay fine. I guess since you've been so good in achieving peace for the Omniverse. I call you by your name Z......". She was trying to be a bad cop in order to make herself look really intimating to Zane. "So why haven't you? I mean Zane isn't one for formalities after all." said Izola. "Shut up! I'll say it when I ready damn it!" said Celina. "Be nice you two." said Zane with him stopping one of their bickering sessions before it happened.
The tsundere nodded as she said,"So do you need something or do you come here just to tease me?". "A little bit of a and b." said Zane. The twins have told him during their training that they wanted to fight him in a serious fight for a while now and the Cross Species decided to do it before another big mission he would go on. It would be a good way to see how strong he has gotten since gaining that new power and fighting against some of the Omniverse's worst criminal which included dimensionwalkers.
Dimensionwalkers were the Omniverse's version of jaywalkers except they were traveling through dimensions illegally and getting others killed. Izola looked at Zane with her easily seeing why Zane was here to see them and slightly worried for his well being even though being in the Transient Yonder doesn't hurt him. "I see! This is going to be fun!" said Celina. She was worried about Zane's safety but she really wanted to get him back for all of the teasing over the eight months they've been together.
It's petty but can you blame her. "So are you truly prepared to fight? Both of us will not hold back. If you fail, we'll revive you." said Izola with her looking at him in worry, anger, and sadness. "Don't worry Izola. I'm much stronger than I was back then but thanks for always worrying about me my little Lunabelle." said Zane with a smile. "Hey! Don't comfort him! He decided to fight on his own terms and we should respect with no holding back since you defeating us isn't going to happen!" said Celina.
She was her trying to hide her jealously for her sister since Zane was trying to not make her worried about fighting. She was trying to make sure that Zane was intimated by her. "She has a point there but well, I kinda want a reward. Let me see. You two know about me so much but I know nothing about you two. I got it. I want to hear something embarrassing from the both of you." said Zane. "What?! Since when did you decided that?!" said Celina.
Zane shrugged as he said,"Me and Izola were talking about it when you were trying on those cute cat ears at that funland last month. I still have the picture by the way.". "Seriously?! I thought I told you to erase that!" said Celina. "Nah. I lied when I said that I would but it's too cute to get rid of." said Zane with a shrug. "Thank you for doing that Zane. Let us begin and don't worry about any interruptions from our brother." said Izola.
She may sound not excited for this but her lust for violence was noticeable. "Fine! You're going down because there is no way I'll tell you my secret!" said Celina with her getting excited for the fight. "Don't let us down Zane!" said Izola. "Bring it on!" said Celina. "If you do hold back, you'll regret it." said Izola with her hoping that Zane was ready for whatever they had planned. Zane smiled and he got ready to fight.
Celina charged toward Zane with Izola focusing her Impulse into her hands and they were a red color. She fired out several energy blasts toward Zane as Celina charged alongside them. Zane knew that this was usually how they started a fight and for most beings, they would be overwhelmed. In his short time with the Alliance, the Cross Species learned how to rely more on his senses. When Arya become his assistant, he had her help in a fight but always seem to rely on his gut.
Running into a fight without a plan and with a lack of numbers on his side was stupid and incredibly reckless. During their training, Zane studied how they fight as they usually beat the tar out of him with their natural strategies. "Akostar Barrier!" said Zane as his arms were covered in his Akostar energy. It glows brighter with Zane forming a massive barrier around himself. This blocked Izola's energy blasts and before Celina could stop, the barrier began glow brighter than the sun.
The light blinded the twins with it produce an energy wave that sent her flying back a couple of feet. It wasn't the normal ten but Zane could work with this. He needed to make this time count since they were good at countering him as he was with them. "Vibration Tremor!" said Zane as he began rubbing both of his palms of his hands together for a period of time. He slammed both palms into the ground and created an earthquake.
Both twins attempted to evade but the sheer area of effect made it impossible to evade it. The ground was cracked up unevenly and without any kind of pattern so this required great reaction speed. The twins decided to count Zane by aiming for his blind spot but the hero saw this coming. He made Astaroth appear with the demon smiling upon seeing them come closer to him. He fired out several Worthy Arrows which kept the twins back as they dodged the explosion.
While focusing on the twins, Astaroth said,"When you suggested that we fight the twins, I thought you were crazy partner but this is more fun than I expected!". "Told you so. Mind going back for a second? I think it's time for a Fierce Sol." said Zane as he held a giant sphere of Impulse which matched the Impulse Zane used in Predator State. He threw the sphere into the air with him making the sphere turn into smaller version and come down from above like meteors.
Celina managed to resist the onslaught thanks to her extremely high durability and Izola ,while not as durable, tanked the hit as well but groaned in pain. "Sis!" said Celina as she made her blue Impulse appear and healed Izola who thanked her sister. "While I'm thankful for that, we have a problem." said Izola. Celina turned around to Zane and he smiled. "Hi there my little Kitty." said Zane with Celina jumping back to avoid whatever Zane had planned but he had expected that.
Zane smiled as he said,"Sweet Roast!". After saying it, Zane's enlarged fiery fist went flying toward her at a noticeable speed. The girl blocked the fist but sliced by Zane who was using Vulcorian Fury to slice her up while she was distracted by his fist. She was able to block about half of Zane's slashes but the other half got her and she stood next to Izola who healed her. "Damn Zero. You're really good and while I'm hurt that you're not using your forms, I respect you for fighting us like a man!" said Celina.
She was berating herself for letting Zane getting that many hits on her and catching her off guard once again. She may get caught off guard when he's teasing her but in a fight, that's a whole other story. Izola agreed in agreement and was proud at how much stronger Zane has gotten under their watch. They both knew that Zane gets stronger especially after fighting against powerful enemies and never stops training even when others decided to relax and let those weaker than them fight their battles.
Izola smiled as she said,"So our hero has come a long way since he was that sack of potatoes as you delightfully put it.". "Of course he did! He's our hero after all!" said Celina with her charging at Zane who smiled. "This test to see if you're truly ready to defeat Skull Plague and well, I hope you use Satanic Corruption in some manner since that power is needed to defeat him." said Izola. She turned to her twin who smiled and they held hands as they jumped backwards into the air.
The calm twin made several element ,ranging from Darkness, Earth, Fire, Ice, Light, Lightning, Water, and Wind, serpents appeared and they charged at Zane. Zane dodged the attacks by either avoiding the elemental serpents or absorbing them using Void Absorption. Izola wasn't happy whenever Zane absorbed one of her serpents and was going to plan a counter attack but Celina knew that Zane was going to do something about it so she fired a massive ball of Impulse toward him.
Upon seeing the ball coming toward him, Zane knew that he was going to use that and needed to distracted for a bit so he took the combination of the elements and Impulse which made a massive explosion. The twins waited for Zane to come out without any scratches and knew that he was going to appear eventually. Izola picked up on Zane's Impulse and fired a stream of fire toward it. The fire didn't hit anything but something hit the girl as she was sent flying by an invisible force of nature.
Celina would have tried to help her but was distracted by Astaroth who appeared to keep her busy. She was annoyed that she was fighting against Zane's summon instead of him. "Come on Zero! Or are you scared of us?!" said Celina. The more impulsive twin was hit in the face by Zane who had on his Avenger Mask on. "If you insist for me my Kitty, I shall appear." said Zane as Astaroth flew above him and was ready to attack them.
The demon made two massive spheres of energy aka a Zenith Sphere with him firing them toward Celina and Izola. They both blocked it but were caught in a massive explosion of energy that caused the entire realm to shake. "I didn't need the extra power Zane but thanks." said Astaroth. Zane nodded as he saw the twin's counterattack which came in the form of several blue Impulse blades with it coming from Celina and bolts of lightning from Izola.
Astaroth made his guns appear and fired a non-stop barrage of obsidian black energy bullets that easily blocked the Impulse and lightning. While the twins were distracted, Zane jumped into the air and made both Espada and Lazarus Soul appear in hand. Both swords looked much bigger than normal thanks to Expansion and Shrinkage. "Billion Blade Storm!" said Zane. He released a barrage of black Mojo energy blades instead of the air blades that the attack was known for.
These blades moved at the speed of sound with the twins dodging it but Izola was hit by a group of them. This sent her flying away and onto the ground with Celina turned toward her. She saw Zane flying toward her and sent a giant Impulse construct fist toward him but it was blocked both by his swords. As Zane landed, Celina helped her sister up. The impulsive twin was about to heal the calmer twin but was stopped by Astaroth who used his signature attack to strike the twins in the chest.
They both landed on the ground with them slowly standing up and panting heavily for the damage they had received from Zane's inner demon who was powered up thanks to the mask on Zane's face. "This is really fun isn't it sister?" said Izola with her smiling despite her being in a great deal of pain. "Yeah. I mean he isn't holding back like we were supposed to since we were worried about his well being. I guess he is stronger than we thought huh." said Celina.
She was regretting that she was still seeing Zane as that depressing lump even though he's long since recovered. He was countering their strategies and attacking them by factoring in their unique traits perfectly. She may play the arrogance she had but she was proud of how strong she made her precious Zane. "I wonder if he's stronger than us now." said Izola. "No. He can't be and even if he is, we can't lose. I don't want to tell him my secret." said Celina.
Izola looked at Zane with him deactivated Avenger Mask, made his swords disappearing, and made Astaroth leave. "Even though your secret is super obvious." said Izola. "Hey! No it isn't!" screamed Celina. "Zane! I want you to show us Satanic Corruption right now! Bring out all of your power to take us down!" shouted Izola with her releasing a strong amount of red Impulse that made a noticeable aura around her. "Fine! Lets do this!" said Celina.
She followed her sister by covering herself in a blue Impulse aura. Izola fired several giant elemental bullets toward Zane with the Cross Species dodging them and Celina rushed toward Zane. "This is for teasing me!" said Celina as she kicked Zane in the side with the hero rolling along the ground and slowly standing back up. "Gods damn Celina! You aren't holding back now. Way to go!" said Zane as he could easily seeing Izola planning another attack.
Zane looked up to see an avalanche of Impulse heading toward him and it looked to be deadly. "Fine then. Lets do this!" said Zane with him activating Satanic Corruption. By focusing, Zane easily detected the Carnal that flowed inside of him and found the exotic yet bitter feeling aka Carnal. As he was doing this, his Essence rate/heart rate goes over a hundred beats per minute and his body temperature raises to a higher than normal level to him.
His body began emitting a royal blue windstorm of energy, sending anyone around him flying and this included Celina much to her shock. There was a very faint scent of blood and tar in the air as this is going on but it's barely noticeable at the moment. The windstorm of energy eventually dies down around Zane with him changing. His body is covered by an encouraging royal blue aura with his eyes have heterochromia with his left eye glowing molten gold and right eye glowing steel gray.
Zane's hair is now black with patches of his hair being a royal blue color. It looks more wild and flowed with the breeze. He has two royal blue ram like horns sticking out of his hair. His horns are made out of compressed Carnal and face downwards. It vents Carnal energy out of them in a manner resembling exhausts. His ears are pointed. His upper left and right tooth ,which are canine like, protruded from his mouth. The veins over his arms, chest, and legs bulge out and turn crimson red.
His veins look to have a fissure like pattern to them. His eyes have a cold look to them with a single glare can send chills down their spine. "Lets do this you cuties!" said Zane whose voice was deeper and more demonic. The aura that covers Zane’s body formed a pair of beetle/dragon/devil wings protruding from his back as he flew toward the avalanche. By using his powers, he began turning the deadly energy into something more comfortable aka cotton candy.
Celina charged toward him with the two fighting each other. Each hit caused a shockwave with Celina tending to take more hits than Zane was. She was about to block Zane's attack but thanks to two tendrils, her arms were grabbed. "Satanic Crosscut!" said Zane as his attack sent Celina falling to the ground. Izola went to go catch her but was sent flying toward the falling twin by a kick from a Zone whom Zane made earlier. "This fight is over! Satanic Roar!" shouted Zane.
Zane's attack went toward the twins with them being unable to stop the attack. Celina took it upon herself and protected Izola from the blast, holding her close as they were hit by the massive explosion from Zane's attack. This caused the realm to be hit with extremely violent shockwaves and would have brought utter destruction for a good ten seconds. After landing on the ground, Zane took a deep breath and returned back to normal.
He knew that the twins ,together or alone, were able to survive a nuclear bomb. If they could survive this attack, he planned to surrender so that the twins wouldn't be too upset with him. He knew that it was good to surrender sometime to keep your dignity and honor which he learned from Rumos. He was still learning how to use Satanic Corruption after all. Walking over to where the area his attack exploded which was a huge amount, Zane spotted the twins totally defeated.
They were in the middle of a noticeable sized crater. The surface of it was emitting Carnal and would kill anyone who couldn't survive high amounts of Impulse. Zane grabbed the two with each one resting on his shoulder and moved the two to a safe part of the realm which was slowly healing from their fight since it could never be destroyed. Zane placed the two down on the ground with him saying,"Gaia Restore.".
Both twins were groaning as they were slowly glowing an ethereal turquoise and Zane waited for them to recover. "What?" said Celina with her being the first one to wake up. She was shaking his head and Zane squatted down. He helped her sit up by him placing a hand on her back and her other half was woken up thanks to Celina. She was able to stand on her own two feet. "We lost to Zero of all beings we could lose?" said Celina who was still in a state of denial.
Zane smiled as he hugged the two of them and even though he won, he treated them as they won. To his surprise, Celina escaped from his hug and looked at him with an excitement which rivaled Wolfram's constant excitement. This made him happy. "I'm so proud of how far you've come Zero!" said Celina with her act of arrogance and hostility disappearing. Izola ,while enjoying Zane's warmth, was thankful that Celina was taking their loss with grace rather than acting like a spoiled brat.
This happens whenever they're playing a board game. "You were lucky Zero." said Celina. "In what manner?" said Zane. "To have the two of us teaching you how to become strong. I mean you had some good teachers in the past but we're so much better than them!" said Celina. "That's true but you're better since I love how cute you're being right now my Kitty and how long are you going to be my arms my Lunabelle?" said Zane.
Izola looked at Zane with her shrugging. "I enjoy your warmth Zane. There is nothing else too it so isn't it time for you to claim your reward." said Izola. "That's right. I did earn that for beating you." said Zane with a smirk. "What?! You still want that?! Wasn't beating us enough sick pleasure for you?!" said Celina with her face screaming that she didn't want Zane to hear one of her embarrassing secrets. "Not at all. I'm a sadist after all so please tell me what it is." said Zane.
The calm twin nodded as she said,"Okay. For a long time, I never thought we would be able to leave this realm and that truly made me sad. Was that the same for you sister?". "Huh? I mean yeah but what are you talking about?" said Celina. "Something I've been thinking about lately mainly when Zane is gone." said Izola. "Oh. That make sense." said Celina with her being thankful for Izola not mentioning any embarrassing in front of Zane.
Izola noticed this as she said,"What do you think I was going to mention? Oh. Do you think I was going to mention the time you cried after seeing that woman getting murder and then she turned into that disgusting parasite creature in that horror movie we saw with Zane?". She decide to tease her twin since it was so easy. "What sis?! I didn't cry at all!" said Celina with her face glowing red due to her being embarrassed once again.
Zane smiled as he said,"Did you though? If that's the case, I would have told you that everything is going to be okay I promise.". "Zane. Did you know that before you come to visit, Celina here practices to be intimidating just for you since you told her that you like it." said Izola with her doing her best version of Celina being intimidating and it looked really cute. "Stop it please! I can't take it anymore sister." said Celina with her trembling in embarrassment.
The Cross Species smiled as he said,"As much I love teasing her, I think we should stop for now.". He gave Celina a hug and this pleased her. "Fine. After I lost to you, I think our first goal with you is a success." said Izola with her slightly jealous of Zane trying to comfort her sister. "We're supposed to be healing and making you stronger Zero." said Celina. "Izola. She's not calling me by my name yet. Keep teasing her until she does." said Zane with a pout on his face.
Izola giggled as she said, "I doubt it will happen unless you do something truly drastic. Zane. At your current level, I have full faith that you'll be the one to end the Apocageddon for good.". "Yeah Zero! I think you deserve this for defeat us!" said Celina as she left Zane's warm embrace and stood right next to her sister. "Please tell me that it's a kiss. I mean you two did kiss me on our first date after all." said Zane with a smirk.
Celina blinked as she said,"No! And get your mind out of the gutter! Our first meeting wasn't a date you idiot! And you're engaged! Quit flirting with us!". Her face was red as she remembered kissing Zane back then. "Meh. I can't help myself and don't lie. You love when I give you a compliment." said Zane as Celina punched him but due to her being exhausted, her punches lacked its strength. "Here." said Izola as she forced open his right palm. It glowed royal blue and a key appeared there.
It was a obsidian black color with the bow of the key displaying his symbol of LZ on both sides. The blade of the key resembled Lazarus Soul's blade and has two small red eyes on the base of it. "A key. So what's it? I already have the Omni-Opener but this is important right?" said Zane. "Of course! This key or Athanasia is the symbol of the bond you have with us and Rumos. It will allow you to make a door to the Transient Yonder anywhere." said Celina.
Izola nodded as she said,"You'll not longer finding one of our doors to visit us. She's right. I do hope you don't lose since our fates are intertwined and it would make me sad if you threw it away like it was nothing.". "Of course I won't. I treasure my bonds with my friends and you two are my friends. So can I ask something? If I do throw the key, will it return back to me?" said Zane. "You're not going to use as a boomerang Zero?" said Celina. "Maybe." said Zane with him whistling. "Yes it can." said Izola.
Zane cheered as he said,"Sweet! A boomerkey.". "Okay then. Since you're happy now, I need you to make Izola spill one of her her secrets since she spilled mine!" said Celina. "Okay. I got the perfect way to do it." said Zane. "Oh don't worry. I plan to honor our agreement without you bringing out those truly evil things." said Izola with her shivering at just the thought of onions. "K. So what is it? And I hope it's juicy!" said Zane.
The calm twin smiled as she said,"Okay. When you don't come visit us for long periods of time, I really miss you. You were someone that I admired from a distance since you had the potential for freeing me and my sister from our eternal prison. Over time after meeting, you grew to be someone I truly care about. I sometimes have rather naughty thoughts about you and I. However, I'm rather tame in my lewd thoughts compared to Celina's thoughts.".
Zane looked at Izola with her saying,"She has had strong feelings toward the start mainly because of how you look and act. It's a really nice combination right sister?". "I....!" said Celina with her getting flustered thanks to Izola once again and the fact that she told another secret of hers. She knew that she had to get back. As she was thinking of a way, Izola turned to Zane. "I know that you're with Rachel and wouldn't dare cheat on her despite your tendency to flirt." said Izola.
She looked at Zane with her saying,"I wanted you to know this. Please know that this is a secret kept between us.". "Sure thing but don't count yourselves out yet. I mean you two need to meet Rae at one point and well, she'll love the both of you or maybe you two will fuse together." said Zane. "Do you honestly expect us to fuse together at this point in our lives? We've been alive for two million years and never once fused together plus I don't want to lose my sis." said Celina.
Izola nodded as she said,"Indeed. I rather share my love with you, my sister, and Rachel. The love you have for her is something that we can't compete with but we promise to be there for you for the rest of time." "So you better not going dying on us you got that Zane?!" said Celina with her making sure that Zane got that. "Yes ma'am. I won't go dying on you two since well, you finally said my name. Well done you Tsundere Kitty." said Zane with her giving her a well-deserved head pat.
Celina's face was once again bright red as she said,"Get your hand off me Zane or I'll break it in two! I promise you that". "Nah. I'll just heal from it but here's the thing. I have full confidence that you two will become one being but keep your personalities in tact. That's my goal for you two and I promise to get you two there before my time with the Alliance is up." said Zane. He hugged the twins with them blushing at the hug and returning the hug.
From a different part of the Transient Yonder, Rumos watched the scene with a smile on his face. The twins fighting against Zane who move across the battlefield with grace and power, not holding back against the twins. He was thankful for him being there for the twins and was pretty sure that Zane would make due on his promise to them. Final flashback. Lets go to just before Zane arrived at the Velvet Spoon in the very last episode.
After promising Rachel that he would meet her and the rest of Team Maelstrom at the Velvet Spoon, he needed to meet up with a very important being aka Rumos had contacted him early in the morning. This being likes privacy and tends to keep the amount of beings who know about his realm's existence to a minimum. Arya knew about it since she was his assistant and hacked into his phone. This was so she could listen into his calls and figure out who Zane really was.
She didn't trust Zane at first but grew to trust him after working alongside him. Another reason was the power that Rumos had and he wanted to make sure that no one could use it for evil. He asked his only grandson Callum to tell Zane that Rumos wanted to chat soon. He could have mentioned the twins due to Zane caring a good deal about them but he wanted to speak with Zane about a important matter before it's too late.
Zane knew that Rumos wanted to talk thanks to Athanasia glowing a bit. The Cross Species could tell whenever it glowed even though it was in his pocket dimension. Zane knew that one of them was going to be upset for taking so long to come and visit with the second being could explain to the first one why he's late. Walking through the streets of Cypress Park, he entered one of the side alleys and it looked empty but there was something there.
It could only been seen by those who were granted permission to come to the realm. The object there was a door that looked out of place among the buildings. It was a good thing that only a good handful of beings could see the door. Zane walked toward the door and placed his hand on it. He opened the door and had vanished from Cypress Park. When Zane opened his eyes, he was no longer in his city but in a place that he had spend a far bit of time in.
This place really did remind Zane of Elysian except with its signature chains, ripped up portraits, and dead bodies. The latter of which made this place slightly more interesting. "Even though I've been here so many times, I've never stop admiring how peaceful it really is." said Zane. Zane was in a rather hard to explain place. It was like he was in the Universe Path except he wasn’t standing on the bright white path that connected the dimensions.
He was standing on nothing at all and all around him, there was an unbounded maroon colored space around. It was covered in countless bright glowing stars and several golden clouds. It reminded him of outer space except he could breathe and move around with ease. It had a calming presence and over time, this dimension gave off the impression to him of coming to a burning fireplace after a long day of playing in the snow.
Due to his body's natural heat, the snow never bothered him but his kids knew the feeling since they used as said fireplace after playing in the snow. "The Transient Yonder. Even when Rumos told me that it was the source of all beings in the Omniverse, I still don’t understand it. I don’t think even the twins or Calum truly understand it. So maybe, I should have told them that I was coming because waiting for them is so boring." thought Zane.
He sat down on nothing with him looking at his longer than normal hair. "Well since I got time, I could give myself a haircut." said Zane as he made a pair of scissors appear. Before he could do anything, he can hear a noise coming his way and Zane turned to see the main home of Rumos, God of Souls. The god doesn’t live in a house and with his highly tuned ears, a train was heading toward him. Approaching him from the side, there was a tall, classy locomotive.
It’s color is a deep silver with mahogany lining, made out of a substance that looked like steel/stone, and steel like wheels. Under the train, there was a star like railway that only appears a few meters in front and behind of the train. The train has a metal shark skull like face with red eyes. Several passenger cars were pulled by the wagon and from Zane knew about Rumos, there was at least a million of them and Zane explored about ten of the rooms. "And there is my ride." said Zane.
Zane stood back up with him making the scissors vanish. Zane knew that Rumos was thinking about upgrading his home from a ancient looking temple to something more modern like a spaceship but a train wasn’t what he expected. The train stop in front of him and the door opened with him seeing a all too familiar duo appeared in front of him. Celina and Izola stood there with both of them smiling at the sight of him. Celina's hair was up to her shoulders now.
The Cross Species smiled as he said,"Hey there. Now that I know you two may be mad for not coming here when you exactly contact me and not using Athanasia but finding a door myself. I have a good reason. You two look very beautiful.". Instead of one of them attacking him and the other one watching the scene with a smile on her face, the two began giggling like they were affected by laughing gas. After one of them recover from her fit of laughter, Izola smiled.
Izola looked as she said,"It's fine Zane. We understand that keeping Rachel happy is important and sister. Please stop laughing at him.". "Oh come on. It's really funny to see the great and imposing Legion Zero rambling because of the idea of us beating him up. I like seeing him like this." said Celina through her laughter. "Okay. So what's up with you two lately?" said Zane. "Do you not like seeing us Zaney?" said Celina with her smiling at him.
This smile would be considered cute to others but Zane reminded this smile of the time that she helped him train. Celina was well known for her sadistic nature and this smile appeared a lot during the training. Before he had a chance to say anything, the two hugged him tightly. Due to how strong this hug is, a normal meta human's spine would have been broken. "I missed you so much Zane! Why did you take so long to come back?!" said the twins in unison.
Even though he couldn't see their face, Zane was sure there was a noticeable pout on their face. "Okay the. While I'm not against either of you two hugging me like this, why are you two worried about me never coming back?" said Zane. "Well, I know for a fact that Celina thought you wouldn't come back to us after spending the night with Rachel so many times. She is quite sexy." mumbled Izola. "I didn't say that Zane! Izola did!" said Celina.
Zane shook his head as he said,"Sometimes. Even though I care for the both of you a great deal, I do have others obligations and you know Izola. You're stuck with me and your sister forever.". He kissed her forehead with Izola's smile growing brightly. "Hey! Where's my kiss?" said Celina with a pout on her face. "You'll get it later but your sister was worried about something that will never happen. She need confirmation. So you think Rae is sexy?" said Zane.
Izola looked away as Celina snickered at her sister's embarrassment. "Don't worry Izola. Even though me and her are going to be married soon, I'm sure she'll let you go on a quick date." said Zane. "Please just stop you two. I made a mistake." muttered Izola. "Nah. You totally had this coming for a while now." said Celina. The two began bickering with Zane used to this from them. It was like Rico and Theron except this unique personality belonged to twins so this wasn’t a issue whatsoever.
Zane nodded as he said,"So to stop this argument from getting bad, I like your new hair cut Celina. The really long hair was nice but this is a good look for you.". "Thank you Zane. See? I told you that he would like it. I decided to switch it up because like you, we can change our physical appearance to whatever we want. Sometimes, we want to look like children or teens. It’s one of the benefits part of the Transient Yonder. Jealous?" said Celia. "A little." said Zane.
Izola smiled at him as she said,"I may not be my grandfather but I can foresee you doing that as well if you live for a long period of time. I have to ask you something important. How old do you think the two of us are?". Zane didn’t need Crisis Judgement to tell him that he was in trouble of saying the wrong thing to the woman who can literally break mountains with a single touch. They did that to a guy once with Zane learning not to say anything about their age to them.
Zane looked at her as he said,"I’m not going to answer that since well, I don’t want to get punched by you or Celina.". "A smart response but it’s fine to mention it around me. I’m old and I accept that unlike Celina." said Izola. "Hey! Are you calling me immature?!" said Celina. "You said not me." said Izola with Celina pouting. "Yeah. You don't mind when I mention it but when someone else does, they get thrown into next Sunday and a coma at the exact same time." said Zane while rolling his eyes.
Izola giggled at Zane as she said,"Okay then. Come on in. So why didn't you use the key to come here but one of the doors we put throughout the Omniverse instead?". "I decided to use one of the many doors because honestly, I like using the door. I may have the key but Rumos took time out of his life to make them so I have to use them right?" said Zane. "Sometimes Zane. At least, I can tell that it’s always on your person." said Celina, shaking her head as Zane pulled something out of the pocket dimension.
He held up the key with him saying,"Of course I do. This key is the symbol of the bond I have with you two and Rumos. I'm the type to treasure the bonds I have after all. So may I come in? I don't think we should keep your creator waiting.". "Sure thing." said the twins as they made way for him to enter their home. Upon Zane entering the train, it began moving once again. The first train car looked to be a small café with Rumos standing behind the counter of the café.
The sight of the God of Souls acting like a bartender is an interesting yet fitting sight. There were several perfectly cut square tables with glass tops and menu resting on top of said glass tops. It had small vases of multi-colored flowers on each table. Slow-moving ceiling fans above, rustic looking tiled floor, windows with it showing the Transient Yonder, and the music that played throughout the realm. Astaroth was here as well with him sitting at one of the table and drinking a large bottle of champagne.
Rumos smiled as he said,"Greetings Zane. As always, I'm pleased to see you grow into the Protector of the Omniverse. Did your All Day Date go well?". "I think so since Rachel met Zara old man. Let me tell you, those two will be like Rachel and Zane in due time except it's hotter since both of them are babes." said Astaroth with a perverted smirk. "I see. That's going to be an interesting thing to see developed. So do you like my new and improved home?" said Rumos.
Zane nodded as he said,"It's nice and totally perfect compared to the room you had before. I have to ask why a train through? It's only you and the twins here so why all the extra space?". The train was moving decently throughout the realm but inside of the train, it was showing no signs of moving at all. "While I agree that having this much space for only four beings is a bit much, the train has a natural charm to it and it's much better than being on a busy subway right Zane?" said Rumos.
The Cross Species nodded as he said,"Yeah. It does plus I hate how crowded those things are especially in Ezlario during rush hour.". "I have to agree with Zane on this since the subway's crowds are a bit too much for my liking. I think Zane called it being like a sardine." said Astraroth. "Indeed. With that in mind and how you dislike crowds Zane, I made this train to be something that can travel through the Transient Yonder and the rest of the Omniverse with no issues." said Rumos.
Zane looked at him as he said,"That's a good idea since you want to keep this place a secret. Only me and Arya know about to get here after all. This is a big deal since the Alliance and Odium Society are really good at getting information.". "I thank you two for that. I did plan for anything and everyone. The number of beings who knows about is limited but I think your friends in Team Maelstrom are worthy enough to know about the Transient Yonder." said Rumos.
Rumos smiled as he said,"Do you want the full reason to how I came to this conclusion? I can tell you why.". "No thanks. I'm just happy that you trust in my team like I do. I'm happy that your guys home will be safe and how is the booze here by the way?" said Zane. "Pretty good partner. I mean I usually don't have a desire to eat or drink but in here, I do. I may be coming here more often to see you since I find the interaction between you and the twins to be quite entertaining." said Astaroth.
The god smiled as he said,"I don't mind at all. Tell the rest of Legion Zero that they're all welcome to come here if they so desire. Just tell Zane if any of you are so I can bring the train around to pick you up through our connection. My dears. Do you mind showing Zane around? While I do need to have a chat with him, I'm sure that you two want to show him around.". "Lets go Zane!" said the twin as each of them grabbed an arm and began dragging him away. "Okay then." said Zane.
On the tour, Zane found out that there were at least seven train cars. Izolatold him that a train car can be made if Rumos needed something in the moment. There is a train car dedicated to training with Celina telling Zane that she asked Rumos to make it for her and Zane since she likes to make sure Zane is a master of all of his powers mainly using a whole lot of force. Izola is usually there watching and makes sure that Celina doesn't go too overboard before deciding to join in.
Izola does tend to heal Zane up close and personal much to Celina's jealously. The first car was the lounge area and this room is the one where the tour had begun. The second car was more modern than the café. It was like a mixture of a high-tech lab and a criminal hideout. There was a computer that has all known data on several different groups and species in the Omniverse and a worktable is where Rumor would be if he was here.
The God of Souls really like to sit or stand behind tables for some strange reason. Zane learned not to question beings who were born or created in Transient Yonder. The third car was filled to the brim with chests, lockers, safes, and shelves that was filled with several kinds of items. Izola told him that the two of them had sneaked into the Omniverse and had stolen several items in order to help Zane on his quest to defeat Skull Plague.
Zane was upset at them for stealing but Celina told him that they stole only from criminals and the Odium Society so Zane forgave the twins instantly. The fifth car was locked since Rumos was still working on it and it was going to be a place to observe knowledge of the Omniverse. Zane understood that and he wanted to see the other two cars past this one but Izola told him that the sixth car was her room along with Celina. The seventh car was another training room.
She would mentioned that it would be boring to see those two rooms so she decided to take him to the fourth car instead. Zane was pretty sure that Celina and Izola didn’t want him to see their room for a simple reason. It probably wasn’t clean at the moment and this lack of cleanliness was due to Celina or maybe Izola. He wasn't sure. Train car four was a rather cozy bedroom. It reminded him of his own bedroom except it was only the bedroom and nothing else.
It was a large circle shaped bed with the blanket/comforter/sheets being a royal blue color with maroon streaks. It’s made out of a silk/satin substance and feels amazing to the touch. There were several pillows there as well. Upon seeing the bed, Zane jumped onto the bed and enjoyed it with Celina following his lead. "This is a really nice bed by the way." said Zane, with him relaxing as he stared at the ceiling which showed the Transient Yonder in its full glory and beauty.
Izola smiled as she said,"Thank you for the compliment Zane. I made sure that it was like your bedroom back in the Prime Dimension to provide that one extra layer of comfort except for one major exclusion of yours.". "And what would that be? I mean I know that I’m one of the few visitors to this dimension but you guys are treated me like royalty. I know that I may be a king but I rather be treated like a normal person." said Zane.
The woman shook her head back and forth at Zane as she sighed. "Oh Zane. We treated you different because your goal is just a tad bit more difficult than our other guests. In the time that we have been alive, we've only seen a handful of guests and they were working with Callum rather than us. I think Rumos blocked us from seeing guests until you.”. "Okay. That makes sense since you two are very powerful compared to your brother." said Zane.
Without missing a beat, Zane said,"I mean no offense to your brother but the two especially when you're working together can given any being a run for their money including myself.". "Thanks Zane. So are you against having the bed here?" said Celina. "Not at all. So why did Rumos me to come visit? I mean I know that I don’t come by to see you two more often but from what Callum told me, it was a big deal. I doubt it was to show me his new home." said Zane.
Izola looked at Zane with her saying,"Oh. Did he now. I see. So what do you feel about someone having multiple lovers?". "I guess that having several lovers isn’t a bad thing necessary but only if you give all of your lovers your time and attention. That is how Blaze’s harem failed badly in my books and Rufus will never one due to him being the worst kind of guy. So why did you ask that? You curious about how harems works or something." said Zane.
She smirked with her saying,"Oh Zane. Even though you’re so smart, you can be a real big dummy sometimes and I love that about you.". Celina leaned her head to Zane’s and pressed her lips right against her. "Oh gods. Her lips are so warm. It taste like peppers. Wait a gods damn second. She's kissing me! Celina is kissing me! I should be more concerned but I’m not. This place really makes me compliance doesn't it?" thought Zane.
Izola removed her sister's mouth from Zane with her saying,"I can't believe you just did that sister.". "I did because well, you got him to kiss him first when he arrived here. Love is war after all." said Celina with a smile. She began resting her head on his arm with Izola pouting. "Um Celina. While I may not be against either of you two kissing me at all but I'm with Rae. Oh gods. I'm cheating on her. That makes me the worst kind of scum." said Zane.
The twins looked at Zane with Celina gave him a look. "Zane. I know what you're thinking and don’t think you're like Blaze." said Celina. "But you kissed me and I’m going to be married in less than a month! You two should know that I wouldn't dare to cheat on her since she's the woman I would die for and I'm not joking." said Zane. While Zane likes to tease others, he wasn't too big a fan on getting flustered himself.
Rachel was usually the only one to catch him off guard and Celina's kiss threw him off. "It will never not be funny to see you like this. It's like how you're really cute when you ramble on about something. I should probably explain to you why my sister kiss you." said Izola through her giggles. "Which she is totally jealous about by the way." said Celina. "Please do because I don’t want to think that I’m cheating on Rae." said Zane.
Zane wasn’t dense whatsoever since he could tell that the twins really liked him more than others. It may have been because the only males that they met prior to Zane was their brother Callum and their grandfather Rumos. "You've been in a harem before and if you didn't know, having a harems is no way common for Zeroes." said Izola. "Oh I know that and a few of them died because of their harems mainly due to Form Morpher changing into one of their lovers. What are you saying?" said Zane.
Celina chimed in with her saying,"Among all of the Zeroes, you're the best at making strong bonds with others in a short time. Former criminals who normally don’t believe in the power of friendship become allies of yours as you're well aware.". "Uh huh. I've been told that before." said Zane. "This ability to make friends comes with a pretty interesting side effect. While you're great at making strong bonds of friendship, you in turn make even stronger bonds of love." said Izola.
She smiled as she said,"I'm sure that you’ll be in a lot of harems in the future.". "You can’t be serious but I know that you are since I can see you being serious rather than your sister." said Zane. "Hey! I can be serious too!" said Celina, crossing her arms and pouting. "I'm just happy that you don’t have that much of a problem with this. Most men would kill to be in your position and this isn’t your first harem after all." said Izola.
Zane nodded as he said,"That’s true. Kevin was back in the day but I can't risk lose another woman I love because of my enemies. I’m always worried about Rachel getting seriously hurt because of one of my enemies hurting her just to get to me. I may just lose myself in order to get revenge on the bastard or bitch who hurts the woman I love.". "I understand that mindset of yours since there is nothing wrong with that. I'm sure that both Rachel and the two of us can take care of ourselves." said Izola.
To make sure Zane knew she could take care of herself, she flexed her arm. "Are you worried about what others think about this relationship of yours?" said Izola. "What? No! I've never cared about what others think of me and Rae has told me countless times that if she had to share me with any women, she would be okay with it since my Essence is too big." said Zane. "Okay then. So why are you worried about me kissing you? And for that matter, what if Izola kissed you?" said Celina.
Zane looked at her as he said,"I shouldn't but well, I don't want to have my Essence destroyed like that again. If it isn't obvious enough, I haven’t fully gotten over the Massacre. I watched them die right in front of me because I refuses to use my full power on someone who totally deserved it. I was acting cocky and stupid so I told myself that I wouldn’t do that ever again. I hate reminding myself about my mistakes.".
His fists were clenched as Zane said,"When you can never forget anything, the mistakes I make will always hurt more than the success. I'm so thankful that I had the twins, Rumos, and my friends help me from making an even bigger mistake. I'm not too familiar with the different types of sexual orientation but Rae has often told me that I'm bisexual, demisexual, and omnisexual. I may be a casual flirt but I can’t experience sexual attraction with anyone unless I form a strong connection with them.".
Zane smiled as he said,"It’s obvious according to Rae and well, Rae enjoys teasing me.". "As I do I by the way." said Izola. "Not really but you and your sister are trying so hard. I'm sure that you told me why you two like me? I have a couple of theories but I want to hear it from you two directly." said Zane. "Fine. We'll tell you. You’re a kind-hearted, extremely sexy, and powerful man who we're sure that you'll defeat Skull Plague." said Celina.
Izola looked at Zane as she said,"She's right. You're going to fight against the most evil being in the Omniverse with the help of extremely loyal friends and allies. The odds are against you but you are no way giving up Zane. You also gained the affection of both me and my sister since you treated us as normal beings instead of gods. You also defeated is. If you really think that I or any woman wouldn’t fall for you when you did that for them, do you really think they wouldn’t be attracted to you?".
Zane sighed as he said,"You didn’t need to add that last part but I get it. I remember the time when I fought you two. It was right before a big job for the Alliance and I need to make sure that I was ready for whatever could happen on this job. That fight was one of the most intense ones I've ever been a part of since they made sure to test me on all aspects of my power as a fighter. After I defeated them, both of you admitted to start missing me when I was gone for long periods of time.".
He remember that fight clearly with him smiling. "At the time, I thought it was a genius idea to tease them and said I couldn’t choose between them even though I knew how bad you two are when it comes to socially interacting, You told me that she wouldn’t mind sharing me with her sister or any other woman in the Omniverse with Celina agreeing in her special way. They were not so subtly hinting at me to start dating them. Am I correct?" said Zane.
Izola nodded as she said,"Correct. These emotions of mine are a result of me growing to love you without their feelings guiding my actions.". "Yep! You're lucky to have both of us loving you so you better not break out hearts." said Celina. "I won't Celina. So was this happened before? So what about Rumos? Does he mind his grandchildren dating? Is that why I'm here? Am I going to get the talk about not hurting his little girls even though they would easily break me if I broke their hearts?" said Zane.
Celina giggled at Zane's embarrasment as Izola said,"Nope. This is a first for us since Callum is strictly all business and there is no time for pleasure except when it comes to gambling and eating. The Alliance must hate paying for whenever he gambles or eats more than his fair share. Due to this, Rumos trust us on who we want to be with. So are you going to keep up with excuses for why you would be against having us as lovers? You like us in a romantic manner do you not?".
She was looking at him and expected him to be honest. "I could come up with excuses all day but honestly, I can't. I'm up for opening myself back for dating another woman since I like you two a great deal. We spent a lot of time together after all but we need to set some very simple ground rules." said Zane. "Really?" said Celina in an excited tone. "Yeah I do Celina." said Zane with him smiling as he saw Celina smiling brightly.
He reached with his hands for Izola's face, cupping it and their eyes connected. "We’ll get out the rules later with Rae since she needs to be involve if we’re doing a harem and making you girls equally happy is my job." said Zane. His lips were close to him and without a moment’s hesitation, he kissed her. This made Izola really happy and she put her hands around his waist. Even though her feelings were a result of the bond between her and Zane, she was enjoying their kiss.
Their bond was strong as diamonds and could never be broken. Before she could go any farther, Zane separated himself from her much to her noticeable dismay. Whenever she thought about him, she began to swoon like a lovesick schoolgirl. She never did this before but Celina did since she is more open with her emotions compared to her. It was something that she had seen in Rachel so many times when she was observing Zane’s friends and loved ones.
She loved her Zero so damn much and wanted to do things that would make her discovering more about love. In the Transient Yonder, time is no way relative after all since hours in here were barely seconds back in the Prime Dimension. "Don’t worry Celina and Izola. I'll make sure we do whatever you two want." said Zane. "I hope so because if you leave me waiting for you, we'll kill you." said Celina as both she and her sister lazily laid their head against her chest and used it as a pillow.
Izola smiled as she said,"I know how great of a lover you are and I want that. I can wait for a long time but don’t make me wait too long. Celina on the other hand. I want to be first.". "Oh no! You're going after me!" said Celina. "We'll decide whoever gets to sleep with Zane first by playing rock, paper, and clippers." said Izola. "Deal!" said Celina. "Since you two got that settled, should we go back to Astaroth and Rumos? I'm sure they're done now." said Zane.
Celina looked at him as she said,"We really should but I want to keep on cuddling with you. You're so warm.". "I really do hear that a lot but if we keep cuddling, you’ll never get to meet my friends. You really wanted to me them after all and Arya is going to be there hopefully. I think she is going to wear a mask much to my dismay." said Zane. The women couldn't argue against that but they stayed with Zane for a bit longer before eventually getting off him.
In a few minutes, the twins and Zane were back in the café with Rumos waiting for them. "It seems that the twins have made her feelings known to you huh Zane." said Rumos, chuckling. Zane was currently resting on her lap as she sat on the familiar couch. "Yeah. I mean I already knew from that start that she liked me since Celina and Izola didn't hide how they felt for me. I'm just happy you guys decided to call me Zane instead of Zero." said Zane.
He sighed as he said,"I mean it take Celina eight months after meeting me, Izola four months after meeting me, and you Rumos an entire year.". "So am I your favorite?" said Izola as she smiled brightly at him. "No I am!" said Celina with the two glaring at each other. "I don't have favorites when it comes to you guys. So did you ask me here because of that or something else?" said Zane. "This and just look at the interesting change to your destiny." said Rumos as images from the past six years appeared.
These images brought Zane both happiness and sadness at the exact same time. "I do feel bad about showing you the bad stuff once again Zane." said Rumos. "Grandfather. You'll be punished for hurting my Zaney like that." said Izola. "It's fine Izola. Rumos has always been looking out for me since I was born so don't be mad at him. So what was the change?" said Zane. "You recently met someone who will help you take a leap toward your destiny in ending Skull Plague." said Rumos.
Rumos smiled as he said,"You'll also help avenge someone who thought they lost their entire species to another. The possibility of failure is still present but we here in the Transient Yonder, we believe in you a million percent.". "Why is that all omnipotence and omnipresence beings love riddles and not just telling me what's going to happen?" said Zane as Celina was playing with his hair by running her fingers through his hair.
The god shrugged as he said,"Why would we take away the fun of it by telling you that? And did you tell him what you need to tell my dear?". "I will grandpa but only if you let us leave and join his team on his quest." said Celina. "That won't be happening. You two are too powerful my dear." said Rumos with the twins pouting. "Don't worry. I mean I hope Arya can join the team but you can still be an ally in helping us grow stronger by training them." said Zane as he tried to comfort her.
Celina looked at Zane as she said,"I know but I...". "I will allow you two to leave the realm in order to go on dates with him even though both of you have been sneaking out of here to do just that." said Rumos. "Someone is trouble and how long are you going to mess with my hair?" said Zane. "I'm messing with it since someone let it grow this long to begin with. I like the rugged rockstar look of yours but me and Izola were thinking that you would do good with shorter hair." said Celina.
Izola smiled as she said while poking his nose,"You show no fear when it comes to showing off your scars but why your neck tattoo? We both miss the beard by the way.". "You're not the only one who miss the beard. I’ll give myself a different haircut soon and quit being so cute you two." said Zane. "Not happening." said the twins, smiling at him in a cute manner. "My dears. Even though the Transient Yonder is outside of time, I'm sure Zane doesn't want to keep his friends waiting." said Rumos.
He smiled as he said,"I know that you both miss him and by asking him this question, I don’t think he'll mind.". "Okay. Zane. Do you mind if we come back with you to Cypress Park? We want to meet you and your friends on your Alliance team. I may not be allowed to join it thanks to grandfather. Callum shouldn’t be the only being to help the Omniverse outside of the Transient Yonder." said Izola with Celina rapidly nodding. "Sure. I don’t mind but my friends won’t be expecting you or Arya." said Zane.
After pointing to her cheek, Izola said,"That's fine. Now, I need you to seal the deal.". "Yeah!" said Celina, pointing to her cheek. "You two can’t be serious. I'm getting married." said Zane in a very deadpanned tone. "I am too so kiss me darn it!" said the twins with them pouting cutely. Rumos shook his head and smiled. He expected his creations to find something or someone to share their lives with but Callum isn’t good at talking to woman so he never thought it would happen.
Zane sighed as he said,"Fine.". He did what the twins wanted since he was well aware on how stubborn women can be. The women giggled in a happy manner with them cuddling close to Zane and enjoyed his body heat. "So Rumos. I need some advice." said Zane. "What is it my son? I hope it isn't about having cold feet at this point." said Rumos. "Nope. I want to be with Rae no matter what but I can’t just ignore my feelings. I find Alyssa attractive too plus the twins." said Zane.
Rumos smiled as he said,"Ah. The Harem Conundrum. I knew that you would have trouble with this due to you being comfortable with the last one.". "That's fair. I did expected to happen more in my future since I have a very big Essence. So what do you suggest I do?" said Zane. "Zane. Don't think it's wrong for you to be in a harem. You're the one to treasure your relationships with beings throughout the Omniverse. You would treat each girlfriend as an individual instead of a prize to be won." said Rumos.
The Cross Species nodded as he said,"I guess if you're saying that, I shouldn't be against it but I am.". "I know you have your reasons and you'll get past them in time I'm sure. To switch topics, I'm well aware of why you like Rachel but what about my granddaughters?" said Zane . "We would like to hear this as well." said Celina. "Well, you two are cute no they are adorable yet sexy." said Zane. "A good answer so far my hero." said Izola.
Zane looked at them as he said,"Both of you are smart, friendly in your own unique ways, and can kick some serious ass. I still have nightmares about the Izola incident.". "I agree. My sis can be quite frightening that day since she cares about you a great deal. I don't scare you." said Celina, giggling. The twins began bickering with Rumos and Zane shaking their head. "I'm going to switch to Alyssa if that’s okay with you." said Zane. "Go ahead." said Rumos.
The Cross Species smiled as he said,"She's strong, confident, know what she wants, and well, she looks great in that jumpsuit. Rae and I agree on that. I love how dangerous and unpredictable she can be. She has gone through so much in her life and I just want to see her smile. She deserves happiness and I think I can give that to her. She loves my wit which is rare.". "It isn't that rare." mumbled Izola with her pouting. "It seems that you have your work cut out for you." said Rumos with a chuckle at the end.
After a few seconds, Zane looked as he said,"So what should I do?". "Just go with your gut. It has never let you wrong so far." said Rumos. "Thanks for your advice I think." said Zane with him vanishing from the Transient Yonder. Zane saw that he was back in his room instead of the side alley where he was earlier. "Okay. Rumos did this on purpose but why?" thought Zane. "So this is where you sleep with Rachel. I'm impressed with how close we got this bed to the one in the train." said a voice.
Zane blinked with him seeing Celina and Izola standing there. "Huh. Never thought I would see the both of you outside of the Transient Yonder and in my bedroom. So why are we here?" said Zane. "Do you not want us to see where you sleep? I knew this was a bad idea." said Izola. "And I'm shocked that you don't have any dirty mags lying around. What kind of man are you are?" said Celina. "One is who is going to be married to a devil who is open to a lot of stuff so I don't need that stuff." said Zane.
He looked at Izola with him saying,"I'm not mad with you two being here at all but it was clearly unexpected. That is it.". Without warning, Celina slapped him on the cheek. "Why did you do that Celina? Gods damn. Your slap really hurts." said Zane, rubbing his cheek. "You I know about you have been having negative thoughts Zane lately and I refuse to see you like that. Quit it or else I'll beat you up!" said Celina with her glaring at him.
Zane looked at her with him saying,"Okay. I can't promise that I won't think negative thoughts but I'll try to be more confident for you my little Tsundere Kitty.". "Good and sorry about hitting you." said Celina, frowning at the mark she left on Zane’s perfect face. Izola smiled as she kissed the mark her twin left on his cheek. "I'm sorry for my sister being so mean to you Zane." said Izola. "It's fine my Lunabelle. I'm used to her beating me and showing her affections through her fists." said Zane.
Celina's face went bright red as she said,"I don’t do that!". "You do Celina since I have the scars to prove it. However, that makes you cute." said Zane with her kissing her forehead. This kiss made the twins face even more red as Izola smiled. She pushed Zane onto the bed and began using his lap as a pillow. "Sis! I want an answer now." said Celina. "I wanted to do this for a while now sister but I couldn’t. You do as well. Do you mind running your fingers through my hair?" said Izola.
Zane rolled his eyes as he said,"Do I even have the choice in the matter? And will those two do something about this little stunt of yours?". "No you don't. All is fair in love and war. I have to catch up to Rachel after all." said Izola with her smiling. "Grr." growled Celina with a pout on her face. "Don’t be too mad at your sister. You still have something over her remember?" said Zane.
Celina's eyes widened as she said,"Oh that's right! Hey Izola. Guess what?". "Yes?" said Izola. "I got to feel Zane's but! Jealous?" said Celina with a smug smirk. "Did she?" said Izola with her pouting. "Yes she did but only because of her kicking it during one of our training spars. I think you cracked it Celina." said Zane. "Are you okay Zane? Did she break it?" said Izola. "Of course I didn't!" said Celina.
With a smirk, Izola looked at her as she said,"I know that. I thought that it was supposed to be.". "That isn't what I mean and why do you do this to me?!" screamed Celina. "Because it's really fun to tease you and you're super cute when embarrassed." said Zane, smiling. "So do you mind if we cut your hair Zane?" said Izola. "Um. I don't mind but why?" said Zane. "Because we’ve been practicing some more mundane skills." said Izola.
Celina nodded as he said,"Like passing through several dimensions by turning into a spirit animal!". "I guess that's cool Celina. You two can cut my hair but just make it cool Celina and Izola. Don't make my hair into something I don't like." said Zane. The tsundere smiled at the comment Zane gave her earlier. Izola pouted as she pinched Zane’s arm. "Um. I know that you don’t mean to ignore me but I….." said Izola as she fell asleep on his lap. "So do you do this as well?" said Zane.
He was pointing to the sleeping girl on his lap. "Not really. She always fall asleep on comfy things and your lap is comfy." said Celina. "That's what Rae says but I'll take your word for it." said Zane. Izola began mumbling her sleep as she said,"Oh Zane. You’re so strong. How about you show me how good of a lover you are? I want you want to use your full power on me!". She eventually woke up as she said,"Did you two just hear what I said in my sleep?".
Celina looked at Zane with her saying,"Yeah and you really need to curb back the perv. You make the typical perverted male look like a saint in comparison.". To change the conversation, Izola looked around the room. "Okay. So do you have some where to train?" said Izola. "I do have a room just for training but you do know we have to be somewhere remember and my hair." said Zane. "Oh don't worry. We paused time so we can watch how you keep in shape so start training." said Izola.
The tsundere nodded as she said,"Yeah! Without a shirt too!". "I think both of you are perverts. Really wish I could say no to you two but I rather not die." mumbled Zane. Five minutes later, Zane was doing pushups with the twins sitting on his back as weights. "Come on Zane! You need to go faster than light!" chanted Celina. "You’re at fifty thousand but you can easily push for a million. Work those muscles." said Izola.
Zane rolled his eyes as he said,"I can but you two are enjoying this too much. Not even Rae does this even though it's super obvious when she does.". "You're speaking madness. Now get going or else, you get the whip." said Izola with a smile on her face. "Yep. I’m going to do this a lot in my future. I can see it now." thought Zane. Ten minutes later, Zane was on the ground and trying to catch his breath with the twins smiling at him.
Celina began clapping his hands as she said,"Way to go! A billion pushups! Way to surpass your previous self.". "No problem. I did it for you two. So can we get going? I miss seeing my friends." said Zane. "Sure but do you mind if I dry you off?" said Izola. She was holding a towel and using it to hid her blush. "Go nuts." said Zane. Izola smiled as she began drying him off and Celina could see that her sister was taking her time mainly on his abs and muscles a bit longer than she should have.
Zane could as well as he said,"You’re really enjoying this aren’t you? I've seen Rachel do the exact same thing before.". "Yep!" said Izola with a cute smile on her face. "So I’m guessing that you want to do this as well Celina?" said Zane as Izola went down his back. "Obviously. I mean you’re quite toned. Which is totally not why we love you by the way. I love all parts of you." said Celina. "Thanks for loving all parts of me by the way Celina." said Zane.
Celina smiled as she said,"Of course Zane. I'm not like the other girls who only like you because of your body aka my sister.". "Not going to deny that Izola?" said Zane with Izola focusing on drying Zane off. This was something he was going to see a lot in his future and hopefully, Rachel won’t have a fight with them. He would be proven wrong since they did fight but they grew to be close friends thanks to Zane being the meditator. We're done with the flashbacks.
Narrator P.O.V.
It was the next morning. Team Maelstrom gained a new member in the form of Arya and two new advisors with it being the twins. According to Zane, they were too strong to fight and it was against their creator's rules. It sounded like bullshit to Kevin with Izola not saying that he was wrong about that whatsoever. Zane woke up to the sounds of his phone's alarm beeping and looked up to see the sleeping Wolfram on his chest.
Arya and the twins had made their way to Zane's apartment in order to spend time with Zane and get to know Rachel. Due to this, Zane was asked to sleep on the couch with Wolfram. He was very happy to have a warm pillow and he loves to cuddle with Zane. The Cross Species didn't want to wake Wolfram up so he picked up the dog using telekinesis and stretched his aching body. His shoulders were a bit sore due to the couch in his room not being the most comfortable.
It was better than a hospital bed or a couch in a seedy motel but he missed his bed. Zane got off the sofa and placed Wolfram back down on it without walking the Phantom up. Zane stretched out his left arm toward his nightstand. He grabbed both his glasses and prosthetic eye without walking up the girls on his bed. He picked up two cute sneezes coming from his bed. After he put in his eye, he saw the the sleeping set of twins who was being hold by Arya and Rachel.
Celina was being held by Rachel and Izola being held by Arya. Early on, Zane learned that neither the twins require any kind of basic necessities that sustained life. They were born in the Transient Yonder so they just live. Callum was the same except he grew to love eating fast. They only did it to please Zane but after some time, they grew to love it. The twins tend to curl up unconsciously in their sleep and cuddled against whatever they found warm.
It was usually Zane whenever he stayed in the Transient Yonder for long periods of time and they really didn't like when they lost contact with said warmth. One time, Zane replaced himself with a pillow and the training afterward wasn't pleasant for him. The twins weren't happy about his little trick even though they hugged said pillow tight. Since he slept on the couch with Wolfram, Arya and Rachel took over for him much to their joy.
The twins looked to be much younger around Zoey's age mainly because of Wolfram begging them to change after hearing about it. Arya interlocked her limbs with Izola's body and reminded Zane of a sloth hugging a tree trunk. "Please stop it Zane." muttered Izola as she trying to push away Arya who was nibbling onto her ear. "I think she's dreaming about eating something delicious." thought Zane as Rachel treated her twin like a teddy bear. All of them were smiling peacefully.
Zane chuckled at the sight as he recalled teaching the twins things about technology, fashion trends, and current affairs that those two never would have known about due to them being cooped up in the Transient Yonder. Prior to his teaching, he was well aware of how socially ignorant the twins really were. Their mental capacity that rivaled his at times could contain a lot of information about his life and several different species of the Omniverse but they had no idea how to act human.
Callum was the exact same but he was slightly more aware of how to act normal since he has been with the Alliance since its formation after the Omniverse War. Back then, he made sure to not to overwhelm them since Celina gets emotional when she feels stressed out and Izola was the same except she was much more violent as shown by Theron getting sent flying across Ezlario when he was teasing her. He picked up the removed blanket. It was probably thrown off sometime in the middle of the night.
With it, Zane made sure that all four were covered properly. After getting himself all cleaned up, Zane changed into his typical loungewear aka a comfortable dark gray knit short sleeve sweater and black lounge pants. He went to make some breakfast before meeting with the others at the docks. They were planning on leaving Cypress Park by way of Midnight Bird to where they were having the wedding. It was called Variatance and considered to be one of the best dimension to visit.
The mayor was an old friend of Zane and offered the city to Zane for his wedding. Upon hearing about this, Rachel decided to take him up on that offer after seeing how beauty it was. They could have just taken a portal but Zane wanted his team to experience the beauty of the Omniverse like he did. This idea came after Zane got a message from Apollo and mentioned to him that Michelle wants to thank both Rachel and Zane for saving her from the Dwarf Clan personally.
She wanted the couple to come to her dimension to celebrate her being saved so they were going to stop there first and then the wedding. "Morning. Are you making breakfast?" said a sleepy Wolfram. While putting the apron from last episode, Zane turned to see the dog walking over to him. "I sure am. So how are the girls?" said Zane. The dog turned into a human with him sitting at one of the booths. "They all really heavy sleepers." said Wolfram. "Good. So are you okay with Arya joining the team?" said Zane.
Wolfram nodded as he said,"I like her but I need to ask you something.". "What is it buddy? You can talk to me about anything. Having girl trouble?" said Zane. "Not that. Am I strong?" said Wolfram. "Of course you are. I mean you're much stronger than the average Phantom." said Zane with him placing a cup of water in front of him. "But can I seriously protect you? I mean Allen, Danny, and the other guys got much stronger to protect but I didn't." said Wolfram.
The Phantom looked uncharacteristically depressed as he said,"I haven't gained any new techniques or powers since 2020 while they have mainly Danny.". "You don't need a million powers and techniques to be strong Wolfram but I can understand your concern. Well, I have been working on something for a while now." said Zane. "You have? What is it?" said Wolfram with him looking excited at the idea of getting stronger.
Zane smiled as he said,"It will allow you add transformations other than your giant dog, human, and werewolf form. I based it off my forms in the Z.E.R.O Watch. It is still in the trial phase however so we can't be too risky about it.". "Can I try it please?! I want to become stronger!" said Wolfram. "Sure but once we leave Cypress Park. I think I can install a training room into the Midnight Bird but well, it will take some time." said Zane. "You don't have one installed already?" said Wolfram.
The Cross Species sighed as he said,"It's a bit complicated little buddy. I may have had the plane for the past six years but I haven't really spend the time discovering what I can and can't do with it. We could have taken a Cruiser since I'm fully aware of what the Alliance's ship can do but well, I really want to show you guys how beautiful the Omniverse can be.". "Huh. I'm confused." said Wolfram. "Don't worry about it. Just me rambling. Wolfram." said Zane.
Zane looked at his dog with him saying,"I hope you're ready to become the strongest dog in the history of Terrarune. Just know that I won't be holding back and neither will the others. We are going to be the strongest team in the Omniverse I'm sure. Don't you agree?". "Ah. Okay! Lets do it!" said Wolfram with him smiling. Zane was happy to see his dog returned back to his normal self. He placed some pancakes in front of Wolfram with the Phantom enjoying it.
As Wolfram was eating, Zane looked toward his bedroom and sighed. Other than Arya, that room contained his harem. It was obvious to Zane and everyone in the Alliance who knew Arya that the woman had feelings for him but as a brother like figure when asked about. Personally, Zane really hates beings who cheat on their respective partner just for quick fix or something along those lines. He may flirt with anything attractive but unless he forms a strong connection, he won't go all the way.
That's just the type of person he is and Zara are except for one little difference. Zane always despised the idea of a harem despite him having one at one point in his life. He refused to treat girls like objects or prizes to be won. They were individuals. Beings like Blaze and Rufus had the wrong idea about them. They only had women to boost their massive egos which were eventually destroyed. Last night at Caribbean Blossom, Izola told Zane that those two had the wrong kind of harem.
Zane's harem back in the day was the right kind in her opinion. It was the one that was a result of love with every member of them willingly agreed to share him and still happy. Zane didn’t feel like arguing with her on this since he didn’t want to get a Celina punch which hurts. "You really shouldn’t be comparing yourself to those two aberrations. You’ll treat women in a respectful manner." said Astaroth.
The demon sighed as he said,"Unlike the devils I seen in your memories, you have your issues with some women but that's only one of them aka the howler monkey.". "I know that Astaroth but the idea of a harem has never really sit well with me. I mean even back then, I only agree to it because of the girls wanted to. They knew that I wouldn’t pick any of them since I wasn't going to hurt any of them. I was told often that by not picking any of them, I was still hurting them." said Zane.
Zane sighed as he said,"I just need some time to get use to the idea.". "I understand partner. You’ll figure it out." said Astaroth. "Thanks for your support." said Zane. Zane turned back around to see Wolfram and he was asleep. He had finished his food and went back to his dog form. Zane sighed as he carried the dog to the living room. "So why did you knock out my dog Alyssa? I'm sure that you know that he in no way bites. I mean he only tackles people for hugs instead of violence." said Zane.
After saying that, Zane turned to the front door with Alyssa appearing there from out of nowhere. She had once again changed her appearance with her hair being pulled back in a ponytail. She's wearing a black tank top which exposed her midriff under a silver elbow length leather jacket. Her jacket is adorned with a emerald green spider web print on the back of it and has the words "Beautiful but Dangerous" written under the spider web in gold.
She's wearing blue skinny jeans with it looking worn out and a black belt. She's wearing black leather shoes that look to be flats except they had a noticeable heel to them and brown fingerless gloves. She has her gray pistol stored in a shoulder holster that's hidden thanks to her jacket. She wears silver bracelets. "Sorry there Zane. Force of habit." said Alyssa. "It's fine. So what are you doing here? I thought Silas assigned you to helping out Melanie adjust to a normal life." said Zane.
Alyssa nodded as she said,"He did. I helped her find a place down in D.C. We fought against one of your enemies who tried to take over the country.". "Which one Alyssa? I got an entire rogue gallery after all." said Zane. "The one who uses those muscle bond brutes to fight for him." said Alyssa. "Ah Heretic. I've been trying to bring the Scavengers into the Alliance and I thought after what happened with one of them, it would be easy but nope. Things never go my way." said Zane.
The spy shook her head as she said,"Oh. I disagree with that immensely. I mean you were able to make another girl fall for you using your natural charm and I'm not talking about Rae or the twins.". "Yeah. I could tell since Kelly told Twlight about it once and well, I got really good hearing. Rae told me that it was fine since she likes you and the twins. It was another story at first." said Zane. "Yeah. Silas told me that the twins are extremely powerful beings and would be unable to join the Centurions." said Alyssa.
She smiled as she said,"He was really upset. So excited for the big day?". "Yeah I am. I have been waiting for the day that beautiful woman will be my wife. So while me and my friends are out of town, who'll be guarding Cypress Park? Silas promised me that my home will be protected." said Zane. "Don't worry about it so much and have fun. I'll be seeing you again real soon and to make you remember me." said Alyssa. The spy kissed Zane with her vanishing afterwards.
Zane sighed as he said,"Sometimes, I really do hate my luck with the ladies.". "And now you know how Kevin or I feel whenever a actress or model gives you a hug." said a voice. Zane turned to see Rachel standing there with her arms crossed. "Hey Rae. So how much did you see?" said Zane. "Her kissing you. I mean I'm jealous but this is normal for you." said Rachel. "You're right. I'm really shocked how you're still okay with marrying me after several women have fallen for me since I proposed." said Zane.
Rachel looked at Zane as she said,"It's only the Alyssa and twins right?". "Yeah. To my knowledge, I have a lot of fan girls. The only other woman who feels a strong emotion for me is the howler monkey who hates my guts since I ruined her rise to the top according to her." said Zane. "That's good. I'm never going to be mad at you for having another female falling for you sinceyou're Prince Charming." said Rachel. "Yeah. I really wish I could turn off my charm but I can't." said Zane.
The devil kissed Zane on the cheek affectionately. "You do remember how seven beautiful women were will share you right? I'm okay with them liking you since I can tell that all of them care about both sides of you. The hero and the being behind the mask. I just don't want to see you hurt again. Your Essence was already shattered before and I don't want that to happen again. When a woman gets someone she always wanted, she'll do anything she can to keep it." said Rachel as she began nibbling on her earlobe.
Zane smiled as he said,"Yeah I do but I hate harems and just the thought of cheating on you makes me sick to the stomach.". "Don't worry. You'll get used to it in time. If anyone of them hurts you, I'll end her. All of us will." said Rachel. "Thanks for having my back Rae. You were more accepting of those three than I thought you would be. Unlike Alyssa, all of Rumos's creations are terrible at reading the room mainly Callum." said Zane.
Rachel looked at him as she said,"So was it true that Celina thought Theron was a bad guy since he wanted to slice you in two after hearing about your new sword. Efren and Gwen were interested in for different reasons.". "Yeah. Efren thought it was amazing but Gwen could sense the noticed the dark and mischievous presence. I got it from Rumos and well, it almost sliced my arm." said Zane with him holding his left arm.
The devil crossed her arms as she said,"Still not the biggest fan of that story by the way. I really wish you bonded with Fafnir in a different way.". "It was the only way to get through to that so very stubborn fool. So which twin is your favorite? Mine is Celina since well, I really like teasing her. Don't tell Izola since those two get jealous easy." said Zane. "Even though we fought at first, I'm more of an Izola girl but Celina isn't bad either. So do you want to go wake up Arya?" said Rachel.
She looked back at their room as she said,"You told me that she was a heavy sleeper and clingy but I thought you were joking.". "That she does. Despite being quite small, she has a strong grip to rival my grandpa. So got any questions about the twins?" said Zane. "None at all. So are you ready to wake them up?" said Rachel. "Yep and I have the perfect way to do so." said Zane, pointing to Wolfram who was slowly waking back up from getting drugged.
The dog didn't seem to be affected too greatly by it since well, Phantom animals are different compared to normal animals. "You can be a real villain sometimes you know that?" said Rachel. "Yeah. Why do you think I don't deny being called an anti-hero sometimes? You love it plus Wolfram loves attention and you know it." said Zane as he picked up Wolfram. Rachel smiled as she followed Zane into their bedroom. "I really do." said Rachel.
A couple days later, Team Maelstrom was at the docks. "Holy crap! It's so big!" said Arya with her holding Wolfram in her arms. Efren snickered at what she said with this earning him a dropkick into the water by Jordan and Rachel at the same time. A bigger looking Midnight Bird was floating above the water beside them with Kevin saying,"Oh wow. I've never seen it look this big before.". "Yeah. I've been working on making it more travel ready." said Zane. "Sounds like a waste of time to me." said Sly.
Efren emerged from the water with him saying,"No way. It's badass Sly. I mean this is the way to head to where we're going!". "Speaking of that, where are we going?" said Heidi. "To Variatance for the wedding and the Ethereal Archipelago for a vacation. To be more specific, we're visiting the Salaron Empire which is where Michelle lives for the vacation. The Ethereal Archipelago is an entire dimension in the middle ring of the Omniverse and contains both locations." said Zane.
Heidi nodded as she said,"Ah. Thanks for telling.". Leo looked around as Danny looked at him. "So what's up?" said Danny. "Oh sorry. I was just wondering where the twins was. They are joining us right?" said Leo. "Not exactly mate. According to Rae, they had to head back home in order for their grandfather to try some of Cypress Park's food since he can't leave." said Allen. "Ah. So are we ready to go?" said Leo. "I think so since the entire gang is here right?" said Danny.
Gwen nodded as she said,"Yes. And I have something to say.". "What is it Gwen?" said Arya with the Phantom nodding. "Thank you all for being my friends." said Gwen. "Okay. So where did this coming from?" said Kevin. "It's nothing. I'm just thankful to have all of you in my life. Lets get going before these two find another reason to delay the wedding." said Gwen. "We wouldn't delay the wedding at this point Gwen." said Rachel. "I have my doubts about that." said Gwen.
The group slowly go onto the ship with Danny and Zane staying behind. Danny looked deep in thought as Zane said,"What's up man?". "I'm just thinking about what Gwen said. Did it sound strange to you too?" said Danny. "Not really. I mean I've never been able to understand women." said Zane. "Okay but I'll be keeping an eye on her." said Danny. "Yeah but I hope you plan an amazing stag party. I've got yours planned once you finally proposed to Gwen." said Zane.
Danny looked at him as he said,"Of course I do. I even got your space buddies to come on by and it will be soon.". "You're serious about that right?" said Zane. "Of course. I really want her to be my wife and I'll proposed to her faster than you did with Rae." said Danny. "I would have proposed to her when we were kids but apparently, that's not normal." said Zane. "It isn't. Lets get going." said Danny. "You got it." said Zane. The ship was gone shortly after that.
On the top of a nearby building, Brood sat there with him watching Zane and company sail around. "I guess that since they're leaving, we can begin our plan. I mean you've been planning this since the days of Hellion Baron haven't you?" said Brood. He turned around to see Lilith standing there with her joining by a cloaked figure. He's dressed similar to Lust and Sloth. Unlike Lust and Sloth, the gender is obvious even with the cloak on and it's a male.
He is wearing a black cloak, face covered with a hood, arms covered by longer than normal sleeves, a large gold zipper that fastens at the top and zips down to seal up the coat, and black pants. He wears black ankle length boots just like Sloth. His gold eyes are visible from underneath the coat's hood. It has gold and silver thorn designs decorate the coat. "Hopefully, I won't have any heroes interrupting to me as I get the first step of it underway." said Lilith.
The man looked at the two with him saying,"I had both Lust and Pride collect beings who have a grudge against Zero. There were a lot of them.". "So did you get the lava spewing conqueror to help or what? Her plan requires no one to bother her as we unleashed that." said Brood. "He didn't after what happen but it's fine Brood. I can work around it. So are you going to be leading this group of villains Greed?" said Lilith.
Greed shook his head as he said,"Not exactly. I have another job that I'm working on. It's been years in the making but Wrath will be leading them into battle and Zero will be dead at the end of this battle. If he survives somehow, I'm sure that he'll die in time. Do you not feel bad for killing him?". The mayor looked at him as Greed sighed. Don't get me wrong. I've killed for more petty reasons but he is the son of your true love. His human DNA comes from her after all." said Greed.
Lilith looked at Greed with she said,"It's fine. Even if Zane dies, I'll be there to conform Natasha and Shawn will follow shortly after.". "Really? Got a plan to kill him too. You're a vicious woman. Good luck with your plan." said Greed. He vanished after saying that. "So are you ready to go? We need to get you ready for your plan and keeping you away from criminals like me is a good thing." said Brood with him standing back up.
The mayor nodded as she said,"Yes but Brood. You're not a criminal like the rest of them. I see you as a warrior for justice and even if I fail with my plan, you will do great things for the Omniverse since you were made for.". She smiled at him with Brood nodding. "Okay. I will honor your wishes for me and make sure your plan work." said Brood with him covering the two in blue flames. They were both gone and leaving behind embers in their place.
